Welcome to our lake house. Life is Short, Eat The Cookie!
Eat The Cookie is not only a fun motto, it holds a special meaning in our family. Our family had always wanted a lake house or a ski house, or somewhere where we could get away for the weekend. But a week before Thanksgiving in 2016, my wife, Randi, was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer. That plan was put on hold.
As Randi was going through treatment, she told her doctors that she couldn't control what was going on with the cancer in her body, but she could control what foods she put into her body and she wanted to try to eat as healthy as possible. Randi’s oncologist told us that she should certainly try to eat as healthy as possible, but if it makes you happy, eat the cookie.
That became our motto of how we lived life!
Sadly, Randi passed away in August 2017 after a short 8.5 month battle. I was a widower at 42 years old with a 10 year old boy named Alex, and a 7 year old girl named Cameron.
When something bad happens, the saying is “at least we have our health”. But when our health is taken from us, it really puts life in perspective. If you’ve been thinking about buying that convertible, buy it! If you’ve been thinking of taking that vacation, take it! If you’ve been thinking of doing something for a while, but keep putting it off, don’t put it off any longer. Life is short, Eat The Cookie!
In August 2023, Alex, Cameron, and I ate the cookie and finally purchased this lake house. This is our happy place and now we get to share it with you. You've already taken your first step in Eating the Cookie by booking this house. I hope you have a great vacation!
Please let us know if we can do anything for you while you are here. And if you have any questions (or problems with the house), please don't hesitate to reach out at any time.
Enjoy your time here! And while you are here and after you leave, don't forget to Eat The Cookie!
