HOUSE:
Designed for Your Comfort - Keep warm and cozy in the winter with force-air heating. The main room has central AC and we add additional window AC units in the bedrooms during the warmer months.
3 UPSTAIRS BEDROOMS & 2.5 BATHROOMS:
The three upstairs bedrooms all include queen size beds, with high-end plush mattresses. The first bedroom shares the story of the 1936 inaugural basketball tournament, held in Berlin, Germany — the storms of change. The second bedroom takes you to —the making of the greatest — the 1960 boxing match in Rome, Italy where a controversial hero was born. The third bedroom takes us to Lake Placid, New York in 1980 where a hockey team made their miracle, inspiring us all.
Swim or Ski? You have your choice, both full bathrooms in the upstairs are quite unique — one features a rain shower and pedestal sink while the other has a wonderful original cast iron soaking tub & shower. The main floor features a half bath.
LIVING:
The living room features the — wall of games — from Athens in 1896 to Los Angeles in 2028 that will immerse you in the history of the modern Olympic movement. It has a queen sized sleeper sofa and large flatscreen TV.
KITCHEN & DINING:
The modern kitchen is fully equipped to make cooking at home a pleasurable experience. You'll find stainless steel appliances, glass cooktop stove, oak cabinets, and a large breakfast bar. The dining room takes us back to first Games, summer and winter and the Baron — Pierre de Coubertin who made them possible. The outside eating area features the flags of countries that come together to compete and bring the best their county as to offer.
LAUNDRY:
A full sized washer/dryer in the main floor bathroom will allow you to clean up after a day exploring the mountain side.
ENTERTAINMENT:
The main level which is well appointed and packed full of memory-making opportunities for your stay.
- The game room with foosball table and bar top is full of board games and books, with a wall of original sport patents.
- The main floor bedroom den showcases one of the most iconic women’s cycling stories of all time — fifty miles won by an inch — and has 2 twin fold-out beds and an additional flat screen TV.
On the upper floor, pull down the ladder from the upstairs ceiling and you’ll climb up into a one-of-a-kind sport zone. A glass enclosed observation tower, you have a perfect vantage point of Pikes Peak and downtown Colorado Springs from inside or out. This space is the perfect place to relax, reflect and learn more about an amazing American, one of the most iconic athletes of all time. Competing in 17 events at the 1912 Games and winning gold in Pentathlon and Decathlon, this “shining path” of modern athletics also forwarded baseball, basketball and football and helping these sports become that they are today.

We love to welcome guests that are seeking a quiet and restful setting. The neighborhood is home to longtime neighbors and we expect that guests will be respectful of the surrounding environment. If you're seeking to party or have kids that will not respect neighboring properties, this is likely not the right home for you. To help maintain a tranquil setting, we use a noise monitoring device which is 100% privacy compliant and endorsed by VRBO. It does NOT record actual sounds or conversations, it simply monitors the noise level (measured in decibels) so that our home is being used for residential purposes, not wild parties. We look forward to hosting you at our Sport Haus.
