The cottage is located down a private driveway on almost 2 acres of land, offering loads of privacy among the mature red oak forest. It's rated 10 out of 10 for privacy. With a fantastic view of the Fairholme Lake right from the new 40 x 10 cedar deck. The interior is decorated with a mixture of old and new, but keeping with a Muskoka feel. Clean and refreshing this cottage has it all with updated stainless steel appliances and dishwasher which allows you to relax instead of cleaning on your vacation.
Fairholme Lake cottage rental is a great family place to get away where you can bring your dog. We even supply the dog bowls, crate and dog bed.

The view was everything
We arrived at the cottage. First thing we noticed was that it wasn’t very clean. We understand it’s a cottage, so that wasn’t a huge deal. The cottage itself is a bit dated (but again, it’s a cottage). The view was the best part. It’s right on the lake. For the price, and the fact WE were charged for cleaning (when it wasn’t even clean in the first place), we won’t be returning. There are a lot of cottages more reasonably priced for what they are.

Lovely cottage
Very quaint, the lake was absolutely peaceful. The cottage was very clean with a fully equipped kitchen. Nice touch with loads of spices to be able to do some new recipes. Beds very comfortable...lots of space in the bedrooms. Enjoyed the updated bathroom. Hosts were excellent to communicate with. Liked that our dog could join us on our vacation, dog bed and bowls were appreciated. We will be back.

Beautiful and spacious cottage
The cottage was beautiful and spacious just as described. The dock overlooking the lake is perfect for a warm sunny day. The lake was quiet and still, and filled with wildlife. We even saw an otter swim up to the dock! The cottage is loaded with games for kids and adults, plus movies so you have plenty to do on a cold day. You are approximately 3 hours from Toronto so if you don't mind the drive, your stay is absolutely worth it.
Thank you Kristina!

Why they chose this property
Fairholme Lake is one of the most tranquil places I have ever seen. It was the dead of winter when my husband and I first came to view the cottage. At first glance we fell in love with it, we knew immediately it was the one, and we hadn't even walked inside. As a little girl, I was raised in Port Elgin and Southampton right on Lake Huron. Seeing the cottage for the first time brought me back to that point in time as a little girl. I felt at peace and close to nature, that feeling that nothing else matters, time seems to past by at a relaxed and slow pace. I was so lucky to have lived by the water, and this is something that I always felt was missing in my adult life. This cottage just felt right and made me feel the calm of the water and the peacefulness it has to offer. It's that place where you feel right at home when you walk inside. This is a place where we have been able to share with our friends and family and have shared some special moments here. From celebrating our children's birthdays, Christmas, New Year's Eve, Easter, Anniversaries, stagette parties and even the guy's fishing weekend. I hope you feel the same way too about this exclusive retreat. It is a unique and special place where we hope you can create some of your own memories.
