A nice unit, good size and a great view. Bonnie was great to deal with if we had an issue! The downside was that the area was noisy with the landscapers and traffic. There is no AC so the unit does get a bit warm in the afternoon, the shade on the lanai does help.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful review, James. I’m truly pleased to hear you enjoyed the unit, the space, and the beautiful view, and it was a pleasure assisting you whenever anything came up.
My apologies for the unpredictable maintenance required to keep the beautiful tropical landscaping in top shape. I’m glad the lanai shades, along with the ceiling fans and portable fans in the unit, helped keep the space comfortable throughout the day.
Thanks again for sharing your experience. Your feedback means a lot.

Beautiful unit in quiet complex. Everything was clean and well-equipped. Having beach chairs, umbrellas, towels were a nice plus.Enjoyed the beautiful sunsets from the balcony Would definitely stay here again
Clean and welcoming. Loved hearing the birds constantly singing and the big balcony to sit and watch the sunset. Unit is a bit of a hike up several sets of stairs and around the back. No AC so had to keep that in mind. Had to open windows and use fans which gave way to some incredible food smells and some unwanted as well. Since everyone has their windows open you can hear things you don’t want to as well. However, for the price, and location it really wasn’t a big deal.
It's a very short drive to many popular places around town and it's secluded and things are quiet. The place is super clean, and has two bathrooms which is really nice. The only not-perfect thing was that the entrance to the parking lot was around a blind turn, but traffic was so low there it was never an issue
Bonnie is absolutely the best VRBO property manager! The condo is amazing! The location is wonderful! The residents of the condominium complex are friendly and welcoming! My husband and I are already looking forward to next year's stay!

Had a wonderful time! Definitely would go back. The only thing it needs is conditioner for your hair. I have long hair and need conditioner to get the tandles out! But we would still go back!
Bottom line, the unit is an awesome vacation home away from home, with everything you’ll need and more. Five stars for the fully equipped kitchen complete with condiments and other useful items; fresh linens on the beds; 2 super clean bathrooms with hair dryers, extra towels, shampoos, and bathing soaps, extra sets of keys and the folder of information for starters. We especially liked the paintings on the wall. Thank you for your hospitality.
Two beautiful sunsets from the deck! Unfortunately only were able to stay 2 nights but had a great time. Great relatively quiet location with easy access to north and south Kona. The apartment is very spacious and very well furnished including a kitchen with everything you might need.
The condo was clean and so well stocked. It was spacious and Bonnie really thought of everything you could possibly need on vacation. The beach chairs were especially appreciated! Thanks for a wonderful stay.
Property as a whole was as advertised and met our needs for our stay. Great view to the ocean. Only issue that we had was that someone in an adjacent unit was smoking illegal substances frequently and the smell would make its way into our unit.
Very clean, very well equipped flat. Perfect and easy communication with the property manager. I was staying there during the Ironman World Championships and enjoyed the quietness and the clean area around it. Sunsets are incredible. I would definitely come again!

About the host
Hosted by Bonnie
We are a family of three living in Calgary, Alberta, with the Rockies as our backdrop. We enjoy skiing in the winter and exploring with our bikes and hiking boots in the summer. I also love to garden, and my husband loves to surf the internet. Recently, we had the pleasure of fostering a rescued pregnant dog who gave birth to seven puppies. We ended up adopting the mom and one of her pups. The two new additions are keeping the entire family healthy with their company and frequent demand for walks!
Why they chose this property
My husband and I were looking for a safe tropical location with great beaches that would allow us to escape the harsh winters in the Canadian Rockies with our young daughter. We were drawn to this particular location primarily for the spectacular ocean view, quiet surroundings, and the serene tropical plants and blossoms on the grounds around the complex. The complex has a mixture of vacationers and long-term residents who are super friendly, and the property offers a very peaceful place to call home away from home.
What makes this property unique
The location is an ideal anchoring place to explore the island. It is only steps to Keauhou Bay which offers kayak/canoe rentals and many ocean adventures. Shopping is convenient, with two to three weekly farmers markets in the neighbourhood and Keauhou Shopping center within five minutes away. My favorite is visiting farmers' markets and trying out the different tropical fruits unique to the island. Papayas are available throughout the year! There are two great beaches close by. Kahuluu Beach Park offers great snorkelling and little tidal pools for little ones to enjoy, often with sightings of Honu's (turtles) sunbathing nearby. Magic Sands offers powerful waves for boogie boarding and simple fun under the sun on a beautiful white sand beach. During winter, when waves are strong, the sand disappears into the ocean, hence Magic Sands. Mantra rays frequently visit Keauhou Bay at night to feed on plankton, and spectators and tour boats can be viewed from Sheraton's "Ray on the Bay," just a short stroll down the complex! It's also a mile away, by sea, to Captain Cook, one of the island's best diving and snorkelling sites: Two Steps, and Puuhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park with its wonders in history and culture. A short distance away, you can watch or join the spinner dolphins at Kealakekua Bay for a swim. This location is an excellent starting point to explore Captain Cook, Mauna Kea, Volcano, and everything Big Island has to offer, including the pristine beaches: Kapuna Beach, Black sand beach, Green sand beach, and many others. Don't forget to visit the Seahorse farm by the Kona Airport, the Botanical Gardens, Akaka Falls, and Rainbow Falls in Hilo. Big Island, Hawaii, is one of the few places where you can snowboard on the peaks of Mauna Kea and go beaching, snorkelling, and diving, all on the same day! The possibilities are endless on the Big Island!
