The cabin-like home in the woods was perfect for our family of four. The kids fully enjoyed the lofts and we woke up to elk in the yard. The kitchen space was perfect for cooking and enjoying the Mountain View’s and the high ceilings and windows made every room feel magical.

We had the best stay. Such a great property with so much to offer.
Our stay was perfect from beginning to end. Chris was so accommodating and easy to work with. The property was beautiful, clean, unique, and smelled so good upon arrival! We will absolutely be back!
We stayed at Evergreen Castle the night before our wedding and it was absolutely perfect. The house and property are so beautiful and there was so much space to accommodate all of our getting ready needs. Christopher was so kind and helpful coordinating our stay. 10/10 would stay again
We had a great time staying at the castle. The kids loved all the little surprise hidey-holes, everyone loved the open living space and great kitchen. We wish we could have done more than one day/night. Our only suggestion was a bigger selection in games and puzzles, though we did love having a few options to spread out on the giant table! We didn’t get to try the sauna this time, but maybe next time we’ll stay in the winter and try it!

Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback! We’re thrilled to hear that you and the kids enjoyed your stay, especially exploring the castle’s unique features and making use of the open living space and kitchen. We appreciate your suggestion for more games and puzzles – we’ll definitely take that into consideration for future guests. Hopefully, on your next visit, you’ll have a chance to try the sauna in the winter! We’d love to host you again for a longer stay. Thanks again for choosing us!
Had the opportunity to stay here for one night on our way through to Southwest Colorado. I have stayed in Denver on numerous occasions, but something appealed to me to stay a little further from the city and acclimate to the higher elevation. The house was charming, with nooks and crannies for my children to explore. The kitchen and living room combine for an open space where everyone can gather for preparing and eating meals. A few trails just down the road for a nice morning stroll. The additional living quarters is about 40 paces from the main building, so either plan to hold your overnight bladder or be prepared for a little bit of a walk. Overall we really enjoyed the unique and charming experience!

Thank you for sharing your experience! We hope to welcome you back for a longer stay next time you're passing through Southwest Colorado! Safe travels!
It’s a beautiful cabin with nice furnishings and a well-stocked kitchen! We all enjoyed the farm table, fire pit and sauna. The kids had fun exploring all the nooks and crannies. The only downsides were that it was a bit warm at night (we couldn’t open windows for that mountain breeze without letting bugs in…maybe have extra fans/window screens) and the single bathroom (we knew that going in; it’d be great if the studio had a bathroom to better accommodate larger groups). There was good communication with a responsive host (thanks, Chris!) and we appreciated the homey touches like the games, hammock and extra lanterns. Overall, you’ll have a lovely stay at the Evergreen Castle! We’d also recommend a stroll at Evergreen Lake and ice cream from the Colorado Creamery.

Thank you so much for the lovely review! We're glad to hear that you enjoyed the cabin, especially the farm table, fire pit, and sauna – it sounds like the kids had a blast exploring too! We really appreciate your feedback about the warmth at night and will definitely look into adding extra fans and window screens for a more comfortable stay. Also, great news: we're in the process of adding a second bathroom and are just finishing up the work permits, so that will be ready soon for future guests! Thanks again for your kind words and recommendations, and we hope to welcome you back for another stay soon!

Why they chose this property
Evergreen’s immediate neighborhood has the real mountain-town feel: tall pines, winding roads, and scattered homes that feel tucked into the forest rather than on a grid, with a relaxed, friend-to-friend vibe rather than a busy suburban scene. Locals here are a mix of outdoor lovers, long-time residents, families and retirees who head down to Evergreen Lake or into the woods for hikes and wildlife sightings on most days; you’ll often see deer or even elk grazing nearby and neighbors chatting at the coffee shop or lake trailhead. The community is known for being safe, quiet, and tightly knit, with low crime and people who treat this as more of a refuge than a quick weekend stop, so it’s normal to wave at folks walking dogs or heading out for a morning trail run. There’s a distinct sense of small-town charm here — friendly faces, outdoor activity at every turn, and a genuine appreciation for living in the Colorado mountains.
