About this property
Great Narragansett Location! Classic Beach Cottage. Short Walk to Kelly Beach.
This classic modern beach cottage is known as "Hidden Treasure". With a shore and nautical theme, you will feel ready to relax in this charming home. It has 3 lovely and bright bedrooms, 1 full bath with tub/shower, and a fully enclosed, roomy, and updated outdoor shower.
The cottage is located in the most desirable section of Bonnet Shores, and a 250 yard walk to beautiful Kelly Beach, the private beach for Bonnet Shore residents and renters. It is one of the closest to the beach/Dunes Rd available as a rental property. A very family friendly community with a great mix of full time and seasonal home owners, as well as renters.
**SCAM PREVENTION for all potential renters! We do not have, or have we ever had, this house listed on Craig’s list.
The cottage is tastefully decorated and comfortable. Custom pillows, original art, estate sale treasures, mix with new purchases to create a casual seaside decor. The cleaning service guarantees its work, you will be welcomed to a beautifully cleaned home. It has hardwood floors throughout (bathroom is tile). Fabulous granite countertops in a stocked kitchen with center island, stainless steel appliances, range with warming drawer, convection microwave, and bead board backsplash. The dining and living room are open-concept and the screened in porch provides additional living space that is truly enjoyable any time of day! A great place to hear the ocean and watch sunsets. Each of the three bedrooms have a roomy closet, and lots of storage space, even though the rooms are compact. The bunk bed room has custom crafted bunks that have pullout drawers and a passageway for the kids to play/crawl through. The lower bunk was built to provide headroom for an adult to sit comfortably. The top bunk is fine for children (and maybe small adults) but headroom is low. The bead board bathroom is modern and updated, and has a tub/shower combo. The wrap around front porch, back deck, and screened porch feature quality materials and detail. The large outdoor shower is refreshing after a day at the beach, brisk morning walk around the neighborhood loop, kayaking/paddleboarding, or other fun activities in Narragansett. The front and back yard are sod/grass with lovely flower gardens. Under the back porch is a small outdoor shaded sitting area and the classic L.L. Bean hammock for lounging. All beach carts, chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, toys and wagon are easily accessible from the beach closet with the arched doorway under the porch stairs. A full size washer/dryer/utility sink are located on the lower level complete with a laundry chute!
A drying rack and clothesline are available for those who choose "greener". Thank you!
Premium Wifi and Smart TV complete all that is needed for a great vacation!
Kelly Beach : The soft sand at Kelly Beach is groomed regularly, keeping it pristine for visitors. A short board walk leads to one of the finest community beaches in New England with beautiful views of the Atlantic Ocean and coastline. Lifeguards are on duty during the summer. There is no public parking at Kelly Beach, although drop off is allowed. This keeps the beach less crowded and available to Bonnet Shores Residents, Guests, and the Bonnet Shores Beach Club. (We are not members of the Beach Club. The Beach Club is for members who own a beach cabana located at the club and pay yearly dues for amenities including pool, tennis, restaurant & parking. Members come from many areas of RI including families from Bonnet Shores who live too far away to walk to beach.) From this cottage, the walk is easy, 250 yards, and there is a beach cart and wagon for use.

Why they chose this property
Being able to walk to a beach was the best feature of this home when we bought it in 2010, even tho it needed extensive renovation and updating. The area of Bonnet Shores has a great sense of neighborhood, beautiful homes and gardens, located on a cliffed penninsula of Narragansett between the Atlantic Ocean and Narragansett Bay.
What makes this property unique
High quality materials inside and out were used with shore living in mind. The original home didn't have any porches and was a dark brown very dated ranch without any porches. Original cobblestones were found buried in the front along the property line and reused along with stones from a demolished wall. Salvaged bluestone from a seaside home in Branford, CT were relocated and used for the front steps and side walkway. Found treasures from various locations in New England were included in the renovation and decoration. The mud room is the only interior square footage that was added over existing concrete stairs identical to the ones on the opposite side of the house. The baseboard rocks were handpicked from beaches in RI, MA, NH, and ME and installed one by one over several years. All the wall and trim paint were chosen for a specific color with beach themed names.
