Tim, thank you for staying with us at Peaceful Pines Retreat1 We are so glad you have an excellent stay and loved the location. We look forward to hosting you again!
We really enjoyed our stay. The location was centrally located to all of our destinations. My children had a great time in the hot tub. Bedroom linens were all clean and fresh. The cabin had most amenities that we needed (no dishwasher soap). There were a few issues we noticed regarding housekeeping…there were damp towels left in the dryer upon our arrival, a bag of trash hanging in the kitchen and a sticky substance on the kitchen floor that we had to clean up. The WiFi wouldn’t connect most days and it was very hot in the cabin. With only one small window unit to cool the whole place, it never really cooled down to our liking.

We loved our stay in this cabin. It was clean and homey. We were able to message about anything we needed and got responses fairly quickly. We would definitely stay here again!

Liked: Location, listing accuracy
Disliked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication
Cabin itself was nice and roomy, but allmost all cabinets and drawers were in use by a lot of stuff not usefull for shortterm renters. Maintenance level was poor: curtains rails were loose, towel rack came of the wall. Check in process was messy. Communication was not via VRBO email, but by SMS. when asked a question, we got 5 times a reference to the guest guide, but no answer. Cleaning was mediocre at best.

Great cabin within short distance of everything in the black hills. We loved our stay. Fireplace didn’t work which was the only disappointing thing. Hot tub was great, the kids toys in the cabin were great for our little one and drinking coffee in them morning was wonderful!

Lucas, thank you for staying with us at Peacfeul Pines Retreat! We are so glad you had a great stay. We have reported to fireplace to maintenance. We look forward to hosting you again!
This was supposed to be a relaxing week, but instead we were met with disappointment. We arrived at the cabin 2 hours after check in and were met with a filthy cabin. There were no sheets on the bed, dirty towels on the floor and the toilet seats were soiled. We were told that a cleaning crew was coming but only one showed up over an hour later. The dishwasher didn’t work our entire stay.

Unfortunately the cleaning company missed the cabin but they were able to get to the house within an hour and get the house cleaned for you. We also gave you a very nice refund due the fact that it wasn't ready and we were happy to do that.
After staying in the cabin for 2 full days we got a call that the dishwasher wasn't working, but it was the weekend so we had a maintenance person stop up but an actual appliance repair person came after you left and we have since gotten a new dishwasher at the cabin. We are sorry for the inconveniences during your stay however we did our best to fix the issues and make your stay more enjoyable.
We were out for High School State Tennis wanting a peaceful place to unwind at the end of the day and spend some extra time enjoying the forest for hiking and solitude. Didn't spend a ton of time at the property or use a lot of the amenities, but the hot tub was great, the place was quiet. Pleased and would recommend!

We had a very nice time staying at this VRBO home. The location was perfect for all we wanted to do. The home was clean and we loved the hot tub. The only thing we were disappointed about was that the internet was extremely slow where our grandkids could not stream any of their shows. I had to turn my phone into a hotspot just to speed it up a little bit.

Nick, thank you for staying with us at Peaceful Pines Retreat! We are so glad you loved the home and it's location. We are sorry about the internet, we will get someone out there to take a look at it. Thanks for being great guest, come back again!
This is a great location and has a lot of extras for family fun. The shower/bath on the main level doesn’t drain very well and the water is brown so looks gross, but it is manageable. It isn’t technically a 3-bedroom, so read the details carefully. The 1 bedroom upstairs is attached to the bathroom upstairs so the open bed upstairs has to use the main level bath or go through the upstairs bedroom. It gets HOT during the day. Lots of windows and only a small air unit, similar to a window air unit. Not very easy to temperature control the cabin. It is off a busy highway, which is nice for access but not as private as it appeared.

Thanks Mindy - we appreciate the feedback and the drain has been taken care of.
Location is great. Check in was great. We were there with a big group so we also got to see two other properties next to this house. The property management did great with no issues. I emailed about the water being brown and they immediately called and I missed it because we didn’t have service but we communicated through email. They tried to take care of the issue and got a hold of the owner and they said it was fine to use and even drink. We did not drink it. I did fill 2 glasses with water and let them set and the water really didn’t lookToo brown. We bathed our grandson and the water looked terribly brown. After a couple of days there I am not sure that the water isn’t too bad it is the bathtubs, toilets, sinks being not clean or maybe stained. The downstairs bathroom has mold in spots and maybe dirty or stained not sure. The shower curtain used to be white or off white maybe but is also stained brown severely. Had we been there longer I would have spent a day cleaning. The floors were vacuumed somewhat.. I did get the vacuum out to vacuum and it was so full of dirt, lent, hair I had to clean out the vacuum before vacuuming. It wasn’t just disgusting but was dirty. When we booked I picked this house and it was actually the most expensive of the 3 to choose from. The other 2 houses were much nicer, cleaner and up to date that this one. I do have photos.
Fantastic cabin in the Black Hills! Great location near Mount Rushmore and other attractions, yet peaceful and relaxing. The hot tub was a highlight after long days out. Loved the easy access to restaurants in Hill City. Everything was clean and comfortable. We’d definitely love to come back!
