Johns pass week on the beach

The house is situated directly on the beach just yards from the sea. The property is actually better than the photos and very spacious and accommodated our party comfortably. It's ideally located close to shops bars and restaurants

Sun, Surf, Sand, Sensational Stay

We always try to stay here while in the Madeira Beach area. You won’t find a better home on the beach that’s so family and pet-friendly. The owners are the most accommodating hosts we’ve had and the house is like moving to a home away from home, stocked with everything you need. The proximity to John’s Pass, Treasure Island, Clearwater and St. Petersburg provides lots of options for food, activities, or just relaxing on the beach or large deck. We’ll be back!

Beautiful setting

Outstanding location - just steps to the water! Feels like your own private beach is at your doorstep. Communication with the owner is good and check in/out process is also good. This was our second visit to the property and we hope to return.

Beach Haven

Location was perfect, right on the beach with great view yet still provided privacy. Great deck for sun bathing, reading & enjoying breakfast or wine. Within easy walking distance to John’s Pass. Numerous good restaurants to choose from within reasonablewalking distance or a short drive. Had great weather as well. Excellent place to view the beach, surf and night sky. Ron was great to work with. Master bedroom with beautiful views of the dunes, beach and the Gulf. House had a “homey” feel.

Rest and relaxation with all the comforts of home!

This is one of the best VRBO properties we’ve stayed at. It’s right on the beach but has a sense of privacy with the small sand dune running behind the back yard. The location is within walking distance to several excellent restaurants, shops, and water sport opportunities. Everything you need, plus a lot of extras, are provided by the hosts who personally greet you and show you around the property. Our dog had her best vacation ever with several quality dog parks nearby. We’ll be returning to this one! Thank you so much for your hospitality Ron and Rose.

Slice of Heaven!

What an amazing cozy beach house! We stayed with our family of 6. Ron and Rose met us for our checkin and gave us a tour of their lovely beach home. Their home is cozy, warm, inviting, and has an amazing view of the sunset every night! This is truly a slice of heaven tucked away in Madeira Beach! We lived our stay and look forward to staying here again! We have never stayed in a VRBO twice but this would be our first choice to break that streak! Awesome house in perfect location

An amazing vacation! Loved waking up to looking straight at the ocean from bed! I loved that the deck went straight to the sand so the kids could play by the house. The house was within a couple minutes walking distance to tons of restaurants, Johns Pass, a brewery, and boat and jetski rentals. The house was much nicer than the online pictures (much bigger than expected, nicer than the pictures, updated appliances, new deck, etc..). House was well stocked with everything we needed. 10/10 would recommend!

Best Beach House Ever

My husband and I, along with our best friends, rented this house for a week vacation. Ron, our host, is wonderful and very easy to talk to and responds quickly to any messages. The house is beautiful and beach access is so easy! We spent most of the time on the deck, just talking and looking at the beach. The rent is very reasonable for this lovely home and he doesn't require a cleaning fee! Just leave it like you found it. We won't ever rent anywhere in that area except that house. We will definitely be back!

Exceeded Expectations!

This house was absolutely amazing! The location is perfect; right on the beach and within walking distance to restaurants, activities, etc. We had everything we needed for our week’s stay at the house; so much more than we expected. I read in a previous review that the pictures in the listing do not do the house justice-I absolutely agree with that 100%. This house is clean, cozy, and perfectly decorated, and we loved the personal photos of the family. I must mention that Ron was the perfect host. He called us before our trip, answered questions during our stay, and called at the end of the week to make sure we had enjoyed our time at the beach house. Thank you so much, Ron and Rose for sharing your beautiful home with our family.

beautiful location, lovely trip, but house needs work and owner expects house work done at checkout.

The location is unbeatable. We were maybe 50 steps from the huge deck to the ocean, and with three small children ages 2 and 5, this was a major factor in our choice to book. The house is charming. Old and dated, but a sweet family home. Ron was welcoming during check-in. He was also responsive when we had an issue with the toilets not flushing well. Unfortunately can't give 4/5 stars. The house did not appear to have been cleaned and organized in quite some time. There was about an inch layer of dust on shelves/light fixtures/corners/decor/fake plants, and even balls of hair that were in some of the plants. The carpets and house smelled of mildew. Pocket/French doors and other things in disrepair. There was LOTS of food/drink/condiments left in the refrigerator from previous guests. The closets/cabinets and drawers were FILLED with clutter from either the owner or previous guests. There was barely room to put away our things in some of them. The bathroom toilets and sinks were dirty and it didn't seem that the bathrooms in general had been deep cleaned in some time. Upon checkin Ron vaguely mentioned that he did not charge a cleaning fee as long as we left the house in good condition. I then tried to clarify by asking what we needed to do at checkout and he said to just leave it tidy and "some people put the sheets in the wash". I assumed that his cleaning fee must be somehow installed in the total amount or that the "lived-in" quality of the home was reflected in the price for location. Also we didn't like to complain and wanted to just enjoy our trip. There was no printout, rental agreement, or any further instructions/info on what he expected from us at checkout. An hour after checkout we received a call from Ron and follow up text that he would be deducting from the DAMAGE deposit for a cleaning crew to come, as there was sand on the floor/tub, smudges on bathroom mirrors, beds moved (there is no full sized bed in second master)and clean dishes that weren't put away. My husband and I were appalled and called him, only to be spoken very rudely to about how we were supposed to have cleaned his bathrooms and vaccuumed/swept his floors before leaving (none of this was made clear at check-in). We would have gladly paid a cleaning fee to have stayed in a clean home and to have not been expected to clean someone's already dirty house while on vacation. It was a disappointing little scam and bad end to a nice family trip. be aware before booking.

Charming Beach House-Excellent Host!

We thoroughly enjoyed our family vacation at the beach house (mom, dad and two college age sons). You can’t beat being directly on the beach, but also the location with its walkability to John’s Pass is a huge bonus. The house itself is spacious, clean, and has everything you need. Perfect for viewing those beautiful gulf coast sunsets! I was initially concerned about any potential noise from the resort next door, but we couldn’t hear anything when we were inside. When enjoying the outdoors on the deck it was not an issue either. The foliage in between the house and resort offers good privacy. It was a pleasure to be welcomed by Ron upon our arrival and shown around the house. We enjoyed meeting him and learning about some of the history of the beach house. We look forward to returning next year! Thank you Ron for your hospitality!

Paradise Found!

What a location. We stayed 6 weeks and loved every minute of it. If you didn’t want to- you would never have to leave your home- but if you did - just about everywhere you would want to visit is less that 30 minutes away. The home was clean and comfortable- to walk out on the deck for a sunset was even better. Even though the beach club is next door- it was very quiet in the house - and fairly private on the beach deck. Ron and Rose were the best hosts anyone could ever find. Made us feel very comfortable and made sure that the home was equipped with anything you would need. Will be counting the days until our next trip here!

Perfect Family Vacation

Ron and Rose were amazing hosts! Excellent communication regarding checking in and out as well as recommendations for area, dining and attractions. House was well kept and the perfect spot for a family of five to enjoy some beach time! Just Perfect!

50th Anniversary Getaway

Ron and Rose met us at the Beach House and took us through the house showing us where everything was located getting us settled in. The location is near John’s Pass and within easy walking distance of many shops and restaurants. The big draw for us is being right on the beach, we walked the beach practically every day and enjoyed every moment of our stay. We give two big thumbs up and will definitely plan on returning again in the future.
