About this property
100 Year Old Home in Historic Downtown
This recently remodeled two bedroom home is truly one of a kind. It is both modern and rustic with all of the conveniences that you love tucked into a perfectly charming package. Built in the 1890's, this home is an enduring piece of Pagosa's colorful cultural history and a great home base for exploring the amazing Upper San Juan Basin.
We provide all of the amenities that you expect to find in a vacation rental, plus some. Our fully stocked kitchen includes things like basic spices and oils, coffee filters, garbage bags, dish soap, dishwashing detergent etc. The dining table seats eight. Amenities for entertainment include a flat screen television (with cable) in both the living room and the dining room, and there is of course wifi on site. We provide plenty of towels, and stock laundry supplies.
The kitchen is chock-full of craftsmanship. The cabinet frames were welded from steel and fit with boxes from a local cabinetmaker. The countertops are concrete, easy to clean and easy to work on. There are also undercabinet lights, a gas range and oven, an over sized stainless sink and all of the cookware, serving ware, small appliances and gadgets that make cooking easy and fun!
The dining room / bar is one of my favorite rooms in the house. The north wall is made of stone, with steel support beams, there is a beautiful red brick floor and the south wall is the original exterior siding. Wide, locally milled lumber; one detail from the original construction that we were able to save. Combined with some tech lighting, a custom built steel and glass chandelier, handmade furniture and a flat screen television, it's the perfect combination of old and new.
Upstairs you will find two bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king sized bed and across the hallway there is another bedroom with a queen sized bed. Both rooms have ample closet space. Downstairs is the bunk room, with a queen sized sofa sleeper. The house will sleep a total of six.
There is one full bathroom outfitted with a large soaking tub / shower combination and heated concrete floors. The on demand water heater (endless hot water!) and excellent water pressure are definitely worthy of special mention.
Out the back door you will find a flagstone patio, fenced on three sides for privacy. There is a dining table and gas fire pit table for you to enjoy.
Sustainability was the goal in the remodel of this home. We sourced our materials locally, quite often reclaiming them ourselves, and we found creative ways to use materials that we already had. We installed primarily LED lighting and we buy renewable energy from our local electric co-op. None of these things will affect your experience in staying here, unless they matter to you. In that case, you can rest easy knowing that you are supporting local Pagosa Springs businesses, energy conservation and mindful building practices. We also live here in Pagosa Springs and are happy to be available to you.

About the host
Hosted by Ohea Graham

We are long time Pagosa Springs residents and are thankful to live, work and play here. Our home is just a mile and a half away from the rentals and we are happy to be available to answer questions or handle any situations that may arise.
Why they chose this property
We are particularly fond of downtown Pagosa Springs. This house came to us in very poor condition and ended up being one of the most fun and rewarding remodels we have ever completed.
What makes this property unique
Downtown Pagosa Springs is the place to be! This home is within walking distance of restaurants, entertainment, three different hot springs spas, the San Juan River, free river hot springs, Reservoir Hill with it's hiking and bike trails, festivals, and disc golf course, Town Park with it's festivals and events, coffee shops, a wonderful bakery, a craft beer brewery, an organic market and deli, plus so much more... It is a completely different experience from staying in subdivision outside of town. In the winter downtown is one of the closest places that you can stay to Wolf Creek Ski Area, saving 15 or 20 minutes of driving per day compared to staying in the Fairfield area.
