We loved the place. The host was very helpful when checking in and throughout our stay. Everything we needed. The bed was comfortable and it was quiet we were there on Kings day celebration and it was quiet. Enjoyed our stay and would stay here again if we’re in Amsterdam again.
A very clean, quirky little apartment in the nicest area of Amsterdam. Kitchen was fully stocked and then some. Located just around the corner from breakfast places and restaurants. More pleasing was the location to bread, meat and cheese shops to shop like Europeans. There was also a supermarket in the area. All this in less than three blocks. Anne Marie was the perfect host, calling us a cab when we left and letting my wife in when we got separated from one another and I had the key. Oh, and the boat which sets a few feet from the front door to have dinner, breakfast or just watch canal activity was great. Thank you Anne Marie.
Yes, everything was just fine! Patio could have been cleaned up better. The apt was cozy, cute and kind of Bohemian. The shower was a bit of a challenge getting in and out. Overall, funky in a good way.
Anne Marie was very welcoming and helpful, the space is wonderful, even has its own sauna, quirky, yes, but it is a brilliant quirky, location is unbeatable
It is quirky.... just a good word. We loved it. Location could not have been better. The boat out front, we went out 5 of the 6 nights we were there and sat in it with a glass of wine and some wonderful cheese. I cooked dinner in each evening due too my husband working. Bed was comfortable We would definetlly go back. We did not use the sauna. Anne Maria could not have been nicer.
Wonderful welcoming hosts and such a unique experience to stay in an authentic 17th Century home. We enjoyed the tranquil walled garden and sitting in the canal boat and the location is excellent, within easy walking distance of the major sites.
So Centrally Located in the heart of Old Town Amsterdam. We wouldn't hesitate to stay at Ann Marie's amazing home for a unique and memorable lodging experience!!
Very quirky little place!! All full amenities available. Perfect little central place, great for people watching whist sipping coffee on the boat. Host was just lovely and very accommodating. Comfiest bed ever! And the deepest bath too!!just perfect and wonderful thank you!
Property was clean and neat in a great location. A little musty because of bottom floor but other wise very good host was very good as well and accomidated luggage storage after our departure.
Location is great, price was unbelievable, the space is exactly as shown on the listing. The bathroom tub and toilet area seemed to be a little too quirky for us but was certainly functional. Ann Marie is a great host and very helpful. Thanks for the enjoyable stay and the memories.
A unique property that is in a ground floor flat of a 16th c canal house - we enjoyed the garden and it is a quiet neighbourhood with many interesting restaurants.
A wonderful stay at this Bohemian historic spot. Access to the boat on the canal was special and made this choice ideal. The basement location is certainly quirky but gives a real feel of old Amsterdam.
Excellent location - walking distance to everything!
An unforgettable place in an unforgettable city! Both unique in many ways! Our host was a pleasure to deal with

About the host
Hosted by Anne Marie Borsboom
Anne Marie Borsboom threw herselff as quirky adolescent already on the making cartoons consisting of four, five photos. Someone said: you should go filming. And so it came to pass. After the Film Academy, she went to work as Camerawoman and Director. Her new film BOI, Song of a wanderer and Homesick plus Carnival were broadcasted. Anne Marie tries to stir her films to be more than the main theme suggests.
At times her visual poetry and eye for composition are the best in photography and they have traded the 24 frames per second for a single muted image with a strong expressiveness. But then again there makes them look prefer a series of. There are – how could it be otherwise – playful references in to film and the Visual Arts.
