This was a wonderful stay in a great location, walkable to the beach and downtown with young kids. The property was well-cared for, very kid-friendly, and had everything we needed.

Wonderful place, close to beach and down town you can walk everywhere. The linens and decor are really nice. A lovely backyard. only thing to recommend would be beach chairs. We’ll definitely stay here again.

This is a very clean apartment in a charming, remodeled South Haven home. We have stayed three times, and our fourth visit is already booked. Check in is easy. Kitchen has all you need. Backyard is charming and has a gas grill and lots of seating.

Amazing Stay

Couldn’t be happier with our stay here. Very kid friendly, short walk to the beach and town, and a huge playground. Barely had to use the car. Will definitely be looking to book this again in the future.

We cannot say enough on how much staying here enhanced our trip. We came back to South Haven to vacation with lifelong friends that we vacationed with as children during the 1960's. We loved the quaintness and beauty of this home which has all the amenities you could want. I LOVED that there were tons of thick white bath linens! The 2nd floor B space is arranged nicely with large extended kitchen counter with two stools at the end. Also a breakfast nook with large padded cushions. Very family friendly with childrens toys placed strategically. We also enjoyed the beautiful back yard with privacy. We walked easily to the beach and enjoyed several sunsets there. HIGHLY RECOMMEMEND!

Perfect location & kid friendly

We were very pleased with our stay! The apartment was clean, comfortable, and well-stocked. I was pleasantly surprised to find that there were also several toys, children’s books, and even a playhouse in the backyard! Being within easy walking distance of the beach, Kids Corner, splash pad, and downtown made it the perfect spot for us and our toddler.

May be the best vrbo I have stayed in.

The unit and entire property is immaculate, well kept and decorated to the nines. Great neighborhood, walked to see the sunset every night, amazingly clean. Many extras like magnifier mirror, plenty towels, extra coffee, etc. Will be booking again and recommending to all family and friends.

South Haven treasure

If you need to stay for vacation, but can't do a full week, then this is the place. Cute home and backyard, separated into small apartments. Excellent location - close to beach, downtown and Kids Corner Park.

Great stay!

We’ve been staying at Sunset Manor for years now, however this was our first time staying in this portion of the house. We loved having the extra space now that we have a daughter. The walkability to the beach and town make this the perfect location. Barb makes you feel right at home. We hope to stay again next year!

Great stay for a small family

Our stay at Sunset Manor was great! It was the perfect amount of space for our small family of 4. Walking distance to the beach. Beautiful shaded backyard. Great things for kids including playhouse in backyard, toys and books. Barb was very helpful when the property had a boil water advisory and brought water to the property very late at night so we were all set. I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the place, and the upkeep of the backyard amenities. We will certainly be back to stay here again!

Lovely & Impeccably Clean

We loved our stay at Sunset Manor. Barb’s attention to detail was apparent inside and out. Our family had everything we needed. This is also a great place for children. We really appreciated the age appropriate table, toys, books, and playhouse for our toddler. The beds were very cozy. Even the pull out sofa bed was very comfortable for my 19 yr old. The home is in the perfect location, just a couple blocks from the beach and a short walk into town. We would definitely stay here again!

Very convenient location for the beach and downtown in a cute and cozy upstairs apartment. Our toddler loved the playhouse in the backyard and all the included toys and books. Kitchen was well stocked and we had plenty of bath towels and travel toiletries. All that said, I would knock a star off due to the unit itself. It is very cramped and there is furniture in every corner, so when you move one thing or leave a door open, you are tripping over something else. There wasn't really space in the bedrooms to leave open suitcases or set up a travel crib. It worked out but it just always felt tight for our family of four (two kids under three years old). Also, we could really hear our downstairs neighbors all the time and they weren't even particularly loud. And all outdoor spaces are shared with 1-2 other parties in the house. Still a neat space in a cute and distinct old house. It felt overpriced for what we got, but I suspect that is just the price of staying in South Haven in the summer.

Modern but cute and homey

Very clean, modern but still has that cottage feel. We (my 12 and 14 year old nieces and myself) rented this 2 bedroom/2bathroom apartment for 4 nights. Loved the modern kitchen and bathrooms - they were gleaming and had everything we needed. Fluffy white towels are the best! Beds very comfortable and loved that there were ceiling fans so we could shut off the air conditioning and open the windows on cooler evenings. Good closet space for a smaller unit. No washer/dryer and that would be necessary for a weeks stay w/children however we did find for 4 nights. Cute sitting area our back door/kitchen with seats for 4. We hung our beach towels out there to dry. Big back yard shared with other two units. Ample seating for 6 + picnic table w/umbrella. My 12 year old niece loved the bench seat breakfast table. Loved furniture selection. Close to BEACH! We are South Haven regulars and will rent here again. Only wish the off season pricing would drop.

We live in South Havenand have lived here for over 30 years. I love it here.
I am a hygienist and work 2 days a week. I also have 5 grandchildren from the ages of 6 to 2. My husband is retired but still does a little contract workat different nuclear plants.

Why they chose this property

My husband was very interested years ago in this house. I was very busy with our children. It has been a dream of mine to do weekly rental as it is so close to the lake.
I truly love this house and have enjoyed renovating it over the past 4 years.

What makes this property unique

There is something very special here at this house . I feel it when I work in the yard.
one can hear the lake. The breeze off the lake is amazing in the summer. Our sun sets
take your breath away.
