Beautiful home with an amazing view in such a cute city!
My family and I absolutely loved our stay at this home! It was the perfect retreat for us, and we thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub and the breathtaking sunset views, especially while cooking in the beautifully designed kitchen. The kitchen was fully equipped, making it easy to prepare an amazing family dinner. The town of Clinton was absolutely charming, with the friendliest people, and we fell in love with Hammonasset Beach—it’s a must-visit! We’ll definitely be returning in the summer. The home’s privacy was a huge bonus, and the updated finishes were a great touch. It was a great experience!

Unexpected
The listing pictures are beautiful, but once we got to the space seemed as if it was under construction/ unfinished in many ways. It would be beneficial to the host to complete the jobs that were left undone so that others may enjoy their stays.

Lukewarm hot tub
The hot tub never got above 92 degrees. There was no hot water for showers in the morning. The first person had 2 minutes of hot water in the morning. The other 3 of us needeling a shower had to take cold showers. In the evening there was hot water for a shower, but not in the morning.

The main level inside was clean. The outside of the house, including the back porch, was run down and filthy. There were cinder blocks and trash all around the house, moss growing on the benches, and holes and wood rot on the porch deck. We didn't even go near the hot tub.Inside, there were a couple things worth noting. The pocket door separating the family room from the master BR was warped and didn't slide all the way closed. A knob was missing on the stove and there was old food in the refrigerator. On the positive side, the TV and internet were great. (We had to contact the owner for the password.) The furniture and beds were clean and comfortable, and there were some very interesting plumbing fixtures, including a bathtub in the middle of the bedroom. The bathrooms were small but functional with good hot and cold water pressure. Overall, a mixed experience.
House was as pictured with a beautiful lake view from the deck. Was disappointed with the trash left outside of the house mostly in the back yard (old fire pit next to hot tub, pile of cement blocks, construction molding on ground under bushes). The house had a few small unfinished projects inside (bedroom pocket door didn’t work properly, unfinished molding around doors, mattresses in bunk room didn’t fill the bed frame). It just didn’t seem 100% rental ready. For the nightly price, the house should have been pristine inside and out. We also had an issue with the hot water and called for assistance. We were informed someone would come but never did. Luckily the problem resolved itself. I would suggest supplying documentation on the check out procedure.
