About this property
The Buddha House - Luxurious North Boulder Retreat
Discover tranquility and high design at The Buddha House, a peaceful and light-filled space in one of Boulder’s most desirable neighborhoods. Just 1.5 miles from the Pearl Street Mall, this recently updated townhome is ideal for those seeking a serene retreat that blends thoughtful design, luxury touches, and the convenience of a central location- within walking distance to markets, coffee shops, trailheads, and bike paths.
THE SPACE
The Buddha House is lovingly appointed with an open floor plan, high ceilings, an upper level loft, two bedrooms, a full bath with soaking tub, and original artwork throughout. It has a private front porch and entrance, as well as a spacious 400 square foot deck.
The kitchen is fully equipped, with a full-size refrigerator, stove and oven, dishwasher, blender, and coffee and tea accoutrements. You'll find all the cookware, dishes, and glassware you need to prepare a perfect meal. Sit at the counter, enjoy meals at the four-person dining table, or dine al fresco on the deck. A brand-new, top-of-the-line LG washer and dryer makes laundry a breeze.
The living room is open and airy, with soft natural light streaming through multiple windows. In the colder months, the working fireplace adds a cozy touch, while a brand-new Carrier A/C unit keeps things cool during Boulder’s warm summers. A custom-designed architectural staircase (note: very steep!) leads to the upstairs loft.
The loft is an extra-special hideaway with plush wall-to-wall carpeting, soft lighting, and a calm, contemplative energy—perfect for reading, yoga, or quiet reflection. A new 55” LG Smart TV with live YouTube TV offers access to 100+ channels, while a Taschen book collection provides inspiration. You'll also find a desk, large Apple monitor, and office supplies—though we hope you won’t have to work too hard during your stay. Please note: the loft is only accessible via the staircase, which may not be suitable for guests with mobility limitations.
The bedrooms feature 5-star hotel-quality mattresses, 300-thread-count Egyptian cotton sheets, and down pillows for cloudlike comfort. The primary bedroom has a king-size bed, opens to the deck, and includes a glamorous custom make-up vanity with a marble vessel sink—perfect for starting your day in style. The extra sink helps with the single bath as two people can get ready at the same time. The second bedroom has a queen-size bed and ample storage.
The gorgeous, newly remodeled bathroom is spa-worthy, with radiant heated pebble floors, a Toto Washlet toilet, Kohler soaking tub, and beautiful high-end fixtures throughout.
But perhaps the most magical space of all is the deck. Accessible from both the living area and primary bedroom, it features raised flower beds, a granite water feature, fire table and sofa, and a large Weber grill. The deck is graced with a soulful marble Buddha imported from Tibet, providing the inspiration for the name, and vibe, of this special home.
Steps from your front door are tennis and pickleball courts, and we provide rackets, balls, yoga mats, cushions, and blocks for your use. Boulder BCycle e-bikes are available for rent with pickup/drop-off stations throughout town. Scenic bike paths just steps from the front door can take you anywhere you want to go.
Whether you're visiting for work, rest, or play, The Buddha House offers the perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and convenience—a true Boulder getaway. Feel free to reach out with any questions about The Buddha House or the amenities we offer. Our goal is to provide you with a home-away-from-home that you'll want to return to again and again.

About the host
Hosted by Elizabeth Candelario

I love to travel so I have organized The Buddha House both as my primary residence, and a wonderful short term rental for folks visiting Boulder when I am on the road. My property manager (and one of my besties) Paula and I endeavor to provide excellent service to our guests.
Why they chose this property
I honestly think north central Boulder is the best place to live. We have restaurants, grocery stores, dry cleaners, and lots more all within walking distance, and its just a short bike ride or drive (or walk for that matter!) to the center of town. So you can get away from the bustle and traffic of Pearl Street and enjoy the peace and quiet of the neighborhood. Bike paths and parks abound.
What makes this property unique
While it is a townhouse design, only a very small portion of one wall is shared with the neighbors, making it a very private and quiet space. The 400' deck is wonderful in the warmer months, and the the fireplace burns real wood making The Buddha House very cozy in the colder months. The vaulted ceilings create a very spacious feeling, and light comes into the home from all sides. Because it is also my primary residence, I have original artwork throughout.
