About this property

Dream Canyon A Mountain Paradise Retreat

Just fifteen minutes west of Boulder, a place of relaxation, a getaway-from-it-all place that’s close to Boulder. At 7,600 feet, it is located near the base of Sugarloaf Mountain, overlooking Dream Canyon and the massive Lost Angel granite cliffs, above Boulder Falls — this reads like a fairy tale — it feels like that too — be sure to read the guest comments.

Everywhere you look you’ll feel the grandeur. The view from each window is a blessing for eye and soul — mountains, the continental divide, cliffs, sunrises, sunsets, and the intensity of stars in the night sky.

You can feel the silence along with gentle, soothing sounds of North Boulder Creek.

Google “The most beautiful rock climbing spots near Boulder” to see the Lost Angel Granite Cliffs that dominate the front yard.

An outdoor dining table gives a ringside seat to rock climbers, occasional slack-liners, and the abundant wildlife that passes through the property. Hummingbirds, Moose, Deer, Fox, Coyotes, Golden Eagles, Bears (rarely), and Elk.

This home is one level with flagstone floors. There are two bedrooms, two baths, and a multipurpose room (optionally a third bedroom, a dining room, or an office with a pull out queen futon ). The master bedroom has a walk-in shower and soaking tub for two and us open concept to bedroom walk in closet. Both bedrooms have queen beds. This home is nonsmoking and pet free zone for anyone with allergies to stay.

There’s 32” Roku Smart TV with guest mode to access all your subscriptions in living space.

The bedrooms, great room/ kitchen all have doors to allow access directly outside no screen doors.

The home has everything you need; bring your clothes, toiletries and a stop in town for groceries before heading up and it's your home away from home. It’s a great base for visiting Boulder, Nederland, and all the surrounding areas in the Peak To Peak region has to offer!
Getting around car or suv is fine in June thru August September to November all wheel drive or 4 wheel drive is recommended due to snow possibility. NO RVs or trailers no parking or area to turn around.

Rocky Mountain National Park, Indian Peaks Mountains on the Continental Divide, and Fourth of July trail near Eldora are a short drive.

The home is 45 miles, (approx. 1 hour) from the Denver Airport. Fifteen minutes to Boulder or Nederland for shopping and restaurants. Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park is 45 miles away (about 1 hour 15 minutes) via the Peak-to-Peak highway, which is a beautiful drive.

Mountain Retreat
We had a lovely stay on Sugarloaf Mountain. It was a mountain retreat getaway for us and the place is perfect for that. Still so close to Boulder, but so private and peaceful. The whole place has the feel of being intentionally designed as a spiritual retreat and that’s exactly what it was for us. Yes, the road down to the place is a very narrow steep dirt road, but totally manageable and totally worth it. We enjoyed a nearby hike down to Dream Canyon. We would love to return someday for a longer stay!

Clean, comfy, and cozy house, generously stocked with basics for the stay. The location is unbeatable, with breathtaking views of the canyon. Staying in this house made our wonderful visit even better. Interaction with Donna the property manager was easy, prompt and helpful. We LOVED this place!

Nice stay would consider returning
Enjoyed the stay. But have to be honest the 3K deposit was concerning. We paid a cleaning fee but the expectation of washing everything was over the top. The price per night was very good. View and experience was amazing. Turning around in the driveway was scary but overall things were well explained in the notes. I would recommend for the first night be sure to show up before dark. I am sure my sister will send a photo or two of Bob the young Moose. That was a highlight of the stay.

Following a profound spiritual awakening in 1992 he left the company and began many years of study that included self-awareness, heart-centered healing modalities, Jungian psychology, dream interpretation, and awakening. Why they chose this property

I didn't intend to buy property or build a home. I was house-sitting for a friend in the area. The first day, I took my dog for a walk. At the end of the driveway, I took a right and walked down N. Gulch Rd. In a forest area, I looked across the canyon and saw a beautiful area with a burned-out house. I thought, "I wonder if this land is for sale." The second day, we took a left. Coming down a deserted road, I saw the cliffs. Very moved by the sight, I caught my breath. A couple minutes later, I was at the burned-out house and I realized I was across the area from the day before.
A month later, I house-sat again and met the landlord. I did not tell him or anyone else about the land or the house.
A month after that, the landlord called me. He said, "How would you like to come look at some property I have for sale. I met him and he drove me down the road. He stopped at the area where I caught my breath at the sight of the cliffs and said, "This is it." So, I didn't choose. "Life" chose this property for me. It took six years to build my home. I received the Certificate of Occupancy last year -- May 2017.

What makes this property unique

The home is at ~7,600 ft. In the summer, the area is 10˚ cooler than Boulder and inside it's 10˚ cooler than outside. So, 90˚ in Boulder means 70˚ inside. By opening windows you can regulate the temperature.
The area will transmit its peace and quiet within you.
There's wildlife every day. They've all run from me, but beware; don't feed or approach them.
