Welcome to “The Stonefly”- a Yellowstone River front private property on 20 acres in coveted Tom Miner Basin. The custom-built European architecture inspired stone façade home is the perfect basecamp for your southwest Montana adventures. Enjoy ultimate privacy with immediate and easy river access on the property leading to a sandy beach, swimming hole, and fishing opportunities. Hiking and wildlife viewing are located just steps out the door on the old railroad bed and the adjacent National Forest state land. Tom Miner Basin boarders Yellowstone National Park without access roads and lends many opportunities for wildlife viewing and hiking.

The main level of The Stonefly boasts a king master bedroom with an en-suite bath and smart TV, fully stocked kitchen, spacious living room with vaulted ceilings, dining table, powder bathroom and laundry room with a washer and dryer. The wooden stair case leads you upstairs to a double twin loft sleeping area, full bathroom, queen bedroom and a second living area with a dedicated desk/work space and smart TV.

The home was recently purchased by new owners in 2023. The new homeowners have upgraded and updated all furniture and appliances for maximum comfort and functionality. Details include a smart fridge, new washer and dryer, a plush sectional couch, fast Starlink WiFi and a propane powered outdoor gas fire pit with outdoor seating on the covered back patio. The home also has a BBQ grill for outdoor cooking.

We had a wonderful time staying at the Stonefly. It was easy to travel into Yellowstone every day. The house was well equipped with everything we needed. Views from the house are beautiful. Also, we spent some time by the river which was easy to access. Highly recommend.

We absolutely loved our stay at Stonefly! House was so cute and just like photos. Very clean and mattress/bedding was extremely comfortable. Kitchen was well-equipped for us and we certainly weren’t lacking for anything. The views are just amazing inside and out. Felt so relaxed to enjoy a cup of coffee in the family room and enjoy the scenery. The location was just superb for us. Easy drive to Gardiner/Yellowstone as well as up to Emigrant to get some dinner. We really didn’t want to leave! Tanya was very communicative and responsive.

The Stonefly House was fantastic and the perfect vacation home for our family of 5. It’s a great location to Yellowstone National Park but also a convenient location to the BZN airport. All the supplies we needed were provided more and everything was clean and well taken care of. The beach area on the river was my children’s favorite part and we were even able to catch a few fish!

Perfect Home

This rental was absolutely perfect for our family of 4. Very clean. House had everything we needed. Incredible location too. Just over an hour from Bozeman airport and less than 40 minutes from north entrance to Yellowstone. We enjoyed the incredible view and having the river right in our backyard. We were initially concerned about no A/C. But even in July, it was very cool. Especially at night. Highly recommend this home!

Beautiful home, close to north Yellowstone

We enjoyed this house very much, on the river, secluded, the kitchen was easy to cook in, and everything was clean and comfy. Definitely recommend staying here. The only problem we had was the bridge was out and we had to make a long drive in and out, but once the bridge is fixed, it will be extremely convenient.

Beautiful place and beautiful scenery. I only wished it had air I would suggest bring some plastic storage food containers if you plan on eating in. Over all great place and great experience!

Great house and ease of access (with pros and cons!)

The house had a lovely lay-out with an extra upstairs area for TV, separate from the living room which was open to the dining room and kitchen. While it was warm during the day on the (very hot!) first couple of days, opening the windows in the evening cooled it down well at night. Everything was clean and well-equipped, with good information about local opportunities. Although the closest bridge across the river is being fixed, it's not all that difficult to go the 5 miles to the next access to route 89, and then it's an easy run up to Livingston/Bozeman or down to Yellowstone. That ease of access is because the house is right across the river from 89 - it's not a major highway (just one lane each way) but if you want total quiet, then it's not the house for you. If you don't mind the sound of cars passing, then the accessibility is an advantage (and more so once the bridge is fixed). There is lovely walking right from the house and an amazing bear-viewing area just a few miles into the hills.

First off, the host Tanya, is great to work with and extremely responsive. She was wonderful! She is truly a host that cares about her guests. We contacted her to let her know we would be arriving late due to a delayed flight and she made sure to leave all the lights on for us. It was so appreciated!!Next, The house was perfect, exactly like the pictures. Clean, clean, clean!!!!! I am very picky about clean houses and this was spotless! The house is decorated just perfect for the cabin with all the furniture in great shape, and not worn down like in some rentals. Each bedroom has plenty of space, with extra blankets, pillows, and hangers in the closets. The kitchen has plenty of the necessary items (and loads of extras) to make meals for a family, which we used every day. Loved the ice maker on the new fridge that had 2 different sizes of ice! We grilled outside in the gas grill on the patio and watched Elk roam around while we were outside using the fire pit, super fun!!. When we woke up in the mornings, the views of the mountains and river from the dining room made our day. The gasps and wows coming from our 3 sons as they sat looking out the window instead of looking at their phones was a thrill. I know it says it has tv’s but we honestly never even looked for them as we were always looking out the windows at the views! We used the washer and dryer multiple times and they are newer large capacity front loading that worked like a dream. Would stay again 1000%
