Ashley was an extremely communicative, generous and welcoming host! She did everything to accommodate my family and pets and it was a pleasure to interact with her. The house is perfectly situated on the lake and was clean and comfortable. It was just the right spot for a family gathering!
Awesome house with everything you need. Beautiful spot. Great hosts. Lots of fun for everyone, including our family dog :) Many thanks to our hosts for a wonderful vacation week!
We had a great stay at Ashley's cabin. The location was beautiful and convenient to our son's graduation from Bates College. The cabin had everything we needed to be comfortable, make food, chat, and sleep soundly. We wished we had more time to explore the lake and surroundings. Maybe next time!
The hosts are amazing! Gracious, attentive, and they have truly thought of everything to make the stay a wonderfully easy and memorable experience. The cabin is equipped with practically everything! Our group of 9 stayed for 5 days, and didn’t need for anything. We came with teens, adults, kids, dogs and a toddler, this property made everyone happy. The house is super dog friendly! Actually that is an understatement. The property was obviously designed with our furry friends in mind, which was a huge benefit, and made the dogs a zero stress situation. With that said, the cabin was super clean, and didn’t smell like pets. The water was high in the pond, so the beach was covered, but it made for safe and convenient swimming for all ages. Nice and shallow out a long ways, but deep enough that we were able to catch a massive bass in the evening from the private dock. This property was absolutely the most well appointed and welcoming vacation property our family has encountered, and we hope to enjoy it again in the future. It might become our annual family retreat spot. Thank you again to the wonderful hosts. Highly recommended!!

Disappointed!
Disappointed because the ceiling fans were filthy, layers of dust and idrt, couldn't use then for that reason. The standing fan in the upstairs bedroom was also quite dirty.
The upstairs bathroom exhaust fan cover was very dirty. The window screens in the kitchen we so dirty that it was difficultto see out. What is the cleaning fee being used for, especially when the owner asks the guest to put the sheets in the washer and do light vacumming. This was not in the original information.

Hi Greg,
I was really disappointed to read your review, especially since none of your concerns were mentioned during your stay. As we discussed during check-in, we were just a short distance away and could have easily addressed any issues if you had let us know. I wish you had given us the chance to make things right.
It’s frustrating when people focus only on the negative aspects of their stay without acknowledging the positives, which seems to be the case here. For instance, we accommodated your request for early check-in at no extra charge, and the property was fully stocked with everything you might need—complimentary toiletries, a s’mores kit, yard games, two grills, stunning views, coffee and tea, and much more.
You mentioned being bothered when we asked if you could start a load of laundry. I’m sorry that upset you, but I want to clarify that it’s not a requirement. It’s simply a favor we ask, if it doesn’t inconvenience you, to help our cleaning team turn over the property more efficiently—something that ultimately benefits guests like yourself who requested early check-in.
Regarding the vacuuming, I’m sorry if there was any confusion. The checkout instructions don’t require vacuuming unless you have a pet, which you didn’t.
Regardless, I left you a 5-star review because things happen, and we’re always looking to improve. We also cleaned the fans the very next day after your stay.
Our group of 11 to 13 humans, ages 11 to 81, and 1 dog had a great time at this location for 6 days. The lake was nice for swimming, tubing, knee boarding, & fishing. The yard is large & we used the firepit several nights. The large deck with the grill & Blackstone was an excellent place for meals and for our annual family talent show. The dog enclosure was nice to have. Enough room for sleeping lots of people is always challenging. I can see how 15 people could fit if all the living room couches/pull out beds upstairs & down were used. We opted to bring a 6-person camper, with Ashley’s permission, so that we had more options. The kitchen was well-stocked with cookware, & the gas stove was great. The oversized washer & dryer were a plus. The property description states the property is not wheelchair accessible. I had assumed that pertained to the house. I would have appreciated knowing beforehand that there is actually a 74-step wooden stairway from the yard down to the lake/dock, and the dock & shorefront are not visible from the house or yard. I can see a stairway in the photos but did not think it was so steep as it is hidden in the trees. At ages 81 and 76, my husband and I managed just fine, and we were better off for the extra exercise at the end of the week, but it may not work for some. Overall, it was a memorable, happy summer week. Ashley was prompt, positive, and helpful in responding to any question/request over the 5 months between our reservation and our stay.
