This was an absolutely beautiful property, and we had a wonderful stay. It’s rare to have a weekend getaway with 25 people where everyone leaves happy and nothing goes wrong, but that’s exactly what we experienced, and we are so grateful! We’ll never forget fishing under the stars and enjoying the beauty of Lake Harmony from right outside our windows!
We just completed a seven-day stay with our 19-member family, including nine grandchildren. The grandparents, parents, and kids had a wonderful time. The two houses easily held the group, with different venues: nice kitchens, living rooms, game rooms, three tree-shaded patios, kayaksinflatable raft. The swimming area between the two docks was perfect for the littlest kids, and the area around the docks was a nice swim for the older kids. The lake runs most of a mile - an interesting kayak trip, although at busy times on the lake (the weekends, maybe?) some larger boats were out on the water. The property is a twenty-minute drive from the swimming area at Hickory Run State Park (BTW the boulder field is very interesting, and a fun challenge for kids... say, ages four and up). Nice barbeque.
We had a really nice weekend staying at this property. It was very convenient for us to go skiing at Jack Frost, which was a short drive. The house is beautifully located, and we really enjoyed using the hot tub with the amazing view of the frozen lake. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook, and the property was not short on games with the pool table, air hockey table, and standing arcade. Barry and Skylar were very responsive hosts. I highly recommend this property.
The place was amazing!! The owners were very friendly and available righ away if we needed anything! Amazing place!! Looking forward to come back in summer!!
Really liked how the property had two houses, lots of parking and lots of room for everyone to spread out. The ability to use the kayaks and tubes was also great.

Jay,
We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay and that there was more than enough room for your group. We do hope you will consider renting with us again in the future.
Stayed here with a big group of guys, the house is great for a large group. Perfect location, plenty of beds, highly recommend. Just note they don't supply any sheets for the 18 beds, I bought cheap ones at Walmart so nbd
Everything was exactly as described on the website. Place was a little older but it has charm and a unique setup. Close to everything in town, great location. Place worked great for my group. Owners were super easy to deal with!!
This house is as described, Barry the owner is a great guy informative and thorough great for a family getaway where ages range, the cottage, and the main house are a great mix!
We would stay at this house again!
It was great staying at the houses…having the lakefront cottage as well as the Main house was fantastic! We were able to golf, fish and even swim in the lake in early June! We had a great time…Barry and Skylar’s communication was fantastic!

We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay and took advantage of what lake harmony has to offer. You were a wonderful guest and we hope that you will come back again.
We had an amazing week staying on Lake Harmony. Our property included everything we needed for a great week and was well stocked, with things to do to keep all ages occupied. Would definitely recommend this property to others. Communication with the owner was easy as well. Overall great experience.
Our large family had a wonderful stay! We pretty lived outside on the dock and in the water. There were lots of chairs and tables to accommodate our crew. We really enjoyed the lake cottage, it made hanging out by the lake all day super easy. The hosts were super responsive to our requests!

We had a great time! It was great for a 3 year old and a 60 year old.
The weather was great and there was plenty of space for all 19 of us!
Looking forward to another visit.
My family was extremely satisfied with this property for our quick family getaway. Gorgeous view overlooking the lake, and very close to Big Boulder slopes where we went skiing. We also enjoyed using the fire pit and roasting marshmallows. The two hot tubs, one outside overlooking the lake and the other inside, was an added bonus. The hosts were very responsive and accommodating as well. We had a great time and I would highly recommend this property.
We were a 3-generation family group and this was a great property for us for several reasons. There was excellent water access with a nice shallow swim area for kids, docks and storage space for our paddle boards and floats, space to set up our lawn games, and still space for folks to sit by the dock and read. Check in was easy and fast. Parking access to both houses is excellent. Having two kitchens meant we had a breakfast/lunch cabin and a dinner house, which worked really well. We also enjoyed the bar/game room. We had a very fun time and the space was perfect for us.
Great place for multigenerational vacation. Quite comfortable for children and pets. Plenty of things to do lakeside and in the house. We love the beach but found some definite advantages to lake life.( No sand!) We have become lake people!
Stayed for Labor Day weekend as a group of 13 of us and had a great time! The rooms were spacious and there was plenty of space for all of us. The hosts were very quick to respond with any questions we had which was greatly appreciated. Having the lake on the property was everything we had hoped for. Beautiful views! We were also walking distance to the restaurants on the lake which we also took advantage of. Definitely recommend this house to anyone looking for a relaxing and spacious trip on the lake. We're already planning on coming back next year!
Our stay in the Poconos was fantastic! From the moment we arrived, we felt right at home. The property was beautiful and well-maintained, offering everything we needed for a perfect escape. We enjoyed a delicious steak dinner using the grill, followed by a peaceful evening relaxing by the lake. The mornings were just as delightful, with coffee overlooking the calm waters—such a serene way to start the day.
The manager was fantastic, attentive, and responsive, making sure our stay was seamless. Their care and attention to detail made a real difference, and it’s clear they’re dedicated to making each guest’s experience exceptional. We can’t wait to return to this beautiful retreat!

A group of my friends and I rented the large lake house to celebrate my 30th birthday! We had a blast! The house was great! Lots of beds to accommodate a large group! So much to do! We grilled food and hung out on the deck on a surprisingly warm December weekend- then we played pool and enjoyed the hot tub! ...and later we were able to walk to shenanigans in under 5 mins! The owner was very helpful with anything we needed..We would definitely use this home again!
Spacious Lakefront Getaway with Stunning Views & Great Hospitality
Our group had an amazing stay at this Poconos house! The lake views were absolutely stunning, making for a peaceful and scenic getaway. The house was spacious and easily accommodated our large party, with plenty of room for everyone to relax and enjoy. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed, which made cooking meals a breeze. It was great to have all the essentials on hand, especially for a big group. The host was incredibly responsive and helpful throughout our stay, ensuring we had everything we needed. One suggestion for improvement would be to update the couch, as it was quite uncomfortable for lounging. Other than that, everything was fantastic! We would definitely recommend this rental and would love to return in the future.

We are so happy Christian enjoyed his stay at our property. I just wanted to comment regarding the couch. Couch comfort is typically very subjective and based on each individual. This is the first complaint we have received regarding the couch, and most of the guests really like the leather sectional.
We stayed at this property for a family reunion - 16 people ages 1 year to 95 years young. The two houses had plenty of room for all of us, and we totally enjoyed using the outdoor areas like the decks and the docks. Barry is a great host and was quick to resolve any issues we had and was very helpful throughout our stay. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchens stocked with pretty much anything you might need to do all your cooking for meals right there, which we did. We did not use the linen service, and that worked just fine for us. It is shallow right off the docks, and that worked great for the younger kids to be able to swim between them in a protected area. I would not hesitate to rent this property again.

Disappointed
The photos of the property on VRBO made us believe it was as a relatively new construction, hi-end given the cost , which met our needs in terms of numbers and location for a family reunion. Upon arrival we struck by the condition of both the house and the grounds- the house and cottage much older and the grounds looking unkempt. The stairs between the houses are hazardous, necessitating concern and care especially with older adults and children. While the place was surface clean and the furniture comfortable, the appliances were old and in some cases not working, the hot pads filthy and many things showing age, like missing screens , old poorly- coated aluminum cookware and faded bed covers ( we had to bring our own sheets or pay for a service in addition to our rental fee) . We did our best and enjoyed our time together but unfortunately would not recommend this to anyone. I hope the owners will consider razing the place and rebuilding- it’s a nice spot.

As of this writing this property has over 120 reviews, all five stars. Some people look for problems and then try to get a refund, so you need to take this review with a grain of salt. Suggesting we raze the houses and rebuild is the best indication of how ridiculous this guest's comments are.
There is nothing in the photos or the description to suggest this is new construction and the off season rate this guest paid was actually a bargain for two houses that can accommodate over 22 people right on the lake, with two hot tubs, pool table, arcade, outdoor fire pit, and much more.. There is nothing hazardous about the stairs, other than they are stairs and I guess that was difficult for these guests. No other guests have complained. As for appliances, the complaint was as to a coffee maker - each house has two coffee makers - keurig and filter. They said one coffee maker did not work (turned out it actually it did work - user error), so I offered to have a new one brought over. Guest said 3 was enough - I have the texts to prove this. The cookware is continually replaced as needed, but we do not put new cookware there for every guest. We own 10 houses in the area (all with almost exclusively 5 star reviews) and have a storage facility where we keep extra bed covers, etc, and if a guest is not satisfied with anything, we replace it. I wish I had the space here to include all the texts back and forth with this guest, who was a problem from the get go, including them not following the instructions as to trash and causing a huge problem with the wild life and my bear box to be damaged. As for linens, we do not charge for them as an extra (saving VRBO fees and tax if a guest wants them), but they can be obtained locally for a very small fee if guests need them. Most guests prefer to bring their own. This is fully disclosed on VRBO. Finally as to the condition of the houses, while not brand new they are continually updated. The cottage has new carpeting, newly painted, new furniture in the living room, new beds, and more. You will notice no complaints about any of these major things, but instead this guest focused on things like one of four coffee makers and that they did not like having to walk on the stairs (also, you can walk down the driveway to get from one house to the other, and avoid stairs if you do not like walking on stairs).

The indoor hot tub was broken and the jacuzzi tub did not have sufficient hot water. The only path into the house wasn't adequately shoveled when we arrived so we had to bring in luggage and kids over a snowy and icy path. The owners shoveled some but it was very icy. There was moldy food in the fridge when we arrived and food wrappers in one of the bedrooms. Some of the bedding and pillows were visibly stained or dirty. Something to know before booking: They are clear that they don't provide sheets and towels but we didn't find out until after booking that they expect the guest to bring a lot of basic things (toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap, dish soap, garbage bags) and they expect guests to undertake a very thorough cleaning on the way out. Including removing ashes from the fireplace that they don't provide a shovel for.The place felt pretty run down (broken walls, ceiling panels, holes in various things or broken things.) The host was defensive about these issues, though they were apologetic about the hot tub. For the most part they dismissed the issues we experienced. They offered us a 250 refund off of a 6k booking which didn't really feel like they took the issues we experienced seriously. We haven't received it though. The hosts were very responsive and offered us towels up front (though they were delivered late) and a late check out. Communication started out good but broke down when we disagreed over the issues we raised.

I am a Premier Partner and have been renting this house since 2009. Initially, I have to say that this was one of the most unpleasant guests I have ever had. I have 138 reviews at 10/10 stars for a reason, so please take this one with a grain of salt.
Upon arrival, there was an issue with the indoor hot tub. I immediately sent someone over, but they were unable to fix the problem at that time. It has since been fixed and is functioning properly. I apologized to this guest, and offered a refund for the 1 hot tub not working. The second hot tub had no issues, so they did still have a working hot tub. I was never defensive to this guest. They were in fact extremely rude to me as I tried to assist them. Most of the issues were very minor, and it became evident that this guest just wanted to get a significant refund that did not match the issues. It seemed like they intentionally went around the house looking for any minor defect which I think is evident from the pictures she has posted. The ceiling tiles were offline from when we had someone doing some work and he did not put it back down all the way. They have since been realigned. The middle of a door has a small chip, but there is nothing wrong with the door. The other two minor damages we will fix. These are hardly anything worthy of a major refund. Sometimes there are minor damages we are unaware of, but we do fix everything.
As for the snow path, it shows how out of touch this guest is with reality. We had over 2ft of snow and ice, and temperatures remained well below freezing, and into the negatives, for almost a full month. As time went on the snow only got more difficult to shovel. It was frozen and compact, and we made an appropriate path and salted it. The parking areas were all professionally plowed. I had several other guests stay at the house who had no problems with our path. We also have shovels at the house if guests want to do more areas.
As for cleaning, the cleaner supposedly forgot to check the fridge, and there was some food in one of them (the houses have 3 full size refrigerators). There was 1 pillow that had a stain (there is far more than 1 pillow per person), and an issue with 1 mattress pad. I immediately supplied a fresh pillow and mattress pad as we have extra of everything. I apologized for this, and spoke with the cleaner to make sure this was just a one off oversight. Look at our cleaning score and you will see this is not typical. We offered an appropriate refund for this small cleaning breakdown.
As for the basics, everything is disclosed, and also is in the lease which VRBO makes available to look at BEFORE booking. We do include many of these items. There is at least 1 toilet paper roll per bathroom, we provide a paper towel roll in the kitchen, there is hand soap and dish soap at the house, and we do provide the initial garbage bags and leave a few extra at the house. We provide all the basics to get you started with your stay, and certainly enough for one weekend.
We offered the guest what we thought was appropriate compensation. The total she says she paid for the rental, we do not get all of that. VRBO and tax take away almost 1/3 of that total. She at no point accepted the refund offer and only after she posted this review did she ask for what we offered to her, which we immediately paid through VRBO.
I am happy to answer any questions if there are any further questions regarding this review.
