About this property
Relaxing Waterfront Home on Elm Island Great Fishing on Lake Tichigan/Fox River
Beautiful 3 bedroom 2 bath home on Elm Island bay off of the Fox River in Waterford, WI. This home has all of the charm of an up-north cabin, but is fully updated and just a short 30 minute drive from Milwaukee and less than an hour from Chicago's northern suburbs. Single story home with little to no stairs required to get to the water less than twenty steps from the back door. Wood burning stove and tongue and groove pine finishes give you that up north feel, but all of the updates will make you feel right at home. Laundry on the living level and two full bathrooms offer convenience and comfort. Sleeping arrangements for 10 if needed: Master bedroom features a queen size memory foam bed, 2nd bedroom facing the water has a bunk bed with full size mattress on the bottom and a twin on the top, 3rd bedroom has a bunk bed with full size mattress on the bottom and a twin on the top, and living room couch pulls out into a queen size sleeper sofa. Kitchen table seating for six or seven people, with additional stools and eating area at the island. All kitchen appliances are less than 5 years old, including refrigerator, stove, and over the range microwave. Bring your fishing poles and swim trunks - the Fox River and Lake Tichigan are abundant with Largemouth Bass and Catfish, and provide plenty of opportunity for Bluegills, Northern Pike, Walleye, and an occasional Trout. Lake Tichigan is great for swimming or boating, and there are more than one restaurants accessible by boat and provide docking. Bring your own boat and keep it on the private pier or take advantage of the two complimentary kayaks. Elm Island bay is a shallow low-traffic bay off of the Fox River and is home to swans and abundant wildlife. Fishermen frequent the bay in search of Largemouth Bass, Bluegills, and Catfish, all of which can be caught right from the pier. Swimming in Elm Island Bay (off the pier) is not desirable due to shallow water, lillypads, weeds and mucky bottom. In the evening you can have a fire in the back yard or in the house, but the furnace will keep you warm if desired or central air is there to cool you down. Ultra-fast 60 Mbps Wi-Fi and 46" LED TV will keep you entertained if the fishing and lake cannot. YouTube TV HD with approximately 80 channels available and also HD upconvert DVD player. Please come relax and enjoy all that the beautiful Fox River and Lake Tichigan have to offer year-round.

Great cozy lake house that was perfect for a family catch up after a funeral. Plenty of yard with a beautiful lake view. Amenities were there and beds were so comfortable!
Grant was wonderful and personable. He was great at communication and called several times to ensure our upcoming stay would be perfect. And it was indeed. The home was beautiful and clean.Stay instructions were readily available and easy to abide by.Would definitely stay with him again.
This is our Home away from home. My family of 7 (including our pup) enjoy ourselves fully here. A lot of places aren't very welcoming of dogs and this has everything we needed. Fishing, open air, kayaks, indoor/outdoor fireplaces and the peace you need to reset your mind. Having 2 bathrooms, access to a washer/ dryer and a fullly equipped kitchen is an even bigger bonus. The neighborhood is so peaceful, friendly and not once did we feel unsafe. Grant is very kind and quick to respond to any questions we had. I highly recommend!!
Was very nice parking, inside was clean, very well decorated:) loved the Moose head!:)lolFenced in backyard for the dogie to have the time of his life. Ill be renting this home again.
The house was beautiful and spacious! Plenty of room for my friend and I for the weekend. Spacious driveway. Great access to the lake. Great neighborhood! The host was very friendly and helpful. I would absolutely stay here again! 10/10!
The house was perfect for our family trip. Grant was a great host and the communication before and during our stay was fantastic. We really appreciated that it was pet friendly.
This home is my absolutely our favorite getaway. There is everything you need and the fishing is great. This is our second year and we plan on many more.Thank you to Grant and his family for a wonderful stay.
The bedrooms were clean & straightforward. The common area was comfortable for everyone. The kitchen was complete & easy-to-use. We appreciated that the place was pet-friendly!
We have been HomeAway owners since 2015 and enjoy sharing our home with others when we are not there to take advantage of it ourselves. We strive to provide the best possible experience for every guest. Our permanent residence is close enough that we can respond quickly if needed and regularly maintain the property.
Why they chose this property
Relaxation in a cozy atmosphere with serene view and the feeling of being away from it all. Priced affordably for everyone without cleaning fees, management fees, or hidden costs for groups of six or less, but can accommodate a larger family for slightly more if needed.
What makes this property unique
Our home is located on a peninsula which is bordered by the Fox River and Elm Island Bay. The bay looks like a small lake, but is connected to the river which is navigable with any outboard motor for nearly seven miles. Lake Tichigan is a beautiful lake north of our home that is a gorgeous, winding river ride away, boasting depths of 60 feet, sandbars, a nature conservancy, great fishing, wakeboarding, waterskiing, tubing, and swimming. It is the home of an annual hot air balloon festival, a fireworks show launched from the center of the lake on the 4th of July, and of course an annual boat tie-up party with a band on a barge. Waterford has fun for all seasons including hiking, biking, fall colors, Bird watching, ice fishing, cross country skiing, and two downhill ski hills within 25 minutes of our home. Elm Island Bay is home to swans, blue herons, sand hill cranes, ducks, bluegills, bass, catfish, and even some walleye and northern pike. Our pier/dock stays in the water and ice year round without damage, allowing anglers to fish as soon as the ice is gone and up to the minute that it first freezes.
