We loved our stay at the Prohibition Hideaway! Kelsey and Logan are amazing hosts and welcomed us with homemade cookies upon arrival. The next morning they dropped off a delicious breakfast basket! We loved the property and would absolutely stay there again.
If you are coming to Nevada City / Grass Valley, this is an “must stay” property. Very close to downtown Nevada City, easily walkable for most, nicely appointed with character. Outstanding experience with the host family, great communication and prompt responses. I highly recommend!
This was a great spot for all of us today for my nieces wedding. The theme of the home was really cool and decor to suit. Very comfortable beds and good AC. There were 3 women and 4 men so the 3 bathrooms was nice with a large one to share for two couples upstairs and two king bed rooms with bathrooms downstairs. Highly recommend this spot for a group and 8 min walk to town.
House is adorable, beds were comfortable, added snacks, cookies, wine etc were a wonderful bonus! Lindsey was very responsive and helpful with questions and it’s a perfect short walking distance to downtown.
We had the best time! The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed, the house was so cute and beds were extremely comfy. The house is so close to downtown, we walked everywhere. Would definitely stay here again.
Great place and loved the location . We were able to walk to town both days ! 4 bedrooms worked great for the 2 families . Excellent communication and recommendations from the host . If you want a place walkable to town ( Nevada City) I would recommend the a prohibition!
The decor was fun and perfect for our annual girls' weekend. Be prepared for lots of stairs and bring slipper socks as there is a 'no shoes' policy indoors.
Found this charming prohibition themed home online and had to book it for my birthday weekend! Invited 3 friends and we had a wonderful time eating, drinking, sightseeing and hiking. Everyone loved the decor and setup of the house. So convenient to walk to town too!
The house was super cute and the hosts were the best! It was difficult to find the house, there needs to be some sort of sign on the street to identify the driveway. We had a great visit with family in the area.
Stayed here with my high school girl friends. The themed rooms were great. The house was comfortable. Downtown was super cute & close. Hidden gem for sure!!
The host is really what makes this place a five star review. Her communication was great and she went above and beyond to accommodate our stay. The place was very clean and the host provided all the necessities you need for a stay (toothbrushes, floss, breakfast, snacks, shampoo, conditioner). The location was good and a short 8-10 minute walk to Nevada City.
We had the perfect weekend in Nevada City mostly thanks to Kelsey and her incredible hospitality. The house is super clean and very cute, and a short walk to downtown where all the restaurant are. Kelsey gave us a great list of recommendations and we end up doing a lot of activities from the list. Her welcome basket had the most delicious cookies, muffins, and an amazing frittata we had for breakfast, and you can tell she puts so much care into hosting. I definitely recommend this place and we hope to come back soon!
It was amazing! They put so much thought in the 1920s theme decor. Each bedroom had its own specific 1920s theme which gave the house an extra special feel to it. The hosts seemed very nice and were quick to respond. They left snacks for us, and they asked about dietary restrictions before doing so. They left fresh cookies! They also offered a bottle of wine, I don't drink, but it was a nice gesture. The house was very spacious and had cool little things around the house (ex. Reading nook, record player, board games, etc). Kitchen had lots of equipment and dishware. Towels and toiletries were provided. 10/10 would definitely recommend. I wish I could've stayed longer.
