Lake Jocassee retreat on two acres!! New hot tub, Devil’s Fork State Park
Come relax in this Upstate, SC paradise!
Gorgeous A-Frame on 2-acres, down the road from Devil's Fork State Park! Wake up to coffee on the balcony, lunch on the gazebo, then jump in the clear blue waters of Lake Jocassee.
2/3 mile from the State Park boat ramp, it's a short drive or a brisk walk away from one of the most beautiful clear lakes in the US. Kayak rentals and boat tours are available from nearby businesses.
Just over an hour from the Greenville-Spartanburg area, and about 30 minutes from Clemson. An hour and a half beautiful mountainous drive from Ashville, NC. The house is located adjacent to Devil's Fork State Park, and guests have access to all the park has to offer. The house is "behind the entrance" to the park, which makes it and the park accessible even when the park is declared "full" by the Rangers.
Please be aware that, like many locations near mountains and lakes, we are “out in the woods.” With that closeness to nature you also will encounter some critters. There are bears, armadillos, etc. on and near the property. Please be especially mindful when bringing pets with you. You’ll also likely encounter smaller creatures such as the seasonal ladybug swarms in Oct-Nov, and “no-see-ums” in the summer. We treat the house the best we can, but the occasional bug or bug family will likely get past our defenses. We do all we can to mitigate this, but want you to be fully aware.

Beautiful home and location! Plenty of room inside and out. Home felt brand new. Had a few questions for the owner before the trip and they were very responsive and friendly! Would completely recommend this home!
Wonderful stay! House was exactly as described and the owner was super friendly and communicative. Location is perfect for putting the boat on the water at Devil’s Fork. We will stay here again!
Amazing property and I am a realtor and property manager with high expectations. Very accommodating
Very clean, beautiful and serene views, great location, extremely accommodating hosts, comfy beds, perfect getaway to the beautiful Lake Jocassee, this was a trip for the books
Very comfortable and clean. Lots of fun for the kids. Hot tub, lunch in the picturesque gazebo, and smores by the fire pit. Lake Jocasee is such a unique location and this home and hosts completed a great weekend getaway. Not much dining nearby but the kitchen has everything you need and more. These hosts are very generous in that area. We found the mattresses quite comfortable and we have back problems. Highly recommend Jocassee lake tours company (pontoon boats with a naturalist guide) as a tour of this fascinating lake and its wonderful views is not to be missed. You need to be on a boat to really see the wonders of this lake.
It was just as pictured and even had beautifully manicured grounds. The house was fresh and new feeling. Thoroughly stocked kitchen and bathrooms with much appreciated little extras that we might have not thought to bring. Coffee was delicious! We rented pontoon boats just up the road and boarded at the park. Very convenient and a park pass was at the house for us. Everything was easy and so nice. Ample parking at the house for our 4 large vehicles and a boat& trailer. We'll be back!!!
Great place to stay with easy access to the lake. Well stocked kitchen. We brought enough food to cook since not many restaurants close by. Beautiful property
Had a wonderful weekend at this house. We kayaked, ate well and sat in the very nice living room and crocheted. Was a perfect set-up for myself and 2 friends.
My family and I stayed at Michael’s property over the week of July 4th with our dogs. We had the best experience! The location is great - only 5 minutes from the state park. The property had plenty of space to spread out and relax. We will definitely be rebooking in the future.
We had a wonderful time at Michael’s home. It was sparkling clean , beautiful and cozy. It had everything we needed to cook meals but we decided to enjoy meals out at local restaurants .We hiked during the day and came home in the evening to enjoy the hot tub and a wonderful night’s sleep in the super comfie beds! We drove into Greenville one day to bike on The Swamp Ranbit Trail and have dinner. We will definitely rent this home again! Thank you Michael for being an outstanding host
Our week at Lake Jocassee was the perfect opportunity to unplug and rest. We were able to visit a few of the local parks. The views are incredible! We rented a boat just a few minutes from the house and explored all of the lake’s waterfalls. The property is a short drive to the beach. Michael was incredibly responsive and helpful. The neighbors were lovely as well; although there is plenty of space between homes. The property was beautifully kept. Hot tub, fire pit, grill, and family friendly games on site. Highly recommend this spot; we are already planning another visit.

Thank you so much, Valerie. We love to hear that our guests enjoyed themselves so much!! And yes, please come back again anytime.
We spent the days on the lake and the evenings playing games and chillaxin in this very cool home in the mountains. Great times had by all. Thank you so much. Will seek out again if available.
10/10 would definitely recommend!!!! The house and scenery are gorgeous!!! The online pics were exactly what we got. The hot tub was so nice and relaxing. The gazebo was great for relaxing and playing cards. Our only complaint was not nearly enough towels and washcloths. We had 6 people and 4 towels and 4 washcloths. Had to wash them for everyone to be able to shower. Also, while sitting under gazebo, the neighbors decided to start shooting their guns repeatedly for about 2 hours. But, we are use to that seeing that it's hunting season and we live in the deep country also. All in all, we truly enjoyed our stay and would love to return to stay longer. We visited the state park and sisters restaurant for breakfast. Awesome food!!!! Also, this is not a lake front property. However, the lake is a very short driving distance
This house was very clean. Definite pride in ownership. Michael and Beverly made themselves available but this place was so well staged, we didn't need to bother them for anything. I would stay here again.
P.S. Love the labeling!!! Very helpful!
First of all, it is a very lovely home. Clean, quiet and so convenient to the lake. The problem we had was those big windows in the front of the house don't all have shades and in July/August you can't sit on the couch, late afternoon, without being blinded or watch TV due to the glare, not to mention the solar gain it creates. Also, we were disappointed that there was no icemaker. Since we were there during the hottest part of summer, we were not able to enjoy the hot tub or the other outdoor amenities which I'm sure would be nice earlier in the year or in September or October.
This house has everything you need for a cozy family and friends stay. The lot is beautiful and the lake is just a quick drive away. The neighbors put on a great July 4th fireworks show we could watch from the front porch. Only minor drawback is the busy main road in front of the house. Also, the downstairs beds are not as comfy as the master. Overall we were delighted with our stay even with rain, and would return again.

Thank you very much for the candid feedback Andrea! We took your review to heart and have updated the downstairs mattresses. Thanks again!
We are visiting the area because we are considering a move to SC. The house and property are beautiful and well appointed. We were a party of 4 but 8 people could easily occupy the same space. The owners are great. They accommodated us at the last minute which was a big help. We were able to walk to Jocassee Lake. The water is so clean. The swimming was so refreshing. Great stay. We will definitely return.
Staying here is similar to staying "on property" at a Disney resort - you are a 3 minute drive to kayak, canoe and pontoon rentals at the State Park. Very convenient if you plan on doing any of those activities. The home is a beautiful A-frame house and when we arrived it was well prepared, stocked and extremely clean - I'm an OCD clean-freak and it met my standards. The home is nicely laid out with the master suite on 2nd floor. The property is huge and beautifully landscaped with a fire pit and plenty of lawn to throw the football with kids or let the dogs run. The hot tub was a great feature and provided a nice way to a hard day of paddling or hiking. The outdoor covered gazebo and screened-in patio were used daily - a great way to enjoy a cup of coffee in the AM while you wait for everyone to wake up or read a book. The house had a coffee maker, board games, and extra towels and linens even though we brought our own out of habit. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioning cooled the home nicely. Tons to do in the area EXCEPT come prepared with food to cook. There are no grocery stores or restaurants nearby. Closest supermarket is in Pickens 30 mins away. Your closest option for food is Habanero's Mexican Restaurant 15 mins away near Salem (actually a good restaurant - don't judge a book by its cover). Other than that- no other restaurants save for a nearby brewery that has a food truck sometimes. Great stay!!! Thank you! We will return.
Beautiful home. Easy access to lake jocassee. Everything you need for a great vacation. Hosts were very helpful with any questions/issues.
