River House with exceptional view

Fish, Swim, Kayak, hike or just relax, and recharge, as you listen to the flowing water of the Chattahoochee river at this cozy mountain retreat. Look out at the spectacular view of Georgia's national forests, and the Chattahoochee river rushing across river rocks from any of our three decks. Enjoy our private beach, where you will find a pool area and several gentle rapids. Put your chair at the river’s edge, dip your feet in the clear cool water, read your favorite book, or go for a swim. Take your fishing pole and try your luck at catching bass or trout and grill it back at the cabin.
The cabin’s three high decks provide a dramatic view, but are not appropriate for kids under five years of age. All three decks overlook the Chattahoochee and have comfortable outdoor furnishings as well as a grill on middle deck. Enjoy a relaxing cup of coffee, breakfast or a picnic near the beach area as you take in the magnificent view before you. Every room has been tastefully decorated. Downstairs bedroom has a Queen bed, and full bathroom with tub. Upstairs bedroom has a queen bed and an additional half bathroom also a queen size futon. The cabin is best suited for a family with two kids or one couple, but no more then four guests including day guests. The cabin has everything you’ll need for a long week-end or a week long getaway, The kitchen has brand new appliances and is well stocked, washer and dryer, as well as Wifi are all available to you. Each and every room fills with the sound of the gentle rush of the river. A fireplace in the living room gives this cabin a cozy feel in the cooler months. Upstairs you will find the game room with foosball table and air hockey. A flatscreen TV is in the living room and upstairs bedroom with movies at your fingertips. Located close to Helen(25 min.), Sauté Nacochee, Clarksville, Cleveland, and Dahlonega, but just far enough away for a peaceful retreat in this private community. When you are ready to explore further,you are close enough to everything; including shops, restaurants and entertainment, award winning wineries, art galleries, theater and more.
If you lack for anything, we have family who takes care of the cabin and lives close by. Check in is at 4:00pm and check out is at 11:00am.
Our cabin is completely smoke free and we do not allow pets, for health reasons of some of our family members, who also use the cabin.

An incredible view from both balconies, among peaceful surroundings. A clean home with plenty of amenities, including a warm gas fireplace for ambience. A good place to recharge, and within driving distance to Helen and other sites.

Beautiful cabin!

I stayed here with a fishing friend for a weekend that we were there fishing, we could not have been happier with the location, view of the river, comfortable cabin and balcony/deck overlooking the river. I will definitely stay here again!

You can barely see the adjacent properties as the properties are bordered with trees and landscaping. This property has all kinds of games and movies to watch. The gas fireplace is easy and convenient. The river access is awesome and beautiful.

Christmas Getaway

The view alone here is worth the stay. We really enjoyed the property. The location was perfect for us, it was only about 25 minutes from Helen and Cornelia was a great a little town.

Totally relaxing stay. weather was rainy and cold but it was ok,,, enjoyed doing nothing but binge watching Netflix and relaxing. Very cute home with many upgrades but still felt the nostalgia of my grandmothers home. Would definitely recommend as a peaceful getaway or even weekend visit to Helen Georgia.

Fun little house

Great house tucked away by the river. Grand kids loved playing in the river that also had a beach with large rock formations. They also enjoyed the play room upstairs. We was just minutes away from Helen.

Great rustic cabin experience

We enjoyed our stay at this sweet, rustic cabin right on the Chattahoochee River. Unfortunately, our timing wasn’t the best and the river was up so we didn’t get to spend time on the water like we had hoped. But, there was lots of other activities to enjoy nearby and we had a great stay. Our host was very kind and easy to communicate with. We would definitely stay here again!

Utopia

Awesome views of the Chattahoochee and the running water can be heard inside with the door open. Perfect spot for a quiet get away and to unplug. Helen is a pleasant 30 min drive. Greg is very informative and the activity binder in the house is too. Cozy cabin and very clean. We had a great time!!

Simply Awesome!!!

This was the perfect home base for my young outdoors loving family. The view from the upper and lower decks was amazing. The rapids and sandy beach along the property we're fantastic and we're thoroughly explored by my 9 & 11 year olds. Long story short we came to visit for the numerous hiking trails featuring waterfalls but the true gem of our trip was actually the back yard of this property. Would highly, highly recommend!!!! FYI: There are numerous stairs to the water. For my family it was no big deal for those less mobile this could be an issue.

Great place for a getaway

We had a fantastic time staying at the River House! The location was gorgeous and picturesque, and the sound of the rushing river provided the perfect backdrop for relaxation, both on the main deck and the private balcony from the master bedroom. We enjoyed walking the path along the river and wading out to explore the rocky shoals and skip stones. There was plenty of space for the two of us, with comfortable beds and furnishings. The kitchen had everything we needed and the grill worked great to make some delicious meals. We're so thankful to Greg and Lori for sharing this special place, and hope we can enjoy it again some day! -Matt and Rebecca

Perfect Start to the New Year

We absolutely loved our stay at the River House. From relaxing in front of the fire place to exploring the trails and beach, cooking our traditional new year's eve dinner to stargazing from the balcony, we just could not have found a better place to start the new year. The home felt so cozy and everything we needed for a comfortable stay was available. The game room was a bonus as the weather was a bit cold. With plenty of extra blankets provided we were able to bundle up and enjoy the balconies overlooking the water. The location of the home is great if you're looking to explore the surrounding area a bit. Amicalola Falls State Park was about an hours drive with lots of interesting places to stop along the way. We were able to visit a couple of our favorite places in Helen - like the Georgia Mountain Coaster - and that was only about 30 minutes away.Having had the opportunity to experience this location for ourselves now, it is obvious why this property has all 10/10 ratings. I mean, the view from the house and the sounds of the river alone... We can't wait to go back and experience everything the River House has to offer in the summer as well.

Great property with great views along the river. The cabin was comfortable and the owner provides all needs to enjoy the river. Will definitely book this cabin again. Cabin is combiner to a lot of outdoor activities in the area.

Birthday weekend

I wanted something peaceful and quiet to have a relaxing birthday weekend with my fiancé and close friends. This was an absolutely perfect fall weekend getaway. It was a short drive to Helen for a quick day trip for Octoberfest. I really enjoyed my time there and would highly recommend.

Great view of river

The house has a great view of river. But the trees need to be trimmed to make it an even better view (vines under stairs also need trimming). Lower deck had cushions but no chairs, which would have been wonderful to sit down there.

The perfect getaway!

We visited the Habersham house after leaving Pigeon Forge on vacation. It was such a relief to be out of the crowds! My girls (9 & 13) loved the house immediately, more than the newer cabin in the Smokies! We enjoyed going down to the river and relaxing. The house is older and has lots of charm. We didn’t stay long enough to enjoy all that was offered, books, games, dvds, but were impressed. The house was very clean and has a smaller washer and dryer, newer appliances. My husband was bummed when he saw the great fishing spots because he didn’t bring his fishing gear, but was so happy when he saw that there was some provided, along with outdoor chairs, rafts, and even water shoes! This is a house that you can truly walk into and relax without having to bring a ton of things. The owner communicated well and let us in a bit early due to our travel plans. We were just passing through by taking the long way home to Missouri bc my husband had lived in Dahlonega as a child. We went to Helen to zipline at Nachookie (what an amazing place and staff) and eat German food in town, visited the Cabbage Patch hospital, and then enjoyed ice cream on Dahlonega’s Main Street while there. We got to see in the little Holly theater but didn’t have time to watch a play unfortunately. We’d definitely stay again if we are back in the area!!
