This was a get-a-way with two of my sons for my 60th. Close to hiking and food, yet secluded enough to enjoy nature. This home was pretty much spotless, beds were comfortable. The only thing I could say to improve on is to get curtains in bedrooms that aren’t sheer. The shot was very responsive. Hot tub was clean; however, we didn’t take advantage of it. The fire pit is lovely. Thank you for a memorable trip.
We were throughly pleased with our stay in Lookout, WV! Myla was SUPER easy to work with and she was very quick to get back to any messages or requests we had. The space was very clean and easily accommodated one, two, even three families. The hot tub was a plus on the cool nights we stayed there, and the space inside was very cozy, comfortable, and welcoming. My husband and I stayed the weekend, but will definitely be back with our 4 kiddos to enjoy all that New River has to offer!
The Lookout was a great base camp for our trip to NRG! It's just minutes from the Endless Wall trail which (I think) offers the best view in the park. The house was cozy and clean, making even our rainy day enjoyable. The beds were very comfortable and the water pressure was good. And if you head to Fayetteville, Pies and Pints is a MUST!
We had a wonderful time in the New River Gorge area. The home was very close to everything, very convenient to hiking, rock climbing, and great places to eat. The host was very gracious and easy to contact. Very nice!
Had a great time staying at Lookout Lodge. Plenty of room. Easy to find. House was exactly as shown in pictures. Highly recommend staying there. Close to Canyon Rim Visitor center, Fayette Trail, Nuttallburg.
We had a great time at the lookout lodge. Beautiful, spacious property full of amenities indoor and outdoor. The host was very good with quick communication and provided all details for a flow less checkin and checkout process.
We stayed here three nights as we were exploring New River Gorge. It's in a peaceful location and close to Endless Wall trail and much more. The place is beautiful and clean inside with lots of nice little touches that make being here both comfortable and special. We enjoyed the firepit, hot tub, the porches, really all the spaces! Beds are comfortable, and the common area makes being together easy and enjoyable. It's decorated nicely. Appreciated that I could do laundry and cook in the kitchen. There was plenty of coffee to drink and even s'mores to make! Loved this place and would definitely return if in the area again.
Fabulous time hiking and white water rafting! Loved the location. So close to The Endless Wall Trail and white water rafting location. Loved our family time at the fire pit! We will be back New River Gorge!! Host was very responsive! Thank you!
Awesome quiet place next to the New River Gorge National Park
Amazing place!!!! Took us max 5 minutes to get to the park. Well needed break from the DMW. Host was engaged and responsive. Zero issues. I will definitely stay there again. Shopping was also close. An overall oasis. Host even left smores fixings for the firepit and had wood on site.

Thank you so much for being such a great guests and happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay! We would love for you to come back and stay with us again!
Perfect Location for New River Gorgeous National Park
We had a great week at the “Lookout Lodge”, as we called it. The backyard was perfect for kickball, football catches and badminton. Not everyone needs to play sports after a full day at a water park or hiking trails, but my kids do!!
Kitchen had everything we needed and the bathrooms were spotless and had everything we wanted as well.
Beds were super comfortable, and it would have easily fit another small family (or two)!!
10/10 recommend for anyone traveling with kids and/or a pet. My dog loved the yard, and the tall grass made a perfect fence for her.

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
The pictures associated with this property on line depicted a fun yard with yard games and toys! as does this picture to the left of this box!! however, because the grass had not been RECENTLY cut (maybe two weeks as it was two feet long in places) we could not do anything in the yard being very concerned about ticks and not liking gnats at our ankles, etc. it was unfortunate. it was reported to the property manager who did get back to us and told us that the grass would be cut on the day we left!!! i hope it was for whomever goes there next. Very irresponsible to not cut grass in the summer!
Location and surrounding area were great for any level of hiking, as well as easy drive-to sight seeing.Plenty of communication/very responsive host. The house is setup well, very comfortable. Worked great for my wife, parents, dog, and I - with a room to spare. Too hot to enjoy the fire-pit during our summer stay, but my wife wants an egg chair now lol. Wood bundles available as add-ons with one included. AC kept up with the heat. We looked forward to the hot tub each evening after hiking and exploring the area. Some fun touches like LED lights to play with. Not all worked/dead batteries, but still fun. Would pack a few extra AA and AAA batteries if we returned. Games, telescope, etc so if the weather hadn't cooperated, would still have a good time. Comfy couch, easy to setup streaming accounts on the large roku tv - guest mode auto disables them after you leave. Functional kitchen. We packed a brita/water bottles. New washer/dryer. Easy Wi-fi, entry code.Overall, great. If you're considering it, book it. You won't regret it.
Our three night stay in NRG started off well. We were pleased with the house and location. We were slightly dismayed we couldn’t get the Roku to work or even the TV but the host did try to help and we moved on. We did have a significant issue with two animals on the property. A cat made itself known almost immediately and while friendly was bothersome and even got into the house at one point. The second evening a dog appeared outside and continued to be a presence the rest of the trip. Both animals were without collars and the host gave some half hearted guidance but no action and eventually stopped responding. We were unable to use the outside amenities our last night due to the dog whimpering, jumping at and standing at all doors and mirrors. It was unfortunate and we felt badly as it was inhumane for the animals. Be aware that animals like this might be part of your stay.
