Mountain View Cabin

You know, I came to this area for over twenty years before I finally purchased and retired here. I spent twelve years travelling in the Music business and have traveled all over the world. There are very few places in the world like Ridgway. I am amazed at the continuing outdoor activity that never seems to stop. It just transitions from winter activities, skiing, cross country ski, ice climbing, snowmobiles, snow boarding and on and on. Then we transition in to Spring and all that goes with it, from Mountain Climbing, Hiking, Jeep Trails to die for, Fishing, Boating, Motorcycling and on and on. The beauty that surrounds this little community is surreal. When I purchased this perfectly located property it had This beautiful log home rental with spectacular views of the Cimarron and the San Juan Mountains. The cabin is now a fully furnished mountain retreat with everything you will need for a comfortable, affordable stay. Private road with lots of wildlife. Beautiful old Cottonwood trees with an old tire swing. A creek runs through the pasture keeping the grass lush and green. Enjoy the panoramic mountain views. Far enough away from civilization, yet walking distance to town! Located on a farm with lots of wildlife. Only 26 miles from the nearest airport. 2 miles to the famous Ouray Hot springs. 9 miles to Ouray, an easy drive to the Ice Climbing Park off of Camp Bird Mine Rd. and Imogene Pass, renowned for Jeeping and 4x4s. 35 Miles from the Ski Lifts in Telluride. If you think you like staying in Telluride, then you should try this very special Gem in Ridgway. You will be surprised at how open things feel in this Valley. The town is full of incredible restaurants and close to all of the restaurants in Ouray. Join us at the Mountain View Cabin for your next stay in the area.

Great cabin with great location and host

Everything we needed was supplied in the cabin from towels to paper products. Mark even gave us a bar of soap.The appliances were top notch, new and easy to use.We sat by the fire pit two nights, made smores and enjoyed the crisp cool nights in front of the fire.The tvs were excellent with good service to get all our shows.Overall, one of the best properties we have stayed in

Mountains everywhere!

It was mesmerizing waking in the loft and looking out at the mountains in the morning. The San Juans are my favorite mountains in Colorado. This place was perfect. Easy access to Ouray and Telluride, with nice food and coffee in Ridgway. Just a chill and relaxed time — I love it.

Great cabin in a great location

Our stay in this cabin was prefect. The cabin is very close drive to all the fun in Ouray, but also very convenient to good grub in Ridgway. The peacefulness and beauty from the porch was much enjoyed. Watching the storms, sunsets, sunrises, horses, cows, bald Eagle, etc. made for a great show. Highly recommend this lodging.

Gem in a small town

This property is really unique and such a cool way to visit the mountain towns of Western Colorado Everything inside the cabin is well appointed. The finishes are unique and handcrafted Highly recommend!

Just wonderful

Perfect sums it up. Great location - Ridgway was a lovely little town that was in a great location. Easy day trips in Ouray and Telluride. Could have done Silverton & Durango but instead made stops when we left. On the way stopped in Montrose for groceries & dinner after spending the day at Black Canyon. Did a Jeep tour out of Ouray that was great! Favorite spot was Sliver Jack lake - about 1.25 hours up the mountain right beside Mark’s place. Mark & Sai were wonderful - really enjoyed meeting them. The cabin is perfect - very comfortable & they’ve thought of everything. Appliances are lovely, kitchen is well stocked, washer/dryer, comfy beds. Would highly recommend & would love to visit again!

Spacious and Quiet Home

We enjoyed our stay in Ridgway very much, especially sitting on the front porch watching the prairie dogs play nearby. It is near both Telluride and Ouray which we enjoyed visiting. The owner came over and oriented us to the house and firepit/BBQ area. Only drawback was the rough gravel road in, since we had a brand new car without a lot of ground clearance.

Great location in Ridgway

I stayed with a couple of friends for a few days of hiking and canyoneering. The log cabin is beautiful and very well-appointed. A lot of small thoughtful things like hooking up the Keurig directly to water so it doesn't have to be refilled. The kitchen was great and my friend who likes to cook really enjoyed it. The rest of the cabin was equally nice and we particularly liked staying out on the patio, having drinks and enjoying the view of the valley and mountains. Mark (who lives on the property) is a wonderful, gracious host and we enjoyed getting to know him. Can't wait to go back.

Incredible, relaxing place to stay

Terrific Stat. Mark met us on arrival and already had the fireplace prepped in case we wanted to make smores for the kids. He showed us around the place, how everything worked, and checked in with us intermittently. Easily one of the most wonderful hosts I've had. The place itself is lovely - renovated log cabin with very, very cozy beds and a great view of the mountains. We sat out on the deck each night and looked at the stars - so amazing it there away from city lights. We spent our days exploring ouray and ridgway, hiking some trails as well as driving up last dollar pass and to elk meadows. Just a wonderful place. We would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Breathtaking Property + Best Hosts = Unforgettable Vacation

My wife and two friends booked Mark and Sai’s place for our weeklong trip to the San Juan region to hike and ride Jeep trails. Hands down, this is perhaps the best (of many) rentals I’ve ever experienced. The property is amazing. It’s the perfect balance of private mountain views, yet so close to both Ridgway and Ouray. The log cabin, the barn, the cows, it’s all incredible. Mark and Sai live onsite in the house next door - they are so friendly and hospitable. They care for the cabin rental like it’s their own. Top appliances, mattresses, and amenities - all first class. I would book this again a thousand times over. I can’t wait to return!

The Best!

We wish we could give an extra star! We wish we had arranged to stay longer! This is a beautiful, clean log house with a wall of windows from top floor to bottom floor. Comfortable beds! The view was phenomenal. We saw so much wildlife right around the house from every window we looked out, including white-tailed bucks doing sparring practice. Dark sky at night for star-gazing, meteor-watching. Easy drives to spectacular places like Telluride, Ouray, Black Canyon. The house is on its own huge property but it's a short, easy drive to get to town to go shopping, etc. The hosts are so nice. On-the-spot communication when you need them, non-intrusive if you don't.

Absolutely beautiful cabin and a very nice host. Be sure to follow his suggestion on where to eat. We saw bears, deer, a fox, and lots of birds from the front porch and you have a million dollar view of the mountains.

The property was amazing, the photos do not do it justice it is beautiful. Wake up in the morning to the sunrise, relax on the front porch with the views of the huge valley and the majestic mountains, mezmerizing. Later in the day relax and watch the sunset. This is the third consecutive year we’ve stayed with Mark and Sai to go climbing in the area. Obviously, we loved it the first time and every year they make additional luxurious improvements. Cabin Home with Spectacular Views

The cabin is very charming with unique features like high end stove, conmercail Kuerig, and reverse osmosis water filtration system for drinking water. The beds were comfortable and the home was well-stocked.

Mountain solitude

Wonderful Cabin

I have owned and managed rental properties of all kinds for 30 years. Managing this short term rental cabin has been a dream come true for Sai and I. We love the interactions with the clients and enjoy them being overwhelmed by the spectacular views of the San Juan and Cimmeron Mountains from inside the cabin and the beautiful westerly views of the Horsefly mountain range from outside the cabin. We love the wildlife right in our front yard and love walking to town from our location.

Location, location, location. As described above, the views are stunning and has excellent proximatey to the town of Ridgway, Telluride, Quray, the million dollar Highway and so much more. As a retired General Contractor, I immediately began renewing the entire cabin. I am about half way there, but plan to finish with a five star unit.
