Horizons on Yellowtop Mountain is a quiet, private and secluded cabin with no neighbors in sight. Enjoy this luxury mountain getaway, in beautiful Golden Valley Township, with all the modern amenities available. Because of its mountain elevation, this beautiful cabin provides cooler summer climates with an incredible scenic view of Golden Valley and Sunshine, NC.

Outdoor Amenities:

Horizons has large decks on two levels, with outstanding views of Golden Valley from every direction, as well as a private balcony off the upper level. The decks have rocking chairs and outdoor dining. You'll also find an outdoor gas grill and we supply the gas. Horizons also has a double swing in the yard as well as a Firepit for your enjoyment, we provide the wood.

The amazing views from the decks are perfect for an afternoon with your favorite book. Later in the evening you can enjoy an intimate glass of wine while you drink in a sunset that few can compare to.

Indoor Amenities:
Horizons has a large open floor plan with vaulted ceilings and hardwood floors. You will find a welcoming great room with a gas fireplace, dining area and large windows with a spectacular view of the mountains. Both Great Room also has a Flat Screen HDTV with satellite service and a DVD player, and a WiFi Internet connection.

The master suite is on the upper level and has a queen bed with private bath. On the main level you will find another queen bedroom with a hall bath, and a queen sofa bed in the loft.

Additional living space on garden level, 2nd Great room with a fireplace, a Flat Screen HDTV with satellite service and a DVD player, and a WiFi Internet connection. Game or dining table with 4 chairs and a 3rd queen bedroom and a full bath.

Horizons has a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, and a partly stocked pantry as well. You will find a washer and dryer in the lower level for your convenience. The cabin has central air conditioning and heating and a beautiful gas log fireplace in the main living area.

When you arrive, you’ll find the beds freshly made with crisp linens and soft, fresh towels in the bathrooms. You will also find the heat or air conditioning on and the interior and exterior lights on for your convenience.

We provide you with all utensils, pots, pans, dishes, linens, towels and paper products needed for your getaway. All you need to bring, is your clothes, toiletries, food and the desire to kick back, relax and enjoy.

Please note: All Holidays and October have a minimum of a 3 day stay, Thanksgiving, Christmas & New Years is a minimum of 4 days.

Your hosts, are happy to assist you with any special requests or arrangements for that important occasion - family gatherings, anniversary, birthday, honeymoon or romantic getaway that may occur during your stay.

We had an amazing 5 days. The cabin was perfect in so many ways. Three levels, with one room on each level, made it perfect for families/teens to have their own space and yet lots of togetherness. It was very clean and well stocked. Best part was waking up every morning to sit on the comfy couch in front of the fireplace drinking my coffee and watching the sun light up the mountains. If the morning view was beautiful, wait until you see the sunset. We actually came back to the cabin early from our hikes just so we could enjoy it. We would stay in this cabin again and again.

We had high expectations based on the current photos and reviews, and I have to say they were exceeded! The cabin is lovely, and the view was amazing. We sat outside for meals, just soaking up the scenery. We were very pleased that the three bedrooms basically had their own living spaces, so we all had privacy from each other when we wanted it. The fireplace added warmth and ambiance inside, and the fire pit was great the night we used it. Well appointed kitchen, comfortable furniture and beds, and spotlessly clean. The location is a bit remote, but we visited both Asheville and Chimney Rock State park for day trips, and the hour drive didn't seem too onerous since the scenery was so beautiful.

My husband, brother and sister-in-law stayed at the house over the Thanksgiving holiday. Our one problem was finding the house for the first time at night. It is the first house on the right after turning onto West Ridge and is easy to miss. The house is spacious, beautiful and comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped and generous. We all wished we could have been there at a warmer time of year to take advantage of the rocking chairs on the porch. Sadly my husband had a heart attack on Thanksgiving Day and died a few days later in Charlotte. I do want to share this because the emergency responders were there in 10 minutes. The regional hospital in Shelby was excellent. They had a helicopter waiting to whisk him to Charlotte. We could not have asked for better care. It is comforting to know that this lovely house on top of a mountain is also close to emergency medical resources.

Yes, It Was That Good

A spectacular panoramic view of the Blue Ridge Mountains from 3 diffferent levels. The stress just melted away as we just sat and adored. In today's hubub the serenity and total quiet was awesome. No dogs barking. No car or truck noise. A secluded location where you see no one. The house was as advertised. There was plenty of space for you either to play games as a group or separate and go and read a book in a quiet corner. All the pots and utensils with paper goods made this easy to adapt to. The AC worked great as did the internet and TV. I strongly suggest you take a look. The sunsets will knock your socks off.

Secluded with great view

This property was awesome. The view was amazing. The property had everything we needed. The property owner was very responsive and easy to communicate with. It’s only about an hour and fifteen minutes from Asheville. I would definitely recommend this property.
