Our ‘Cabin in the Woods’ can be described in many different ways, but simply put it’s nothing short of MAGICAL. Tucked away near a babbling stream, this rustic, romantic cabin surrounded by lush oak and maple trees is the best backdrop for your home away from home. Located just 5 miles from Catamount Mountain Resort, this is the perfect getaway for couples and groups up to 6 people. The Cabin is perfectly secluded but the charming Book Barn is only a short 300 feet away which makes it feel that you are not completely alone in the wilderness.

This cabin is indeed wonderfully hidden in the woods yet convenient to so much in the near vicinity....from Hudson, NY to Great Barrington, MA...and beyond. Ideal for a couple or a small family of 3-4. We look forward to returning again soon.

A beautiful house and área - we loved hearing the stream at night and it was so quiet and peaceful. Just walking the winding dirt roads was idyllic. We had one issue checking in and one with the house, but in both instances our host got back to us right away. We felt connected and yet private.

Quiet Parents Getaway

NThe quiet corner of NY was heaven to relax and enjoy the woods. Cabin was cozy. Book barn within walking distance was icing on the cake!

Cozy & Affordable

This place is perfect for a small group (we had 2 couples). It is exactly as advertised and super reasonable price. Betty was responsive and even sent us some great recommendations. Will definitely look to stay again and highly recommend this spot!

Quiet Getaway

The drive in is absolutely beautiful. The area is welcoming and peaceful. The home was well maintained and perfect for our family, while we were in to visit family close by. Being able to bring our fur babies was an additional benefit. We were pleasantly surprised to find the home to have portable AC units, which is nice, since we came from the south and are used to AC. We had beautiful weather! The property is quiet and serene and nestled in a wooded lot. We enjoyed the fire pit one night and the grill outside. We would recommend this property to anyone who loves the outdoors and is looking for a quiet getaway!

Beautiful quiet place

Awesome place in the woods. Very quiet. We ate dinner there most nights, stocked nicely with pans and plates and everything - its not a place you could just run out and get something. Having everything there was a big plus. We took nightly drives in the dark and spotted, deer, foxes, owls, racoons, possums. The land & woods were really beautiful esp at night. House was great, two floors w a spiral staircase. There is a large deck out back where you could eat and hang put. We had a great time here. The host was quick to communicate with us. Thank you for everything!

Amazing getaway from life

This property was amazing . The title of it being a magical cabin is very accurate. The location is perfect to clear your head and to regroup . We had an amazing time . The suggestions provided by the host were very helpful . 10/10 for my family and myself. We will definitely return

Weekend Birthday Getaway

Overall the property was very nice! Perfect place to escape the more urban or suburban areas and find quiet. A bit more quiet than expected, and very dark at night, but those are good things once you get used to it!The cabin itself could use a deeper cleaning, but was clean enough for guests and had all the amenities we needed. Most of all felt very warm and cozy with all the wood and tall windows.We mostly ventured to Hudson about 25-30 minutes away. A lot of great restaurants and shops there, plenty to do.All in all we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this cabin to others looking for a quiet wooded escape!
