The Neighborhood:
You're right off NE 28th Avenue - one of Portland's best restaurant rows - with Laurelhurst Park and its tree-lined residential streets just a few blocks south. It's a neighborhood where you can walk to a James Beard-worthy dinner, grab world-class tortas, and still be home in five minutes.
Laurelhurst Market is the anchor - a steakhouse and in-house butcher shop that's been a longtime Portland favorite since 2009. Go for dinner (the butcher-cut steaks are outstanding) or stop by the counter during the day for house-cured sandwiches and charcuterie. Güero is our favorite torta spot in the city - the carnitas torta and their hamburguesa were recently featured in Portland Monthly as one of the city's best burgers. Montelupo is a proper Italian market and restaurant with housemade pasta, an espresso bar, and a market stocked with imported provisions.
For a casual night, Big's Chicken does Alabama-style fried chicken from the same team behind Laurelhurst Market - the smoked whole bird and mac & cheese are legit. Crema Coffee + Bakery is a short walk for morning coffee and some of the best house-baked pastries in Portland.
A few of our favorites nearby:
🥩 Laurelhurst Market - popular steakhouse with in-house butcher shop
🌮 Güero - Portland's best tortas and a killer hamburguesa
🍝 Montelupo - housemade Italian pasta, market, and espresso bar
🌳 Laurelhurst Park - one of Portland's most beautiful parks, a few blocks south
Laurelhurst Park is a quick walk - 27 acres with walking paths, a spring-fed pond, and big old-growth trees. The neighborhood is well connected by bus, bikeable, and central to SE Portland's best districts. Hawthorne, Belmont, and Division are all a short ride away.
Getting Around:
🚶 Walking — Laurelhurst is one of NE Portland's most walkable neighborhoods. A few blocks to NE 28th Avenue for restaurants, cafes, and shops, with Laurelhurst Park a short walk south.
🚌 Bus — TriMet Route 19 (Woodstock/Glisan) runs right past the property along NE Glisan, with connections to downtown and across the city.
🚲 Biking — BIKETOWN bike-share stations nearby. Portland's bike lane network makes cycling easy and safe.
🚗 Driving — Free street parking is widely available. Rideshare (Uber/Lyft) typically arrives in under 5 minutes.

Thank you for the kind words! We’re so glad you found everything comfortable and clean, and we were happy to accommodate the early check-in. We’d love to host you again anytime you’re back in Portland.
It was a very clean property in a great location. Street parking wasn't difficult to find most nights. The neighborhood was fun to walk around and go out for dinner at a bar or food truck down the road. We were in town for an event at the convention center and it was no trouble driving over every morning. A quick 8-9 min drive. The kitchen was functional and clean but is quite small if you're actually planning to cook a lot. There is no real prep space and the bare minimum in supplies. No oil, spices, kitchen basics, etc. My family of four was staying there and we had to take turns eating our cereal in the morning because there were only three bowls. Overall they were minor inconveniences. It works great for a couple of days but any stays longer than that would require more deliberate planning and packing of kitchen items.
