Cozy Cabin on 4 acres of fun! Pavilion, Firepit, Swing, Walking trail to creek!
Located in the heart of North Georgia this hand built and lovingly remodeled authentic log cabin is the home of your perfect Appalachian getaway. Whether you're looking for adventure, romance, or just a peaceful escape, Sun Oak Cabin is the place for you.
Don't take our word for it, see the new Sun Oak cabin walkthrough video on YouTube https://youtu.be/ueSLtyXYLhk As soon you walk in, you will see warm wood accents, a modern kitchen with a copper sink, Corian counters, a Keurig and all the amenities. We kept you in mind when we completely updated the bathrooms with tile, teak, and a rain shower with massage jets. Our queen size beds are so comfy you will want to sleep in. There is also a queen size folding wooden bed frame and trifold memory foam mattress in the living room, in case you'd rather not sleep with your grandma, and a twin daybed in the loft. There is little to no "ruffing it" at Sun Oak Cabin. For the romantics, the remote controlled gas fireplace and general ambiance will lend to the perfect evening. You can enjoy a complimentary bottle of wine from the wine rack. We have a 65" smart TV, just log into your own accounts to laze away the day. We also have a fire pit for the kids (and kids at heart) to roast marshmallows. For adventurers, hike down to the creek shelter and picnic table, play in the water and explore our 4 acres! Sun Oak Cabin is close to many of the local attractions, yet serene and secluded. Watch deer, turkey, and other wildlife from the comfy Amish outdoor furniture on the covered porch. Or head out to the pavilion and cook up a whole meal on the Blackstone griddle/air fryer, while family hangout with you at the picnic table, the lounge seating and the "under the porch" swing. If it's warm, turn on the cooling fans to stay breezy. Edison string lights will give your evenings outside a festive air. We've tried to think of everything to make the perfect mountain vacation experience, now all that is needed is you! UCSTR License # 003586

Beautiful cabin has everything and more that we needed. Have stayed several times and it’s always good. There is a beautiful Mountain View thank u for allowing us to stey
This was one of the best VRBO places we have ever stayed. It's such a great cabin getaway. Nestled in the woods with every amenity you need. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was stocked, the tv reception was clear, and the decor was tops. The property is beautiful. There was only one thing wrong with our stay, it wasn't near long enough!
Beautiful cabin and grounds! It was clean quiet and the trail to the creek was a nice addition. The fire pit and grill area was an added plus. I would recommend this property for people looking for ace relaxing and peaceful stay that is close to hiking areas.
The cabin gave you the feel of home. Had everything you needed. Had a question for the host and she had no problem with it. Helped us with what we needed and recommended some restaurants for us. Thank you again!!
Easy check in proceeds, great communication with host, clean cabin that’s just as pictured. Enjoyed listening to the birds on the back patio, reading while swinging. Look forward to visiting again and using the pavilion and fire pit.
Good location. Cabin was everything I was looking for. Kitchen was well stocked, beds were comfortable, and living room was cozy. Would stay there again for sure!!
This was our 3rd year to stay in this cabin. We love the outdoor area along with the inside of the cabin. It is very cozy, comfy, and inviting. I would totally recommend this place to stay!
The property is even more beautiful in person than in the photos. My family and I had a pleasant time. Tina was very quick to answer any questions. Beautiful property. Thank you
This was our third stay at this property. As our previous stays, the cabin was very clean with all the amenities you need. It is very convenient to many things. We had some long time friends over for an afternoon gathering at the pavilion, and it was wonderful. The pavilion is well equipped with everything you need. Highly recommend. We'll be back.
This is our second stay at this property. Came back because of the quality, location and value. Recommend for a quite, relaxing stay. We have had deer visit on both visits.
This is a VERY clean cabin close to walking trails and parks. Lots of wild birds and deer seen everyday. Convenient to Blairsville for all your shopping needs. We have been coming to this area for 40 years and hope to come again. Thanks
We just loved everything about this home and property! The personal touches everywhere we looked made our stay so enjoyable. We loved spending time in the pavilion below the property and on the gorgeous deck in the rockers. We will definitely rent this property again if we have the chance to come back ❤️
Everything about our stay was wonderful . From the booking to the leaving. Pictures doesn’t do this place justice . Our host was wonderful in communication. We will stay again
This is a very nice property with a beautiful pavillion and firepit. It's a quiet and peaceful area. The beds and couches were really comfy. The kitchen had all rhe cookware needed, which was extremely nice and made things easy. We will be returning.
I highly recommend this clean, secluded cabin in the woods of Blairsville. Our family really enjoyed being outside under the pavilion, on the patio and making s’mores by the fire pit. My kids loved seeing deer each day too. This cabin was well stocked and the location was great. Communication with the owners were wonderful. If you want a trip you will always remember, come here.

About the host
Hosted by Tina Sonen
In the Fall of 2014 Mike and Tina Sonen bought a rustic log cabin that needed a lot of TLC. But the Sonens were definitely the people for the job.
While Mike was an all around handyman, his passion was wood working. He made furniture for friends and family for the better part of three decades. A rocking chair that's been passed around his nieces and nephews as they have children, a reading bench for his mother, and an entire living room suite for Tina, are just a few of the pieces he's made. Mike's work tends to reflect the simple elegance of the Arts and Crafts style. This in turn inspired the motif for their new cabin.
Tina may not have known much about refurbishing a house when she began, but she could be called an expert now. While Mike tackled the big projects, Tina learned how to stain wood, lay and grout tile, install cabinets, and then still made lunch. She also made the cushions in the living room in her free time. Now a retired widow, Tina enjoys renting it out to vacationers to enjoy.
All in all, bringing this cabin into the twenty-first century has definitely been a family affair and everyone in the Sonen's lives pitched in at one point or another. Now they want to invite you to enjoy their hard work. Come be a part of the family and admire the loving detail that Mike and Tina included in every corner to ensure your stay would be memorable.
Why they chose this property
Located in historic Booger Hollow, Sun Oak Cabin is located near many attractions like Vogel State Park, Granddaddy Mim's, track rock area, Alexander's, and Jim's smokin Q, but off the beaten track. For convenience, there is a Dollar general and Booker Hollow store / gas station right around the corner.
What makes this property unique
Our woodsy 4 acres is nestled between a creek at the bottom, a quaint church on one side and and an empty homestead/woods on the other. From our porch, enjoy a beautiful mountain view, amazing sunsets, wildlife, and the comings and goings of the churchgoers. If the weather is bad, we have a library of books, and plenty of games in the sideboard. The pavilion is easily accessed behind the cabin for great fun for all. Play tic tac toe, and cornhole while dinner is cooking on the Blackstone griddle / air fryer. Enjoy an evening at the fire pit, or on the under-the-porch swing, under the Edison lights. We've created a trail behind the pavilion that meanders down the hill to the creek, where we have a little shelter, picnic table, glider, benches, fire ring, and steps down into the creek. Bring your water shoes, and even try your hand at gold/gem panning!
