greatly situated and well equipped chalet

We very much enjoyed our stay at the chalet. Views were amazing, short drive to the skiing areas and well-equipped kitchen. Communication with Cathy was easy from of booking until the end of our stay.

What a fabulous property. I know the views are breathtaking in the Chamonix valley but the property takes absolute maximum advantage, offering an amazing vista in every direction and the wrap around garden allows you to chase the sun from sunrise to sunset. Our two labrador dogs had the time of their lives here. The inside was neat, tidy with a lovely kitchen. We didn't use the upstairs - but it seemed more than functional. Downstairs was lovely. Parking for our car was ideal. Great kitchen. Great views. Great internet and really comfy sofa. We will come back.

great location

This Chalet was perfect for what my partner and I needed. it's right at the foot of the mountains so the view was amazing. it's in a quiet little villlage, giving you a real feel of a small town in france. the chalet was quite small but perfect for a couple or couple with small children. Cathy the owner was very helpful and easy to deal with.

Amazing views

Great location with amazing Mountain View’s. Easy access to Chamonix plus further afield through the tunnel or over the pass to Switzerland. Well equipped house, all we needed. Wi-Fi not great. Would stay again but not mid May as in between season & many local restaurants in Les Houches not open.

I'm sorry about the Wi-Fi - poor strength has become an intermittent issue throughout the Chamonix Valley but there is new infrastructure being installed which will hopefully alleviate the problem. Les Houches is quiet in the period between winter and summer seasons and in Les Houches some restaurants take a break. Thankfully Chamonix has plenty that stay open all year and it's just a 10 minute drive away. The low season does have the advantage of uncrowded buses and hiking trails, little traffic on the roads and ease of finding parking spaces. By mid-June the valley is buzzing and everything is up and running - I'd be delighted to welcome you back.

An excellent stay with an amazing view

Our stay was really amazing. The chalet as everything ! Cathy the host made everything perfectly organise to have the easiest stay. She explain and thinks about everything we could need during our holiday. The chalet is so cute, clean and had everything. The very best of this place is the outside terrasse and garden with flowers and the most important the best view ever !!! We spend mostly pour time in the outside couch looking at those beautiful mountain. We had a dog and the garden is very close and safe: Thanks Cathy for everything, we will recommend your place and come back for sure !!! Sophie and Shane

Just Perfect

Perfect location, quiet, well appointed, accurately described with an efficient and friendly host. We have never stayed at a location with so much information provided by the host. Maps, books, leaflets etc but by far the best was the free train and bus tickets. I would recommend the trip to Vallorcine for walks. The journey by train is worth it on its own. A wonderful holiday. Many thanks for sharing this fantastic cabin. Don't be put off by the lack of headroom on the first floor. Children will love it, ours did, and she is 40!

Excellent in Every Way!

Chalet pic Rouge is excellent in every way! We loved the location, the chalet itself and how Cathy had everything labeled for ease of use. Pluses: clear instructions on how to use everything, great shower in renovated bath, outdoor deck with lounge sofa, chair and dining table, cleanliness of everything, guest book details and suggestions, convenient, quiet location, convenience of recycle and trash recepticals. Upstairs is a challenge, even to do the laundry, but that was fully disclosed. Not recommended for anyone over 5' 3"! Overall, a great experience!

Pic Rouge - a great place to stay.

This was our third time in Les Houches, and Cathy's house, the Pic Rouge, was a great place to stay. It is not very large, but extremely well organised and equipped with absolutely everything you might need. Also, good planning has gone into making life easy for lodgers - if I at times wondered how things worked (stove, recycling, etc), I would find instructions either in an instruction folder or close to the appliance (both in English and French) telling me exactly how to proceed. After many years' experience with (at times not very pedagogical) holiday accommodation, this was absolutely splendid. A 5-minute walk away lie Les Houches boulangerie and Carrefour for supplies. Another source of supplies was Cathy's generous offer to help ourselves to vegetables, berries and herbs from her little garden, which we gratefully did. All meals were taken on the patio where an added bonus was the comfortable leather sofa - a great place to sit, gazing up at the shifting cloud formations and light variatons on the Mont Blanc range (or, if one gets it to oneself, a little power nap). The Chamonix valley has fantastic opportunities for hiking and Cathy's instruction folder gives a wealth of tips for easier and more strenous hikes. We also played tennis, there are courts in Les Houches at the far end of the village, and if you want to go swimming, Lac du Passy is a short drive away. We had a splendid week in Pic Rouge, and would love to come back.

Das Haus ist perfekt ausgestattet, Küche und Bad mit Gewürzen, Putzmitte und ganz viel Geschirr. Es ist jedoch ein wenig eng, v.a. der Durchgang zum Bad durch das Schlafzimmer. Das Zwischendeck ist sehr niedrig, gut für Kinder, das Schlafzimmer oben für Menschen bis ca. 1,55 optimal, sogar mit WC und Badewanne, allerdings kommt man nur gebückt dorthin, die Wendeltreppe ist für geübte Bergsteiger optimal.Der Ausblick auf Aiguelle und Mont Blanc war atemberaubend, der Zaun ist etwas störend. Der Garten ist liebevoll angelegt und mit verschiedenen Sitzmöglichkeiten ausgestattet.Wir und unser Hund haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.Herzlichen Dank.

Tout était parfait, notamment la vue sur la montagne du chalet, l'équipement à l'interieur, sauf peut-être l'accès aux lits en haut et le déplacement dans cette partie du chalet qui était un peu compliqué et réservé plutôt à des enfants.. Nous avons apprécié également que les lits soient faits à notre arrivée !

Très bon séjour

Schönes Chalet in toller Landschaft

Die Gastgeberin war sehr nett, das Chalet war gepflegt und ist schön gelegen. Les Houches ist ein schöner Ort und die Skistation ist mit dem Bus gut erreichbar. Wir würden jederzeit wieder kommen.

geniale Ferienwoche

Wunderschöne Ferien in einem genialen Chalet. Es war einfach perfekt! Wir haben das Ferienhaus in vollen Zügen genossen. Es war sehr sauber und komfortabel, sehr gut ausgestattet mit vielen schönen Plätzchen zum Verweilen! Sehr freundlicher Kontakt mit der Eigentümerin. Calme, nature, confort et panorama grandiose

C'est une location sans reproche, tout y est, le confort lié au calme est un grand atout. Le plus c'est la "pièce nature" celle qui encercle Pic Rouge ce lieu où j'ai révassez longuement ou lire confortablement installé sur le fauteuil face à l'Aiguille du Midi. Un moment inoubliable.

Sejour

On a passe une tr3s belle semaine de vacance de Noel. Avec mes enfants , on a profite bien de cette location adapte a toutes nos besoin... On veut Revenir en ete aussi!il y a des endroits a decouvrir...
