About this property
Set & Drift~Hatcher Pass, Pets Allowed, Peaceful
Welcome to Set & Drift, a peaceful three bedroom home near Hatcher Pass in Alaska’s picturesque Matanuska Valley. This cozy and private space is a perfect home away from home while exploring all the area has to offer. Surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty, this pet friendly home features a fully equipped kitchen, a deck with outdoor dining, fresh herbs growing in planters, and a solo fire pit. And you'll be just a stone's throw from some of the world's best hiking and outdoor adventures.
You'll enter into the living room, where you'll find a closet to your right with plenty of room to store your jackets, shoes, and outdoor gear. The living room is equipped with a smart TV and a cupboard of board games. Don't forget to sign the guestbook that you find on the dining room table that seats six. Throughout the space you'll find local Alaskan themed and nautical themed books, and a few instruments to play: a guitar, ukulele, and a mandolin. In the workspace beside the bay windows you'll find a record player with some old classic favorites.
Set & Drift is equipped with a full kitchen with everything you need to cook a meal. There is also a coffee station that includes a locally roasted coffee sample from Farm Loop coffee and Felicity Loft tea.
The master bedroom is furnished with a queen sized bed and another smart TV. You'll also find some additional books, charging ports, a northern lights projector, and an essential oils diffuser.
In the master bathroom you'll find a stand up shower and a separate tub supplied with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, and locally made Alaskan lotion. Beyond the master bath you'll find a large walk in closet.
On the other end of the house, you'll find the second and third bedroom, both equipped with queen beds, local art, and charging ports. The second bath has a tub and shower combo and is also supplied with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, and locally made Alaskan lotion.
Near the kitchen you'll have a washer and dryer available to you.
You can access the back deck through the living room, where you'll find planter boxes growing fresh herbs, flowers, and lettuces. There is a table and chairs for outdoor living, as well as a dog run for your furry friend. Beyond the deck in the backyard, you'll find the solo stove, a smokeless fire pit.
You'll have private access to the entire home, back deck, and back yard. You'll have full access to the driveway, though you will see the a couple trucks parked in the back of the driveway near the shed. You will not have access to the garage during your stay.
You may see people outside the property occasionally mowing the lawn or weeding the gardens.
You are welcome to reach out for questions or recommendations at any time!
The home is in a rural subdivision at the base of Hatcher Pass. The lots are one to five acres in size, so there is plenty of space and privacy, but you also might see the neighbors out in their yard or the kids riding bikes or four wheelers in the street. There is a local gas station/ice cream stop, a little bar, and also a pizza place within a mile or so, but otherwise most services will be in Palmer or Wasilla. Palmer has great breweries, restaurants, coffee shops, and boutiques. We are very close to all the recreational activities in Hatcher Pass.
Here are some distances, to give you an idea:
8 miles to downtown Palmer (13 minutes)
12.2 miles to Wasilla (20 minutes)
