Charming Michigan City Cottage

Enjoy a getaway steps from Lake Michigan's Sheridan Beach in this cozy cottage that is great for quiet comfort, family fun, a romantic getaway, or a weekend with close friends. There are many activities nearby including Washington Park Marina/Park/Zoo, Sheridan Beach, Blue Chip Casino, Lighthouse Premium Place Outlets, and downtown Michigan City restaurants, all a short walk or bike ride away. The area also has several wineries and breweries. Additionally, for those wanting to enjoy concerts, sporting events or a day trip exploring Chicago, the South Shore Line now offers a 67-minute train to Chicago from 11th Street in Michigan City, which is approximately two miles from the cottage.

The beach is just a five minute walk from the front door. We provide a beach wagon, two beach chairs, an umbrella, beach towels, a cooler, a few ice packs, and some sand toys for your enjoyment.

The serene back patio is surrounded by trees and is great for relaxing in the evenings. A grill is provided but please clean this after use.

The charming house features 1 queen bed in the primary on the main floor and two double beds in the upstairs loft. There is one full bathroom with a shower. A hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner and lotion are provided for your convenience. The home has a television with a Roku for you to log in to watch your streaming services. We also have WiFi and a small selection of books to borrow for your next good read.

Jaime was accommodating when we needed to bring our dog at the last minute. The cottage was very clean, close to the beach, stocked with essentials, including plenty of towels. We also appreciated the reserved street parking right in front of the house as there were a lot of cars parking near the cottage on the weekend.

Spent a long weekend here with my 2 year old, newborn, mother and husband. My mom took the upstairs and we were able to easily fit a bassinet in the bedroom and used the hosts pack n play for my toddler with a slumber pod in the living room. It was a little tight with the extra kid gear and one bathroom being through a bedroom, but it worked out well. The quick walk to the beach was perfect, we were able to easily go 2x a day and pop in and out when kids were tired. The hosts were so wonderful and communicative. The beach read book selection was the cherry on top. Would absolutely stay again.

Rooms were clean. Had bad weather (obviously not their fault), but it was a little smaller than I had pictured at least, and it would be nice to have a washer and dryer for towels and things. But overall the stay was good. The people were nice with thorough detailed instructions. And I appreciated how clean the unit was when we checked in.

We are saddened that you did not feel like your stay was excellent because of the size of the unit and lack of a washer and dryer; the property size is listed on our page, and we do not advertise a washer and dryer. We also responded to your inquiry about a washer and dryer confirming we did not have one prior to your arrival. We provide extra bath and beach towels based on the guest count indicated in the booking. We wish the weather would have been better for you, and we messaged in the VRBO app after the bad storms to make sure everything was ok and see if you needed anything. This property was perfect for our girls weekend! The house was one of the cleanest I've stayed in and was very cutely decorated. The beach was super close and there were places to eat within walking distance. The host was amazing! There was a minor issue with the code lock to let us in the house and she was able to get us into the house within minutes!! She was very prompt and accommodating. Will definitely stay again next time we are in Michigan City!

Wonderful Stay!
