About this property

Otterly A-maine-zing, a cozy cottage with Acadia trails right out front

Welcome to Otterly A-maine-zing, located in Otter Creek on Mount Desert Island in Maine. This adorable 2-bedroom cottage is conveniently located for all your Acadia adventures. Walk right out the front door and on to the trails! The Otter Creek trail connects to Otter Cove where you can watch for seals, hunt for sea glass, enjoy a day at the beach or continue your hike up the trail to Gorham Mountain, Beehive, Sand Beach, Thunderhole and beyond! Otterly A-maine-zing has everything you need to make your stay comfortable while you enjoy your Maine vacation. There are two full bedrooms, each with a queen bed. There is also another sleeping space with a full size bed. What we call the half bedroom, is a pass through room to the back bedroom but it includes doors between it and the living room and the back bedroom for privacy. The house has a fully stocked kitchen, even including a lobster pot and lobster utensils. Walk up to Otter Creek Market, buy a fresh lobster and cook it right here! Right near the market you'll also find a playground and a bus stop just up the road at Blackstone Campground for the Island Explorer! Hop on board and travel around the island for free! Just up the road is Seal Harbor (5 minutes) where you can find shops, restaurants, and a beautiful beach. Or head into Bar Harbor, only about an 8 minute drive, where you'll find restaurants, entertainment, shops and a full grocery store. Enjoy the peace and quiet in our front garden, on the enclosed front porch or even out back on the hammock (where you can enjoy seasonal views of Cadillac mountain! ). Or head out the front door and right into Acadia! Have an adventure then come home and enjoy the tranquility at Otterly A-maine-zing.

As a side note: we are newer to the VRBO platform. We understand it can be concerning to book with a property that has little to no reviews. However, we have hosted on another platform since 2024 and have achieved superhost status, maintaining a 4.9-star review status with 100+ reviews. It is our goal to give you a 5-star worthy stay and make this your best Maine-Acadia trip ever. We hope this can remedy any of your concerns about choosing to book with us!

About the host

My husband and I have been visiting Acadia for 8 years and finally decided we didn't want to leave! So, in 2022 we bought our first home here and began renovating. When I'm not renovating you can either find me at the gym doing jiu-jitsu, at the farm riding my horses or out enjoying all that Acadia has to offer!

Why they chose this property

Otter Creek is close to everything on the island but its a quiet neighborhood. The biggest bonus was the trails being right out the front door!

What makes this property unique

The location is special. Being in Otter Creek gives you the ability to go into the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor, just a few minutes up the road, but then you come back to the peace and quiet of Otter Creek. The trails are located just out the front door, there's a market and a restaurant within walking distance and there is an island explorer bus stop at the end of the street. Everything you could ever want!
