About this property
Brand new 2-bedroom ocean front cottage escape
This home, 63 Wing Lane is located on the beautiful St. Croix River, overlooking historic St. Croix Island and neighbouring New Brunswick, Canada.
The space has two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with a king size bed located upstairs. There is a fully stocked kitchen with all the comforts of home so you can focus on relaxing and making memories with friends and family. There is space outside where you can maximize your enjoyment of the beautiful views and relax and wind down with a cold beverage or glass of wine.
The St. Croix River is saltwater. This river experiences tidal patterns influenced by its proximity to the Bay of Fundy. The tides in this area are semi-diurnal, meaning there are typically two high tides and two low tides each day. The tidal range can be significant, often exceeding 20 feet, which is one of the highest in the world due to the unique geography of the Bay of Fundy. These tidal fluctuations affect the river's flow and water levels, creating dynamic conditions for local ecosystems and recreational activities.
We are located about 10 miles south of Calais, Maine. Calais borders New Brunswick, Canada, and is connected by three key bridges. The most prominent is the International Bridge, which links Calais directly to the city of St. Stephen, providing a vital crossing for trade and travel. Additionally, the Calais-St. Stephen Bridge and the nearby Milltown Bridge facilitate cross-border movement, enhancing economic and cultural ties between the two regions. These bridges play a crucial role in fostering cooperation and interaction between the communities on both sides of the border. So if you want to take a trip to visit New Brunswick, make sure to bring a passport with you because it’s definitely worth the trip. Calais is the hub of our area and offers shopping and restaurants, and the local hospital. Further south about 2 miles down the road is a public boat launch.
Calais also boasts a nine hole golf course with a pro shop, the St. Croix country club. This country club is recognized as the easternmost golf course in the United States. Its location near the Canadian border and proximity to the Atlantic Ocean makes it unique in terms of geography. This distinction adds to its charm and appeal for golfers looking to experience a round in such a picturesque setting.
