Just 20 minutes away is Hunting Island State Park with 3 miles of wide pristine beaches - voted 7th of the top 25 beaches in the U.S. by Travelers Choice. There are also walking and bike trails through the forest near the lagoon. Climb the lighthouse and look for dolphins, pelicans and bald eagles - they are there! You might also want to stop on the way home from the beach and buy some freshly caught fish or shrimp right where the shrimp boats come in! Lastly, there are several fine public golf courses and tennis courts within 15 minutes of the house if a little more activity is your thing!

Wonderful place to relax and explore nature. Morning coffee sitting on patio watching the birds to kayaking next to dolphins that was what I enjoyed. Views and trees in yard were welcoming. Large yard to roam in was nice. Being indoors with open floor plan and view outdoors was enjoyable as well. Enjoyed fresh produce from island stands. Watermelon was sweet and tomatoes were delicious. From the Islands to Bay Street and being with family was a great time making memories.
The house is in a wonderful location with great views. The outdoor shower should not be missed!

Thank you so much for your review and so gald you had an enjoyable stay
Come back soon!
Spent the week fishing Lucy Creek and exploring Beaufort with the family. We're regulars to Beaufort and have settled that this is our favortie place we've stayed at and continue to come back. Easy access to town and the Sea Islands and of course boat docking and accesibility is a must. The house is perfect for us and the kitchen makes you WANT to cook at home, although we vistited many great restaurants. Beedo's, Johnson Creek Tavern, Low Country Produce, and of course Fish Camp on 11th Street are all some of our favorties restaurants. The backyard was great for the kids (6 & 10 boys) and the neighborhood was perfect for walking or riding a bike. Sam's Point Boat Launch is less than 5 mins away so it makes it easy access for getting the boat in and out. I was outfished by my 10 yr old who caught 7 Reds, a 16.5" Trout and a little Flounder so he got his first Low Country Slam. Grayco Hardware is a wonderful place to go for fishing stuff.
Beautiful house. Very comfortable and feels like home. Can come and go at low tide in boat which is very important to us, so that’s a giant plus!

Tammy and her family were great guests! We were very appreciative that she was able to help us with an irrigation system 'malfunction '. glad they had a good time and hope they come again.
The home has gorgeous views of the water. It is a peaceful location for kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing or just watching the wildlife. The kitchen is open and very user friendly for making meals at home. Owner was quick to reply to questions and very helpful. Will definitely stay here again.

We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay at our home. We also love the view the quiet and the wildlife. Glad you did not experience the recent tropical storm. Be safe.
Right after the storm, but power was on and we had a wonderful time! Terry was great about communicating with us about everything.
It’s our 5 or 6 time at her house and won’t be our last!
Place was wonderful, location was great, pictures didn’t do the home justice, was a lot prettier than pictured. Only problem was the roaches. Needs an exterminator, otherwise fantastic.

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. But so sorry about the bugs. Because we are so close to our pristine creek, we try to be environmentally safe by not using many insecticides but we still attempt to deter the bugs. They seem to like our hot summers.
Such a beautiful property. Large kitchen that is bright and airy. Primary bedroom overlooks creek and yard. Home has everything you could ever want or need. The house was very clean and communication with the owner was excellent. Can hardly wait until next year.
Perfect location for boating, fishing, family, and relaxing. The house had everything we could possibly need and the location was perfect. Felt isolated but was within 15 minutes of groceries and attractions. Caught every possible fish, crab, etc we could hope for. The deer and ospreys were such a delight. Can’t wait to visit next year. Thank you so much. Couldn’t ask for a better stay. We stayed for two weeks and we were still sad to leave.

Oh you folks just did it all !
So glad you had a great time - despite the storms?
We love sharing all the things you mentioned and we hope you’ll come back next year!
And thanks for this wonderful review 😎
My wife and our 2 boys had a wonderful time the river house… perfect for fishing and loved the well-stocked open kitchen for cooking. House was stocked with all the necessities for a family of four.
The boys loved the backyard and we saw deer in the early morning. Sams Point Boat Landing is a short ride and we had room to park the trailer in the driveway.
Perfect location as it was easy to get to Beaufort and Sea Islands, and came with a Hunting Island pass. House is older but updated and clean. Very comfortable beds and linens.
We had such a great time. The house was so clean and inviting. We ended up having a lot of rain. But the kids had a great time just hanging out at the house. We did puzzles and watched movies. Everything we could think of was available at the house. Terry thought of everything. Thank you so much for sharing your house with us

Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with my family. We had a wonderful week And really enjoyed Hanging out and relaxing On the dock. We brought our boat so we spent a lot of time out on the water, We went to Morgan Island and saw the monkeys and banked on a sand bar. My boys caught fish, shrimp and crabs from the dock and we saw dolphins swimming past in the marsh. We hated having to leave but we are already looking forward to returning. We are so happy that you had an enjoable time. You certainly took advantage of the lovely surrounding waters~
Be safe and well and come back again!!
The location on the river and close proximity to town and the beach were perfect for our family. Having the garage was great because we could store our kayaks and beach chairs while not in use. Everything was clean and well-maintained. My only negative was that there were so many personal items in the house that it made it feel that we intruding on someone. Also, because there were so many items in the fridge, we had a hard time fitting our food in there for the week.

WE are so glad you enjoyed your stay at our home in Beaufort. We certainly love it - our large family spends quite a bit of time there. Yes, we do have a lot of personal items, family photos, books, DVDs that make us feel its our home away from home. Since our various family members use the house a lot, we hate to have to buy ketchup, mustard, soy sauce, etc each time we come. So we leave those somewhat non-perishable items in the fridge. Also thinking that rental guests might like not having to buy items that they might use just once.
Lost count of how many times we've stayed at this property. We love it so much, we finally convinced our daughter and son-in-law to come down with our granddaughter. She loved the Yia Yia sign so much. She thought I was the only one in the world haha
THEY LOVED IT! We went to Bay Street, Savannah, Hunting Island Beach, and ate at some amazing restaurants. The men went on a fishing charter and brought back dinner. We fished and crabbed from the dock and had a ton of action! A dolphin came and swam around right under the dock. Such an amazing week. Terri is super sweet and always stays in touch.
Highly highly recommend!

If you go to Beaufort, SC, stay in this house!
My husband and I went to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary, and it was just delightful. The house has a wonderful glassed-in patio area that allowed us to enjoy all the wildlife (nesting ospreys, squirrels, bluebirds, cardinals, and other) even on the two days that it rained. We went fishing and crabbing down on the dock and enjoyed the covered area for a cocktail or two! In addition, the house was close enough to downtown Beaufort to enjoy all the restaurants and beauty of that old town, walk down Bay Street, see many of the old houses and locations of movies. We were also very quickly able to get to Hunting Island State Park to enjoy the ocean, as well as climb the lighthouse for a wonderful view. It was one of the most relaxing vacations we have ever had, and the comfort of all aspects of the house was certainly the reason. We will return!!!!

Thank you so much for your very nice review. And also thank you for helping us with 'maintenance issues' such as our goofy irrigation system . We appreciate your help.
You have mentioned all the things that our family so much loves when we get to stay in our home on Lady's Island -- the birds and wildlife, fishing and cocktails on the dock, the beach and the charming town of Beaufort. Come back soon!!
About the host
Hosted by Ed Dillman
We owners, weary of grey Pennsylvania winters, were looking for a southern location near beaches, nature, golf, tennis, and sun. To our delight, we found beautiful Beaufort – a diverse community, steeped in history, architecture, nature and more. Beaufort more than fit our requirements.
Why they chose this property
We have spectacular views of creeks and miles of marsh, which changes by the hour and colors change by the season, gorgeous sunrises and soft shadows at sunset. We watch a pair of osprey rearing their family just near our dock and wait for the slight “whoosh” that signals dolphins swimming in creek.
What makes this property unique
Gorgeous views.. amazing dock.. fishing, crabbing, shrimping, etc. right from dock.. wonderful wildlife.. close to beaches, shopping, sightseeing, golfing, tennis, Farmer's Markets, and many other fabulous things... Bring your boat, dock on our private dock & explore beautiful Beaufort in your boat. No landing traffic!!
