Lovely property for four set on a working farm with its own garden and friendly peacock and dog. Children can't wander around the farm for safety reasons but there's plenty to do around. Well placed for Dover, Canterbury and Battle (site of the battle of Hastings) plus all the beaches in the area. Everything you needed was there. Really enjoyed our stay.
The property is fine if a little small, however the water pressure is inadequate for showering, bathing etc, as it takes too long to fill a bath and the shower won’t operate for more than a few seconds due to lack of pressure. Needs to be looked at. Not Vrbo standard.

Dear Leonard,
I am glad you found it to be a nice place overall, but really wish you had gotten in touch during your stay to report the water pressure issue.
On learning from your review, the owner immediately investigated the abnormal water pressure and it turned out to be a faulty tap, which was replaced immediately.
I am sorry this impacted your experience of the property, but it would have been a quick fix had this been reported during your stay.
Lovely and clean. Fully equipped. The photos on the website represented the size of the place correctly. It is small but fine for our needs which were a base from which to explore the area. Returning to piping hot water and a fully equipped kitchen to make our evening meal in. The occasional sighting of the resident peacock was a delight.
If you don‘t mind agricultural machines working next door sometimes it is a nice spot and you will find everything you need for your stay. Breakfast or dinner in the garden is a must. There are lots of birds, a squirrel, a barn owl - and even the peacock comes for a visit as well as the green woodpeckers in the front yard.
Was a stunning property, lovely beds, helpful staff. The place was very clean and well looked after, only thing kitchen cupboard door handles need tighting up.
Would love to stay again soon.
Enjoyed location good for visiting gardens as we are keen gardeners enjoyed the peacocks visit glad the neighbour told us he liked cheese would have liked a better garden and furniture to sit in but it was as seen in the advert.
Perfect for the two of us and a lovely location.
Well stocked kitchen, but for non-Europeans, a guide to operating the oven and microwave would have been helpful. Living room furniture looking "tired" but comfortable.
The peacock coming for breakfast was an unexpected delight.
Because we arrived from a different direction, it took us a while to find Acorn Cottage; a sign by the road could help. The cottage is a cute little home away from home. Roomy double bedroom with good bed. Spacious bathroom with plenty of space for toiletries. The twin room is compact with comfy beds. The open plan kitchen and lounge is small but ample outside space is available for children to play in.
The dishwasher is tiny so needs a run after every meal. Put the dishwasher pod in the cutlery basket; the flap sometimes fails. Fridge is also small but does include a freezer drawer. The DVD player is integrated in the TV (slot on right side).
If you want to enjoy a Sunday dinner out, Chequers at the Green in High Halden (4miles) is the only pub in the area serving food after 5pm; nice pub and we enjoyed our meal.
The farmer's friendly dog might pay a visit; she does not enter the house. We don't know if the same thing can be said for the neighbour's peacock, but he is friendly.
We only saw Felicity as we were leaving but she was available by phone/Whatsapp. Unfortunately, we didn't get to be at the cottage as much as we had planned because of an unexpected hospital stay...
