Incredible views from the cottage and luxurious beds made for a restful and relaxing stay. Dunfanaghy’s newest coffee shop Casa is excellent and recommend a visit to the workhouse. Thank you Annemarie for letting us stay in your cottage.
A lovely house with lovely views. Clean spacious, comfortable, well equipped and nicely decorated. Host responsive to questions. Would stay again, great for a family or group.
Panaramic views, extremely comfortable, 2k from Downtown. Market on Saturday super fresh produce and fish. Convient base to beaches, Horn Head, Ard Forest, Glenveagh, Derrveagh mountains. All topped by the attentive and helpful Annemarie. Lovely stay!
Situated high up with stunning views overlooking the estuary this property was the perfect place for us
Comfortable beds and well equipped with a cosy log fire
Annemarie was very helpful and quick to respond I would highly recommend and would definitely return if in Dunfanaghy again
The cottage is lovely and even more beautiful than the pictures depict. Very cozy beds, lots of room to spread out and well equipped kitchen. Lovely fireplace which we used and many windows to see those magnificent views. Absolutely stunning views and our family enjoyed sitting outside watching the sunset. Very convenient to much on the west coast of Donegal county such as Horn Head, Fanad lighthouse, Sliabh Liag. Good local restaurants and grocery store. Highly recommend and wish we had stayed longer!!
My husband and I spent a week in Cornrake Cottate with our 3 children. The cottage is absolutely gorgeous, immaculately clean, well stocked and cozy with beautiful views to boot! Everyone remarked on how comfortable they found the beds and loved hearing the sheep and cows every now and then in the morning.
Annmarie, the owner, was lovely and communicative throughout our stay. I would highly recommend this property.
This property is exactly as described. The views are wonderful and we were treated to glorious sunsets. The space is more suitable for a group than a couple and I can imagine families happily gathering here. Beds and bathrooms all comfortable and clean. Annemarie was attentive and responsive to a couple of minor issues (we got lost!) We loved exploring the Dunfanaghy area.
We really enjoyed our stay in Dunfanaghy. It was a very warm and uncomplicated communication.
We were surprised with a very attentive and delicious welcome.
The house has a great location and offers a beautiful view. It is comfortably and stylishly furnished and offers a special atmosphere and is well equipped.
Dunfanaghy is a charming little town and has a lot to offer in the surrounding area.
We would love to come back.
I went for health reasons & wanted my family with me so that we could do things together. The weather wasn’t that good but I still sat out side taking in the clean fresh air. Better beds that those in 5* hotels. The whole lay out of the cottage was so carefully planned

Good sight and nice staying
Fine, but for finding you have to read the findinginstructions very carefully and you must know how to handle the eircode, which is not known in Germany. It would be helpful , when it is not the last point of the common instructions of handling warm water etc.

We fell in love with Corncrake Cottage the moment we arrived! I only hoped it was as gorgeous as it looked from the website photos, and infact, it was better. The cottage is decorated and furnished in a way that makes you feel so relaxed and at home and the views from almost every window are breathtaking. The lovely touches such as the bottle of wine, wood for the fire, binoculars, excellent sound system, blue-ray player and discs, all made for a perfect stay. I really can't recommend Corncrake Cottage enough and only hope it's not too long before we get to stay there again. 10/10!!!
. I really cannot recommend Corncrake Cottage enough and
The cottage is lovely, well-appointed, and the views outstanding!
The reason for a less than brilliant review was our experience with “controlled heating”.
Early December with a chill both outside and unfortunately inside as well! The thermostat is pre-set and locked and the heating never synced appropriately for customer comfort.
This is something one must cover with the owner if traveling “off season”!!
We loved the cottage’s sweeping views of the sea and village. The decor was lovely and it was well stocked with necessities. The location was not as indicated by VRBO. It was a quite different, and we did not know the actual location until a couple of days before we were to check in. There is another Corncrake Cottage which is actually in the village Dunfanaghy that appears on the map when you look at Dunfanaghy through VRBO’s map link. The distances to attractions provided by VRBO were completely wrong. Nothing is within walking distance. It was also quite cold even after we requested the heat be turned on. We were forced to use a very temperamental stove to burn wood or solid fuel for heat. There were lovely sunsets and several rainbows which appeared through the many windows and doors. It is well situated for a family.
Fantastic elegant rural home, with elevated views over much of Dunfanaghy and the sea beyond. We loved the coal fire for when rhe weather turned poor. We thoroughly recommend this home for a tranquil break in this part of Donegal.
Sehr schönes Haus mit tollem Ausblick, das etwas abgeschieden, aber nicht einsam liegt. Die Kommunikation mit dem Host lief immer zügig und reibungslos.
Such a beautiful home in a truly stunning location
We had a wonderful stay at Corncrake Cottage. The house is stunning and very clean. Communication with Annemarie was great and she messaged us once we were there to check that we were happy. The view is stunning and the cottage is just a few minutes drive from Dunfanaghy. Absolutely nothing to fault and I really hope to be able to stay again.
Corncrake Cottage was perfect for housing 6 adults for 4 nights in Dunfanaghy. Very spacious and welcoming. We could walk into the sweet town of Dunfanaghy and there was great hiking on Horn Head and other locations. We highly recommend this lovely cottage.
