About this property
Hirschbach Haus- Renovated 1936 Farmhouse 1 Mile S of Main St on 1 Private Acre
This old farmhouse was a diamond in the rough when we first bought it in January 2016. After 10 months of renovations we opened in November 2016 and are constantly making improvements based on customer feedback to create the best vacation for our guests. The newest addition being another covered patio off the back side of the detached garage.
It's almost a completely new house with all the old character that made us fall in love with the property including the original windows, doors, trim work, chimney and refinished wood floors that bring warmth and charm to every room. On the structural side the main living area has been completely opened for a true open-concept kitchen, dining, and living space perfect for any large gathering complete with a beautiful wood covered vaulted ceiling. The home's foundation, electrical, plumbing, and AC system have also been completely updated making it efficient and reliable for your wine country getaway.
There are three bedrooms in the main house. The master bedroom has a queen bed and Tempurpedic daybed/trundle with its own private bathroom featuring a double vanity and refinished cast iron tub. The other two bedrooms each have a king bed and share the main bathroom which also has a double vanity. A renovated 1931 clawfoot tub/shower combo completes the main bath with historical charm and elegance.
The living room has a brand new couch with queen sized pull-out bed and Termpurpedic memory foam mattress. Each bed is complete with 4 pillows, 800 thread count sheets, down alternative comforter, and Laura Ashley quilt to keep you cozy during the cool hill country nights.
Outside you'll find several different areas to relax or play on this one acre oasis complete with multiple dining tables, dual grill for propane or charcoal cooking, and fire pit. There is plenty of yard space to play games or watch the birds and deer that pass through the yard to eat along the creek edge every morning and evening. Hence the name of our property, Hirschbach Haus, which means Deer Creek in German. A nod to the history and culture of this adorable little tourist town.
The house is 1 mile away from Main Street where most of the local shops and restaurants are located. It's a 15-20 minute walk or just a couple minutes in the car. Come and enjoy an escape to the hill country in this lovely renovated farmhouse. We promise you won't be disappointed!

This house a diamond. We booked this house for a girls trip, 7 women, slept great, loved the aesthetic and the ambiance! We slept great. Beds are comfortable, layout of the house is perfect for a large group and then hosts were on top of it. Definitely recommend and would go back!
It was exactly what we needed, except the sleeper sofa didn’t work.

Nice, quaint home
The home was very nice...well kept, clean, and had everything we needed. The only thing I would have to say is it's not in a very good neighborhood which is hard to know until you get there...but it is close to Main Street so you can easily get to the things you want to do.
Our stay was perfect. This home doesn’t lack for anything! Better than its description. Beds were comfy, the owners go above and beyond making certain you have all you need. One mile from Main Street, convenient to everything! Saw deer on the property and enjoyed our fire pit. Celebrated my birthday and the owners even left me a bottle of wine! Very private on a dead end, and on one lovely acre. Comfortable living area for my family, and plenty of dining space too! I will definitely book here again, no doubt! Thank you both so much for your hospitality! Also, we enjoyed the photo album with the “before” pictures. You guys did an amazing job on the remodel!
Hirschbach Haus was everything we wanted for our friends and family bi-annual reunion. We found a cozy rustic farmhouse that has been lovingly up-dated without removing any of the original charm. Big king-size beds with wonderful linens. More towels in the bathrooms than we could use. Someone had fun with a labeling gun as almost everything was labeled. This made everything easy to find and operate. Tons of silverware, plates and glasses. There was even a Canadian coffee cup that was used daily by our Canadian friend.
Big backyard with lots of space for corn hole and plenty of outside seating. The pictures on the listing do not do it justice.
The property is at the end of a cul-d-sac. I know other reviews commented on the neighborhood. We found it to be safe and incredibly quite. Yes, it is a street with double-wide trailers as homes. Not everyone can afford to live in a the nicer homes in town.
Best neighbor was the black goat that was tied up to a tree around the corner from the house. Everyday the owner would put it out where it could be social with anybody that came by. Defiantly a fan favorite.
This is my family’s third time to stay here. The location is close to Main St, but just far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet of the property. The beds are super comfortable.
The house and property are great, but the area is a little sketchy. The neighborhood is run down, but conveniently located to Fredericksburg and the surrounding area. The house was very clean, and we had a wonderful time.
We loved the house. The location was a quick drive to Main Street. I was traveling with my sister, mom, and aunt and we enjoyed the stay. We loved watching the deer in the evening!
We stayed at this property for 2 nights and it was clean and comfortable. The property had deer that came around all the time. It was close to shopping.
8 women from the ages of 84 to 42 enjoyed the house for a 70th birthday celebration. The house was clean and had everything we needed! The body wash and soaps felt like you were in a spa!! We enjoyed the big yard with visits from deer and a beautiful night at the fire pit. We would recommend as it was perfect to hang out or close to downtown and wineries. As you drive down the street to get to the house don't let the neighborhood worry you, as soon as you turn into the driveway you have entered a little oasis with updates and cute character in the cozy place!! Thank you for all the updates and care you have put into your place!
9 ladies stayed here for girls weekend and we were all comfortable and happy. Host over provided with organic coffee, all natural products in the bathrooms, bottle of wine at arrival, plenty of towels and comfortable beds and pillows! I can’t write out all the extras we received. It felt like it was exactly what I would have done if I was hosting and trying to make my best friend comfortable! Our weather wasn’t the best so we didn’t get to utilize the huge backyard and outdoor seating as much as I wished we could have but there are several tables and a fire pit that are cool too!
Great time, great place to stay. Super close to HEB, awesome fire place and dinining outside. We had 9 adults 1 child and 1 infant plenty of space for us all! 10 out of 10 would recommend again.
This is a cute little getaway with a short drive to downtown. We loved how many beds and places to sleep there were!! It was perfect for a place to stay as we explored wine country. The hosts were incredible and fast on the reply of any questions! If we ever come back to Fredricksburg, I will definitely see if this place is available! Loved it!! 😍
Where do I begin, the house was so open and inviting, the bedrooms and bathrooms were roomy. The backyard is so private and we had a buck and doe visit us too. Chelsea was so sweet and prompt with questions. She even sent us a Jenga game. She really goes above and beyond with her care for her VRBO.
My husband has been working at home since the pandemic. I wanted to give him a change of scenery and this home was perfect! It is so beautiful inside and so peaceful inside. We watched the abundance of deer during the day and the lightning bugs at night. The bed was comfortable and the cleanliness was amazing! If we ever come back to Fredericksburg, we will definitely stay here again! Just perfect!

Great place to stay!
Had a girls weekend there and it was perfect. The house is big and 9 of us slept comfortably. It was nice and quiet there. We also brought firewood and made s’mores. Would definitely go back.
