About this property
The Mountain Lookout
Welcome to The Mountain Lookout, a tranquil and luxurious escape nestled in the mountains of Boulder, Colorado. This modern cabin is the ultimate getaway for couples and individuals seeking seclusion, tranquility and inspiration. With a 17-foot-tall glass wall, the home is designed to immerse you in stunning panoramic views, whether you're lounging in the living room or waking up in the bedroom.
The cabin is surrounded by hundreds of acres of open space. Step outside to discover hiking trails that lead to the historic mining town of Gold Hill, where remnants of Colorado’s rich past are still visible.
Inside, you'll find a meticulously crafted Douglas fir kitchen, complete with Sub-Zero and BlueStar appliances. Whether you're cooking up a gourmet meal or simply enjoying a morning cappuccino, this space makes every moment special. After a day of hiking or exploring, unwind in the cabin's hot tub, perfectly positioned to give you views of the surrounding mountains and starry skies.
When it's time to relax for the night, settle into the custom-made canopy bed, built from salvaged black walnut wood. Throughout the cabin, the heated concrete floors provide warmth and a cozy feel, making even winter stays a delight.
The Sugarloaf Mountain Lookout offers an experience that blends modern luxury with nature’s beauty, creating the perfect environment to connect, unwind, and feel inspired.
Please note that the mile long access road to the home is a steep and rough dirt road and a 4WD or AWD vehicle is required (high clearance isn't required). In the winter months, guests must carry chains and be prepared to use them. While the road is plowed once per day during storms, if chains are required to make it the last mile to the cabin, guests may park at the bottom and use the provided chained utility vehicle.

About the host
Hosted by Nathaniel Farber

Hi there! My name is Nathaniel (I also go by Nat) and I've lived in Boulder for 19 years. I moved from California to study at CU, fell in love with Boulder and never left. I enjoy daydreaming about design, working with wood and metal, gardening, cooking, and spending time with my 5 year old daughter. I designed the mountain home in my listing and built it as a passion project on and off over 10 years. It is a pleasure to share it with guests.
