Wonderful, cozy stay!

My family and I were looking for a cozy getaway to spend New Year's together, and this place was just perfect! It was warm (we loved the pellet stove), had plenty of space to accommodate all of us, and had everything we needed to make our home-cooked dinners (including a grill!) Irene was very responsive and communicative throughout. Highly recommend this lovely cabin!

incredible solitude, gorgeous house

Irene's house is a total gem. It is so secluded - truly no other houses anywhere near it. There's a ton of cool features, like two BBQ grills, a fire pit, an awesome patio, and the interior of the house is well laid out as well, with several beds and two separated hangout areas. Communication with Irene was simple and seamless, always swift responses when we had questions. Finally, the location is really optimal. It's deep in the woods and you feel like you're completely alone in the best way possible, but it's just a few miles to Narrowsburg and Shohola/Barryville - great Delaware River access, close to grocery stores, etc. I hope to stay again soon.

Family Christmas Getaway

My family and I decided to look into a rental for our Christmas gathering since we had a lot of people from out of town. This listing stood out among the others for its space, amenities and location. Half the party drove up from Philly and the other from NYC with similar drive times. Once arriving, we were met with a picturesque snow covered cabin in the woods. Our party of 10 adults and 3 kids settled in with plenty of rooms and beds for everyone to be comfortable. We spent the next 3 days enjoying the property. We brought enough groceries for the trip and the kitchen had everything we needed to make breakfast, lunch, and dinner with plenty of snacks. We planned to make a trip to Big Bear Ski close by but didn’t get to make a reservation. We didn’t miss out on snow fun though. That day we took advantage of the fire pit and sleds on property. Every night we enjoyed the pellet stove to keep us warm and played with games we brought and some we found in the house. Our host, Irene was very responsive and quickly provided us any information we needed. We are very thankful for our stay and will keep this on our list for any future gatherings.

I wish I had taken more photos to show the true condition of this property. The property description should mention four of the queen beds are in the loft area which is only accessible by a very narrow spiral staircase that is not easily maneuverable and could be dangerous especially for children and older adults. there is minimal lighting in the loft area with nowhere to put or store any personal items. The half bath is also on the second floor and is a tight space. There is no place to put a tooth brush or any personal bathroom toiletries in any of the bathrooms. The half bath upstairs is the only bathroom with a mirror. The bathrooms are all very small with very small showers. Signage also states nothing is to be flushed down the toilet including toilet paper. The bathrooms were clean but the house in general was dusty. Irene was very responsive to messages, which was appreciated. There are a lot of the owners belongings in the house which is odd for a Vrbo, including personal prescription controlled substance medication that should be properly stored. The house is very secluded and quiet. There was plenty of firewood for the firepit. Overall best suited for someone looking for a very rustic experience.

I really enjoy spending time outdoors, whether it’s hiking, swimming, or just relaxing in nature. I also love getting creative with crafts and have a big appreciation for Greece such as exploring new places and soaking in the sun is always something I enjoy.

Why they chose this property

I love this neighborhood because it’s quiet and peaceful, a perfect escape from my busy workweek as a teacher in Queens. Even just a single weekend here makes me feel like I’ve stepped into a calmer, slower-paced world. I enjoy taking walks around the area, noticing nature and simply soaking in the calm. It’s the kind of place where you can truly recharge, enjoy a cup of coffee outside, or take a long stroll without feeling rushed.

What makes this property unique

First, there are no neighbors, which makes the property feel completely private. Whether I’m spending a quiet weekend alone or having friends over to escape the city, we can enjoy the space exactly how we want. Another thing that makes this property stand out is its proximity to the Pennsylvania border, which opens up so many options for dining, attractions, and outdoor adventures. Finally, the cabin itself is spacious and well-equipped, with plenty of room for relaxing, playing games, or just enjoying time together, making it a perfect getaway for groups or solo travelers alike.
