Property was fantastic. Two items to improve: 1. Cleaning fee is absurd. 2. Checkout time of 10 is also annoying. Plusses: incredibly quiet. Winter Harbor is not crowded like Bar Harbor. Beautiful location. Well maintained. Beds were very comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked. Everything worked.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback! We're so glad you enjoyed the peaceful setting of Winter Harbor and appreciated the comfortable beds, well-stocked kitchen, and the care that goes into maintaining the property.
We also appreciate your comments regarding the cleaning fee and checkout time. We understand those can feel inconvenient. Our cleaning fee reflects the extensive turnover process required to prepare the home to the high standards our guests expect, and our 10:00 a.m. checkout allows our team enough time to thoroughly clean, inspect, and prepare the property for incoming guests the same day. When our schedule allows, we're always happy to accommodate a later checkout upon request.
Thank you again for staying with us. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back to the quiet beauty of Winter Harbor in the future!
My husband and I had the best stay at Slack Tide. We were able to really unwind and relax while away. Although we didn't bring our kids, the entire property is set up wonderfully for a large family group.
We had a wonderful time making breakfast and sipping coffee while having direct coastal views. Although it was late Fall, the property was still beautiful and we could tell it is absolutely stunning during the Spring/Summer. We did brave the beach a little which was easy from the walking path that goes directly from the back of the housw to the rocky beach.
Such a wonderful spot for a quick getaway for us! And the little town of Winter Harbor is such a beautiful location to visit!
Beautiful!!! We stayed 6 nights. The house is beautiful and well furnished with clean comfortable couches, chairs, beds, etc. Plenty of room to spread out and the kitchen was fully outfitted with plenty of plates, silverware, pans, utensils, etc. Large refrigerator/freezer, drip coffee maker, toaster oven, microwave, garbage disposal in sink, dishwasher and plenty of counter space. The view was spectacular. Quiet and beautiful sunsets. The deck was fully furnished with Adirondack chairs and tables all in very good condition. The beach area was medium to small rocks. I had fun hunting for sea glass and found some! The bedrooms all had blinds and windows that opened with screens. I would recommend room darkening window coverings as the 4 am sunrise is very bright. Fireplace is functional. Unfortunately, the smoke odor lingers. Opened windows to air it out. There were fans in every room. Not sure about a/c and I assume there is heat but didn't locate the thermostats? The big surprise was the widow's peak on the 3rd floor. Fun to climb the stairs leading up to the small room and deck. What a view. The garden area out back facing the water was full of lupines and beach roses. What a sight. Even a local deer stopped by every night to enjoy them.Local TV is limited, so bring your streaming ID's and passwords. It is an LG smart TV. There was a DVD player and CD player. The house has board games, jigsaw puzzles, books etc. Beautifully decorated.
