Our party consisted of seven adults and two children under two years old. The location of the house was great for exploring Acadia National Patk and Bar Harbor. The house was well taken care of and the owner was very responsive to our questions and concerns. We would highly recommend large families booking this house when vacationing at Acadia.
The house itself was great. Plenty of space and everything that we needed to cook in kitchen.Nice outdoor space for kids. Great location to get into town - 5 minutes - or get into the park. For us the only drawback was the location of house next to a very busy road . Could not tell from pictures that would be the case. The owner was very responsive to any issues that we had. We had a good time with beautiful weather and lots of places to explore - all within a half hour away.
This is a fabulous home away from home for a family vacation. The house is warm and inviting with plenty of room to relax after a day of exploring Acadia National Park. It is close to downtown Bar Harbor and the entrance to Acadia.
We really enjoyed our stay here! The house was so nice and comfortable. Very spacious and clean. There are two laundry units which was great since it was my adult daughter, and my husband and I. The neighborhood was quiet and right off of a golf course. This is just a few minutes to downtown Bar Harbor and perfectly convenient to everything. There was a book with some helpful suggestions and info about our stay that also made everything very easy!
Thank you!
Our family had a lovely vacation. The home was spacious. It offered plenty of room for all of the guests. We enjoyed the large kitchen and living room for gatherings and mealtime.
We will be back! Thank you!
A great space and a great host. There were problems that we ran into but were helped to be solved by our host. It is very close to Acadia but you still probably need to drive and not quite walkable to Bar Harbor but all in all a happy medium. The host is very kind and communicative but the house could be cleaner and more looked after. If there was more local guidance provided (favorite places to eat, to go, etc) that would be appreciated by guests.
This house had lots of space for our family of ten, with attractively furnished rooms and a big, well-equipped kitchen. The location is close (hikable) to town and to park entrances. It is very close to Eagle Lake road, which has heavy traffic of buses, trucks, and cars. We had to close the windows and run the window a/c units in order to sleep. We weren't able to lock the french doors and felt uneasy about leaving the house unsecured when we were away for long periods. During our week there was major construction at a house that shares the property, with trucks and workers parked on the yard, so we had noise and lack of privacy on that side as well. Overall, our family had a happy week together seeing Acadia.
We rented the property for 3 weeks in October. The property manager Kim was very kind and I would stay in any property she manages. The property pictures and spaces are accurate. The amenities are not available to everyone year round. Upon arrive we didnt receive check in info. Once we accessed the house not only was The hot tub broken, but all the fireplaces had signs saying not to use them. The house is right on the main road not in the looped road as described. Took a week of negotiations with owner, he was going to charge us cancellation fees when we offered to leave to save him repair costs, eventually he fixed the hot tub, he complained about the cost of repair, gave permission of wood fireplaces (only 1 of gas fireplaces worked) and provided noise reduction solutions. During this time the owner’s girlfriend was there unannounced pruning a single bush with scissors for about 30 mins outside the kitchen window where I sat working. A week later there was scratching n chewing in ceiling of bedrooms and the handyman removed 3 dead mice and set traps for others. It would be a great VRBO with a host that cared for tenants and the house.
This was a great house from which to explore both Bar Harbor and Acadia. The kitchen/dining room setup was ideal and allowed our large family to eat together every evening. Can’t wait to return!
This home was perfect for our extended family, including a couple of dogs, to gather for the Thanksgiving Holiday. We love to cook! Roasting our turkey, preparing sides and baking pies with the Viking stove/oven was awesome. Plenty of room for everyone to find some down time. Close enough to town for morning sunrise walk on the Shore Path and Black Friday shopping. We also saw many trails in walking distance to the house but did not have enough time to venture on to them. The lit tree in the third floor lookout added a festive touch. Joseph was very responsive to a minor television matter and had it up and going without delay. We would definitely return!
Great house for our friends! Lots of comfortable space for everyone! Easy to get into the park and town. We sat outside most nights and used the fire pit. The fire pit needs to be replaced.
This was a beautiful and spacious home for our family reunion.
Our family of 10 had plenty of room and the proximity to Bar Harbor and Acadia was really very convenient. Our host answered all of my questions and our stay was a delight.
My group of 7 friends and dogs thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kebo Cottage. Joseph is a terrific host and responded to all of our questions about biking, lobsters, and coffee pots. The location of the "cottage" is PERFECT for getting quickly to Acadia as well as into Bar Harbor. We had so much space we could not use all of the rooms in the home. We enjoyed daily coffee on the back deck and having a spacious area to walk dogs for potty breaks was a great feature. I have already started recommending this home to friends who are looking to travel to the area. Thank you Joseph for sharing your home with us!
The house was more then adequate for our family. They were a pet friendly host/home and our golden doodle says thank you for hosting me as well. Great location for all activities in Bar Harbor and Acadia. It made for a vacation full of memorirs
