1940 Hyde Park Bungalow With Office

Charming 1940's single family bungalow home with original hardwood floors, original knobs and other fixtures, backyard, and plenty of parking. We completely remodeled the home in 2016, but maintained its original character and charm. There's a full 2 bedrooms with queen size beds and a twin bed in a 3rd bonus room/office to sleep a total of 5 people. The bonus room has a desk and chair and makes for a perfect office or sleeping for one. Complimentary laundry facility is included. The home has everything that you would need from dishes, pots and pans, a toaster, stove, refrigerator, table and chairs, towels, and fresh sheets.

The high speed internet connection and wifi are provided by G00gle Fiber, which is one of the best, fastest, and most stable internet providers in Austin. G00gle TV provides one of the most up to date technologies for the best digital TV available.

It's located in the heart of Hyde Park in central Austin within walking distance to restaurants, a bakery, and other local businesses. ASTI, Quack's Mother's Cafe, Julio's, and several other restaurants are close by. There is a public bus stop one block away that will take you anywhere in the city including downtown.

My wife and I live nearby, so we're always available if you have any questions about Austin or need any suggestions for sights to see or places to eat. We hope that you select this wonderful guest house for your stay!

3) Feel free to leave any usable or new food/drinks in the kitchen for the cleaners to take home. They take what they can so it won’t go to waste. Anything else, please throw away.
4) Please turn the heat down to <70º F> in the winter, and please turn the A/C up to <80º F> in the summer. 5) Take out all trash. Please do not leave any trash. 6) Please lock all doors and windows.

A quiet oasis in Hyde Park

What a gem of a property in a wonderful location. We are repeat renters and will be back. It is so nice to be able to walk in the neighborhood to enjoy a meal or pick up groceries. From start to finish Pete is very responsive and his properties are well furnished and maintained.

Extended stay visiting family in Hyde Park

Strengths include: communication, location, true 2-bedroom, separate work space, comfortable beds. Areas of improvement: sparsely furnished (sofa only, no other furniture in living spaces), dank odor despite perpetual de-humidifier in dining room which is noisy and always running, no mirrors other than the small one above bathroom sink, coffee maker that does not turn off on its own, and very basic quality and quantity of kitchen utensils,etc - and small tv. The photos do not reflect peeling paint on ceiling and few other places, within the unit. Also noticed large hole in back screen door. With a few minor improvements, this unit could be more welcoming and comfortable.

Lovely Austin house!

Stayed in Austin for a family wedding with our two young children. The house was really clean and comfortable, and every one had plenty of room. Location was perfect!! We walked around the neighborhood quite a bit, and there’s great bakeries and restaurants right up the street. Property manager responded to any questions we had quickly.

Great spot, close to everything

This is a really convenient house in the middle of Hyde park. Four of us stayed here and were able to get to Deep Eddy, Barton Springs, Downtown, North Austin quickly and mostly avoiding traffic on the main roads of I35 and Mopac. Many great restaurants and Central Market are all within walking ( or scootering ) distance. Will definitely stay here again.

Comfortable stay in a newly appointed home. Adequate kitchen amenities (kitchen towels would be nice), great gas stove and large fridge. TV doesn’t have Roku or Apple TV type access which would be great. Street is noisy so we switched to other bedroom. Parking is great and easy access to various neighborhoods via car, bus or walking. Claw-foot tub/shower is not for those with balance or agility issues (ok for us).

A great place to stay!

The house is comfortable, has all the basics, very clean as well as being in a great location. Accessible to many local places on foot, or an easy drive. If you like to walk or run, very easy to do so in that location. A golf course nearby which also has a path around it. We will definitely stay there again on our next visit to Austin.

This is a great place in Hyde Park within walking distance of some of our favorite places like Quack's bakery and Mother's restaurant. It does lack a few basics, however. There were no dish towels, facial tissues, or good sized coffee mugs.

The house is clean and located within walking distance to good restaurants. If you plan on cooking, bring your own dish towels, spices, foil, storage containers, etc. Hyde Park is a great neighborhood with cute houses, good restaurants and safe for walking at night. It would be nice if there were chairs on the front porch and I suggest a door mat at the front door for wiping off shoes. Traffic noise can be loud in the front bedroom but it’s not bad. Pete responds to messages quickly.
