Located on PRIVATE ground in the middle of 9,000 acres of "The Scioto Trails State Forest". Both cabins have full amenities including Satellite TV, and WIFI. Area great for Hunting, Hiking, Horseback Riding, Vacation. Rent by the night, week or month. (2 night minimum required) Areas available for horses and horse trailers. The State Park located about a mile down the road has two lakes for fishing. No Smoking and No Pets. Please visit our website for more details and pictures.

Our stay was wonderful we had pretty much everything we needed for a week long stay. Cabin was clean and well stocked just add food and tired deer hunters . Plan to come back if they'll have us.

Ideal Get away. We'll be back!

Much more spacious than it looks from the outside, this place was built ideally for the purpose of getting away. Surrounded by trails and beautiful scenery, yet you can get to restaurants and Chillicothe in 20 minutes or so. The hosts were also great. They communicated very clearly and were available to answer questions quickly.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Cabin. Check in was easy, it was easy to find, in a beautiful location. At first, the hosts were very responsive. Unfortunately I can't give a 5 star rating because it stated full amenities included. There was a washer and dryer with no laundry soap. A coffee pot and filters with no coffee. And a shower with no shampoo, conditioner or body wash. It was way too far from any store for us to be able to go out last minute for these items that were missing. When we messaged the hosts asking if the coffee was hiding somewhere, we received no response. Otherwise, it was a suitable place to sleep.

It Was very clean. Had lovely time beds were super comfortable. Used the DVD and watch movies. As well the kitchen was well stocked and ready for me to cook. I loved it overall and can't wait to go again.

Weekend getaway

This property is absolutely amazing! Quiet and relaxing weekend getaway! The kids loved the cabin and we were able to just relax from the busy daily schedules at home. Not a far drive to town to enjoy some of the area attractions (children's museum, Hopewell mounds, arena mansion). We definitely recommend this cabin as you will truly enjoy your home away from home ❤

Family Getaway

Our family of five enjoyed a quick getaway. The cabin was perfect and spacious. Everything we needed was provided. We were close enough to a grocery store to get our groceries for our stay. It was a great property with swings and some open space to play. We fully enjoyed the area from hiking to water park to Tecumseh. We highly recommend this rental. Family getaway

The place was quaint and secluded and we had the best host/hostess ever! The tv was on the fritz but the family was all on it to make sure our stay was memorable! I believe they are going to upgrade on this Amenity.. we were definitely in the hills and enjoyed our stay only thing I would change is to write out instructions on how to use the remote and DVD player for dummies like us and put some huge potted plants out in front to make it even more inviting! It was a great price as well!! Would definitely stay again!

Lovely Little getaway!

We absolutely loved our time at the cabin! Chris and Kathy were great hosts, very gracious and excellent communication! The cabin was well equipped. The kitchen had everything we needed to make meals and the outdoor bbq grill was a great bonus. Beds were very comfortable. There is plenty of comfortable seating space for a family in the cabin too. We spent a lot of time hiking and swimming and fishing at Lake Caldwell just a very short drive up the road. Chris and Kathy allowed us to fish in their pond and provided a fire pit where we enjoyed smores in the evening. The outdoor drama Tecumseh was only about 20min away and is a must see! We are already planning a trip back to the cabin and highly recommend a stay! Thanks again Chris amd Kathy!!

Why they chose this property

We acquired this "mini horse farm" at an estate auction. We built our home here, after demolishing the old house.
We started on our first cabin in 2012. The original garage that sat empty on our property, was the perfect building to convert to a cabin. Our "Hunting" cabin turned out to have a homey atmosphere and be very comfortable.

The cabin has been busy and we have been blessed by all the visitors that have stayed with us.

So....... We built Cabin 2. Constructed "Pole Barn" style, it is anything but that on the inside.

What makes this property unique

We are located in the center of over 9,000-acres of The Scioto Trail State Forest, which is just minutes south of Chillicothe, OH. We offer easy access to miles of trails for horseback riding, mountain bike riding, hiking & hunting.
Trying to find something to do? Visit Historical Downtown Chillicothe. Do some shopping. Have lunch or dinner in one of the quaint restaurants.
Outdoor theater TECUMSEH (seasonal) is an attraction you wouldn't want to miss.
Many spring, summer and fall festivals.
