Located next to the Ski Resort, Bike Park and Water Park

Our recently renovated one bedroom Valley View condo is conveniently located on the third floor of The Appalachian building at Mountain Creek Ski Resort, Water Park and Bike Park. It is nicely furnished with all the amenities to meet your needs, including a fully equipped kitchen, large modern bathroom, two flat screen TVs and a complete array of linen, towels and bedding supplies.

The bedroom offers King Size Bed and the Living Room is equipped with a pull out Queen Size Sofa Bed perfect for kids or smaller adults.

Approximately 500 sq. ft. of living space, very clean with modern layout and a great Valley View.

The Ski Resort usually opens mid December and closes mid to end of March. (weather permitting)

The Bike Park opens in late April, early May and closes usually the last week of October. (weather permitting)

The Water Park is open during summer months only.

We are located only 50 miles from NYC and and 56 miles from Newark International Airport
High speed WiFi is available if you are planning to work remotely.

Outside, you can enjoy a variety of activities such as hiking, skiing (winter only), downhill biking, zip lining, golfing (there are 7 Golf Clubs nearby: Ballyowen, Black Bear, Cascades, Crystal Springs, Great Gorge, Minerals, Wild Turkey), fine dining, wine tasting, horse riding, apple picking, Warwick old school drive-in movie theater or just relaxing in the hotel's all season heated outdoor pool and hot tub.

We thought the Appalachian was very nice. The unit has all the basic comforts and is done well. The Host has good communication. The unit is well stocked with necessities. We were very disappointed that the unit Centrally A/C was not working and felt this should have been conveyed to us. The Auxiliary A/C Unit in the Living room did not efficiently cool down the bedroom. We were there for a summer wedding, and the morning sun really heats the unit up.

We had a wonderful time in Mountain Creek. The hosts of the condo were fantastic. They answered questions promptly and all instructions were easy to follow. The kitchen has 2 refrigerators, a Keurig and regular coffee pots along with coffee pods and creamer. The bathroom had a shower and tub with soap, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. Plenty of plugs to charge devices and many streaming apps on the TV. The pool was heated and there is also a hot tub. The best part was it was less than a 5 min. Walk to the water park and zip lining. We would definitely rent again and highly recommend this property.

The fire alarm went off from 3am to after 5am when I left. I could not reach the owners for over an hour. There was no on site staff so we called Vrbo and eventually had to call the police multiple times. We left after 5sm when the police and fire department were unable to stop the fire alarm to go off.

The condo was clean and had everything we needed to do light meal prep. The pools and hottubs were great for for some evening relaxation. The hosts communication regarding accessing the unit was perfect. I do wish there was info in the description about the central air being out. There was a floor unit in the living room that worked great for that room but it was very loud. We booked here because of the seperate bedroom but could not close the bedroom door or else that room got incredible hot. We were lucky it cooled down the second day.

The building looks like a Bavarian village. The surrounding scenery is breathtaking. I was putting together flowers and a cake for a friend's wedding and had everything I needed to do that. The cake was already baked. Loved the coffee shop in the lobby. It rained so it was nice to be able to take the elevator from the garage to the room without getting wet.

Great condo, clean. Good location by the elevator which made loading and unloading easy. (You can’t hear the elevators from the room at all) This also made it easy with going to the pool. Loved how the host has a ski locker as well,this made it very convenient. They also had local menus in the condo so that made ordering in easy! Will be back again next year !

Great cozy condo at the Appalachian

My family and I just spent the past 2 nights at this clean and well appointed condo. The bed was very comfortable and my kids said the pull out couch was as well. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Check in and out were super easy with the info that host Barbara provided. My husband and kids enjoyed snow tubing and we all loved the heated pool and hot tub. Would definitely recommend. We did not ski this time around and the lack of snow looked a bit barren but the mountain was bustling! Thank you Barbara and Kristoff!

Mountain Creek Stay

Great location, ease of getting into the garage and room was straightforward. Condo/Efficiency was very clean. Would’ve given 5 stars but found the bed on the uncomfortable side - not sure why beds aren’t more of a focus, a Tempur-Pedic topper or the like with mattress cover would be cost effective and far more comfortable amenity - I’m biased.Other then that the unit was spacious and at the foot of the mountain.

We loved staying here. It’s very clean. It’s right at the base of the slopes! Loved being able to cook breakfast there. The heated outdooor pool was a great unique experience in the winter! The checkin and out process was well explained and simple. It is small though. It felt tight for our family if 3. I couldn’t imagine a group larger than that. Absolutely recommend for your small group.

Not what I expected going off their ad

Starting off I was pleased with the cleanliness and size of the unit. Then we tried to turn on the AC in the hot unit, as it is deep into Summer, only to find they laminated a note that reads " out of order, waiting on parts". Who laminates a extremely short term note? Which leads me to believe their AC had been out for awhile and they didn't think it a courtesy to notify people who have already booked and paided in full for its use in the dead of summer.. i tried calling them the first time with NO answer. Then reached out via this app about it and got a mediocre response about it, which didn't solve the problem. And I didn't contact again because i was highly irritated and hot, and shouldn't have to keep contacted them about something as basic as AC, on my VACATION. The floor unit vented out window adequately cooled the room it was sitting in but NOT the entire unit. I paid for the entire unit! . They didnt offer any kind of reimbursement for the inconvenience being hot in the bedroom, not being able to use cooktop, secondary to that ac unit barely cooling it off in sitting area, only to 71 without the stove, i didn't dare try to cook anything light on there or it would've been terribly uncomfortable. I feel they should've been honest and noticed me BEFORE I traveled all the way there, so i could've made an informed choice, which would've been somewhere with good AC in the thick of summer. So warning to those contemplating.

What makes this property unique

Vernon Township, home to roughly 25,000 people, is tucked away in the northeast corner of Sussex County.

Flanked by Wantage Township to the west, Hardyston Township to the south and West Milford in neighboring Passaic County to the east, it shares its northern border with New York state.

More than 40% of Vernon’s 70 square miles is preserved open space and the township is criss-crossed by both federal and state parks as well as a 20-mile stretch of the Appalachian Trail. Communities within the township include Glenwood, Highland Lakes, McAfee, Vernon Valley, Barry Lakes and Lake Wallkill.

Vernon thrives as a year round destination for outdoor enthusiasts of every persuasion. The convergence of skiers and snowboarders during the winter months gives way to hikers, golfers, mountain bikers, kayakers and campers during warmer months.
