Gorgeous place. The interior was beautifully decorated, well-stocked, and cozy. Full kitchen and fridge. The grounds are unbelievable; botanical garden level beautiful. Darin and Katerina are wonderful hosts.
Excellent location, cute charming place. Eclectic decor. We thoroughly enjoyed the place & the environs - especially the waterfall. It felt like we were in the rainforest. The kitchen was well appointed - loved the caramel pecan coffee! Highly recommend this place...
We had a short one night stay, but it was fantastic. The apartment was cute and comfortable and getting to sleep serenaded by the waterfall and forest noises was magical.
The apartment was fully equipped with everything we needed for our stay. We enjoyed the original artwork and colorful decor. The grounds were beautiful, filled with a waterfall, orchards hanging on trees and chairs scattered throughout the gardens to sit and take in the beauty of nature.
What an absolutely delightful stay! This was our favorite place of all during our week on the island. We loved the decor and of course the gardens. The location was perfect for us. The only thing lacking was more time on our agenda for a longer stay. Mahalo Darin!
What a wonderful place! Great communication with the friendly host, Darin. The grounds are spectacular, with tropical plants and a beautiful waterfall. Very quiet, and very near the Waipi'o overlook. Apartment is very clean and nicely furnished. Loved the eclectic decor! Kitchen is great, with everything you need to cook in. (You're a bit far from town, so restaurants may not be an option, and everything closes early in that part of Hawaii!). But if you want a secluded, serene island experience, this place is it!It IS a 2nd floor apartment, so not an option if you have mobility issues, but worked great for us.Definitely one of our favorite stays on the islands. Would definitely stay here again if we are back on the big island!Mahalo!
It was like living inside a fairytale, like Alice in Wonderland. The property and living area are spectacular. I love the art everywhere and the outdoor Waiulili stream and waterfall right on the property are breathtaking. We stayed there when hurricane nolo threatened the big island. It was rainy and windy but the beauty and comfort of the space outside and inside overpowered the worry of the storm. Darin was gracious and communicated well regarding our safety concerns. We even played a little in the stream when it stopped raining. I have amazing pictures. We hope to someday visit when it's sunny and we can splash in the Waiulili stream and soak in the absolute peacefulness and beauty of this place again. The old town of Honokaa is small, and very quaint. There are places to eat plate dinners. We had one and it was good. A pork stew with rice and potatoe salad. The people are very kind. The vastness of the valleys and green hills spattered with horses, goats and cattle leave you in awe. It's very very country up here. Like the upper peninsula in Michigan where I am from. We saw many waterfalls along the roads. Waipi'o Valley it's right down the road from the property and it is magical and first right in with the property.
This property is very well loved and it shows in the work that has been put into it. I know from experience the hard work it takes to create and maintain grounds in a rainforest-like setting. A whimsical delight!

We were very impressed with the grounds, which is literally a lovely jungle botanical garden. Just within steps of the house is a small stream and waterfall, surrounded by beautiful tropical plants. The unit itself was exceptionally clean, comfortable, and well maintained, with all the amenities you can think of. Locally, the dining options are fairly limited, because the nearby town, (Honokaha), is very small. But, there's a large grocery store, if you want to pick up some items as you pass through town. There is an adequate assortment of shops in Honokaha to keep you busy for a day of browsing, but if you start craving a bigger city, Waimea is 20 miles away. This was a very enjoyable mini-vacation for my wife and I, which we may repeat.
Casa fantastica, con tutto il necessario ( bbq lavatrice e asciugatrice ) Giardino molto grande, con una cascata privata Host molto disponibile e gentile Best place on the island Consigliato
