About this property
Sage House in the Hill Country
Sage House is a countryside 2-story guest house with all the comforts of home, including a gym and bonus queen sized wall-cubby bed (kids love it) in the upstairs loft. Enjoy coffee on the wraparound porch or dine in the treetops on the balcony. The mattresses are comfy (not too hard, not too soft), and the bedding is soft. Although the only dining table is on the upstairs balcony, we do have nesting tables available for cozy meals in the living room. There is a desk and chair on the second floor.

About the host
Hosted by Paige and Angelo

We’re Austin transplants who left the city to enjoy the Hill Country with our gaggle of canines. When not attending to careers, we work the land to improve its ecology, bicycle around the neighborhood, and travel to mountain recreation destinations.
Why they chose this property
The path to Sage House climbs rolling hills into the Texas Hill Country within a 15 minute drive from downtown San Marcos. Acres of native trees, grasses, and flowers separate most neighbors in this country setting. With uplifting quietude and fresh air, you can hear the occasional wild turkeys, foxes, livestock, and coyotes. We rest on a migratory bird flight path, and the variety of feathered friends here will take your breath away.
What makes this property unique
Along with the nearby main house, your accommodations rest on 3.5 fenced acres of field, forest, and craggy highland. A quarter-mile hiking trail wanders the property's edge, and it’s a birders paradise. Two hammocks allow quiet naps outside, and there’s a campfire available under a massive historic live oak tree. We keep 5 rescue dogs of varying ages and abilities who will be allowed interactions with you only according to your preference.
