About the host
Your host
I am a nature enthusiast who enjoys hiking, exploring, and basking in mountain and lake views.
Why they chose this property
Woodland Retreat is situated on a secluded 1-lane 1-way gravel road, which allows you to loop around the neighborhood. This “loop” provides a stress free way to navigate the mountain without worrying about oncoming traffic. Woodland Retreat can be accessible with any vehicle, as there are no steep curves or climbs. However, 4-wheel drive is encouraged during the winter months.
What makes this property unique
Woodland Retreat is a secluded cabin that is accessible through a private road used by property owners and their guests. You may have the opportunity to see deer, bear, and other wildlife while enjoying the quiet neighborhood.
We are a brief 5 minute drive to Watauga Point Recreation area, which provides lake views and picnic tables for your enjoyment. Woodland Retreat is also a short 10 minute drive to Pond Mountain Shooting Range and Shook Branch Beach, which provides public swimming access. Within a quick 20 minute drive you will access the Laurel Falls Trailhead and enjoy scenic views of a 55-ft waterfall. You will also be able to enjoy Doe Mountain Recreation, which is 25 minutes from Woodland Retreat.
If you want to stay cozy in the cabin, we have books, puzzles, movies, and lake-cove views for your enjoyment.
