Welcome to Crowes Cottages! Located between the beaches, these charming cottages provide a rare opportunity for the perfect vacation in Maine. We have blended together rustic style cottages with modern amenities to make for a relaxed and comfortable week (or two!) at the seacoast, reminiscent of the way life used to be or as we say in Maine, "the way life should be". Crowes Cottages has been a family destination for over 40 years in York Beach. We feel very fortunate to have recently purchased the property from the "Crowe" family and feel confident we can provide wonderful family experiences for the next 40 years! Our foundation will be great customer service that will lead to great rental experiences here at Crowes! We bring over 14 years of experience managing other rentals in York Beach, with a proven track record of ensuring clean, well appointed units that will exceed guests expectations.

Boasting 2 bedrooms, applianced kitchens and located in a very short walk to both Long Sands and Short Sands. These cottages are rustic, and affordable in price. Please be prepared to bring your own linen and towels. Also, we do not provide pantry items such as condiments. The showers are small stall showers and we do have an outdoor enclosed shower that has hot and cold water. Whatever you decide to do, enjoy our comfortable cottages as your home base. We also provide picnic benches for outdoor dining and there is parking for two cars. On the property we provide horseshoes, room for the kids to play and a couple of charcoal grills. Each cottage has 1 AC window unit. Come, park and play!

Crowes is located so close to everything you can literally park the car and leave it for the week while you enjoy walking to two beaches and downtown York Beach. If you are familiar with the Short Sands area, then you know there is plenty for everyone to do. Of course there is a sandy beach, but also a large new modern playground and volleyball court being completed for the 2024 summer season, penny candy, casual and fine dining options and of course, ice cream shops! York Beach is unique in that it offers entertainment for the family that will remind you of yesteryear. York's Wild Kingdom is a small amusement park with a very nice zoo. Check out the gazebo near the ocean and enjoy the weekly live music while the kids are at the arcade or bowling!

Perfect Getaway for Little Family

This property is such a hidden jem. Although the doorways to the bedrooms and bathroom are small you cannot beat the location, cute details and price. This was so perfect for my 3 yr old, husband and my erd trimester pregnant self. We plan to stay again next year!

Revisit to York

This was my first time being at these cottages. It was a great location, and just enough space for the week. The property was clean, and easy to find. Communication with the owners was great. They were able to accomodate a last minute change, and even responded quickly when we thought one of our bedroom lights was out. We met several families in the surrounding cottages and everyone was so nice! I would consider staying here again.

Favorite beach cottages in York

This was the second year that my teenage son and I stayed at the Crowes Cottages with our dog and we will be staying there again. We love the proximity to both Short Sands and Long Sands which are both just a short walk away! We enjoy the friendly atmosphere among the guests staying in the 7 cottages most of whom are usually visiting with a four legged family member. The cottages are small but include everything you need and there is an outdoor shower if you have a giant teenager who needs more space! Crowes Cottages are the best value in all of York Beach. Highly recommended!

Unfortunately, we found the sofa needing to be cleaned, it had a dusty/musty smell to it, and the cabin had a musty smell as well. We found the floors were swept, however they were not washed, our bare feet got very dirty.

“A Stay at Short Sands in York County, Maine”

Stayed in 2BR Cottage #7 had #1 Full w/Wall Closet and #1 Twin Bunk BR. Decent Size LR/EIK @ Main Entry with Cooler/Storage behind Door to cottage. Excellent location, Nice Property with eclectic, , miss matched/repurposed, sturdy furniture perfect for a cottage! All the basics provided for making meals/eating for good size refrig, #4 burner electric stove, pots, pans, dishes and silverware/utensils with an electric Mr Coffee just needed the Bag of Dunkin’ Donuts Coffee, Half & Half and Sugar. Hand and Dish Soap, Antibac Spray Cleaner, Paper Towels, and Toilet Paper provided. Outdoor Shower clean, perfect for showering sand off from short walk to beach. Feedback given about mattresses with Property Manager-Crystal reporting “new mattresses” being discussed. Bureau with Table Lamp in each BR but suitcase stands for Full Size BR and then #1 maybe #2 suitcase stands would fit in Bunk BR. Coat Hooks in Main LR/EIK, in Bunk Room with more in Bathroom and Bunk Room would be helpful then Coat Hooks @ Outdoor Shower would be great too. We brought our own small gas grill but there was a charcoal grill @ each cottage with coal provided and grilling utensils for ease if needed. Full Size Wooden Picnic Table for up to #6 was very sturdy and clean. A Patio with Wooden Picnic Table with well constructed gazebo on property for use by guests with Horse Shoe Pit and Bean Bag Toss Game on site. A Stone Fire Pit would be a nice touch! Toasting Marshmallows/making Smore’s could be done at the charcoal grill though. To be transparent, the bathroom doesn’t have standard size door in this unit, shower stall and sink smaller too so this cottage would not be recommended for a larger sized person/people. We’d most certainly consider staying in this cottage at this property in York, Maine again! Thank You for a wonderful stay, a nice long weekend at the beach! The Bettano’s

Family Getaway

The location was perfect for walking to Short or Long Sands. The cabin was uncomfortable because the air conditioner was not large enough to cool the rooms. It was usually 88 degrees inside. I did not have an outside clothesline in #7.

Cute cottage convenient to short sands

The place was adorable and very clean. Bathroom was a little small but workable. Covenient to short sands beach and town. Great outdoor space. Property manager was attentive to needs. Would definitely rent again!

Early June Cottage 7!

The cottage was perfect for my young family! We comfortably fit three kids (ages 4-2months) and my wife and I. Well stocked and good layout! Great location! Walked to short sands one day and long sands the next! Will definitely stay again sometime in the future!
