Peaceful Mt. Shasta retreat with mountain views, meditation spaces, and a beautifully designed private guest suite for up to 4 guests. Perfect for nature lovers, retreat travelers, hikers, remote workers, and anyone seeking a calm, restorative getaway near sacred sites.

Located just minutes from town, you’ll enjoy quick access to restaurants, shopping, trails, and outdoor adventures — while staying far enough away to enjoy true peace and quiet without the train or town noise.

This completely private ground-floor guest suite is attached to our home, where we live upstairs with our friendly small dog, Clyde.

The suite comfortably hosts 1–4 adults and includes:

• 2 bedrooms with queen size beds
• 1 full bathroom with standard shower
• open-concept living room & kitchen
• fast high-speed WiFi
• dedicated workspace with natural light
• cool, comfortable interior year-round
• 4 guests maximum

The kitchen features beautiful views of Black Butte and is fully equipped for cooking, relaxing, or working remotely.

Please note: We intentionally do not provide a TV, as most guests stream entertainment on their own devices and come here to unplug, explore nature, and relax.

Gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and return the keys
There is trash can located under the back deck of the main house. Please dispose of all trash before checking out.
All used towels should be left on the bathroom floor. All dishes should be washed and left in the strainer or put away.
Shut off all lights/heat, and please leave the keys on the kitchen table.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
We ask that you kindly turn the heaters and lights down/off if you're going to leave for the day.
We appreciate that the backyard/garden area, and stairway area inside the unit be kept private and not to be used.
Please throw food scraps in trash can under the sink. there is no garbage disposal in the sink. Do not flush any feminine products down the toilet.

We had such a great time in this beautiful, super clean, welcoming home. Michael, the host, is a very caring person. The backyard he created is a piece of art! You can tell he does everything with love. The view on Mt. Shasta from the backyard is spectacular! We loved to sit on the outdoor couch and enjoy the view. One morning we saw a family of deer in the backyard. That was exciting! We experienced a state of calmness, peacefulness, and tranquility while staying in this amazing home. Thank you, Michael! If you want to go to Mt Shasta and bask in the energy of the Magic Mountain then the House of Light is the place to go. Michael has created a magical apartment that you will feel Mt Shasta's energy the minute you walk in. The house is located at 3,0000 ft and you have a spectacular view of Shasta's Peak. The grounds also spectacular and we walked the perfect Labyrinth Michael constructed.The apartment itself was created with his guests' purpose in mind. There are spectacular paintings and statues, books and cards. It was extremely clean, included all the necessities and there was even Shasta spring water available. My wife and I felt different the minute we walked in. We felt peaceful, hopeful and full of Shasta's light. We spent 4 days and 3 nights there and we could not thank Michael enough for all the thought and purpose he has created for his guests.If you are looking to walk into the light, this is the place for you.

Micheal went above and beyond. We were visiting Shasta to attend a retreat. One of the people from the retreat left their purse in our car. They got a hold of Micheal through VRBO to get a hold of us. Micheal was kind enough to text us a message and then checked in making sure we got. Our friend was so thankful and so we were. He is truly kind and we had the extra bonus of meeting his sweet dog Clyde. It was a wonderful experience and I truly would recommend this place. It is peaceful, quiet, clean, charming and spacious. The surrounding views are breath taking and the property is kept us beautifully.

This place is perfect! This was our first time in Shasta and we had a wonderful and magical trip and this rental made it all possible! Central to everything in town and the surrounding area for hikes and adventures. Great kitchen and outdoor space to enjoy meals and stargazing at night and walking around the well maintained and decorated grounds. Highly recommend and we will be staying here again! Michael is a gracious and knowledgeable host that also offers spiritual tours and guidance about the area.
