About this property
Cozy 2-bedroom lakefront cottage on Beech Hill Pond
Relax and enjoy your peaceful get-away in this cozy, well-equipped cottage with air conditioning, heat, and sunrise views of crystal clear Beech Hill Pond as you sip your morning tea or coffee.
There are 3 kayaks (2 cockpit, 1 sit-on-top for fishing) with adult PFDs. The property has a well, septic, outdoor clothesline, towels, linens, flat screen Roku TV, WIFI, internet, gas grill, indoor and outdoor dining. There is a cafe-size table on the back deck for two and an outdoor table below facing the in-water firepit and lake. You can cast your line right off the wooden wharf, which is great for fishing and relaxing (but is not boat accessible),
This comfortable cottage has a fully-equipped kitchen and the Otis General Store is 5 minutes away for take-out pizza, burgers, deli subs, sandwiches, daily hot meal specials, and basic groceries. A 20-minute drive to Ellsworth offers 3 grocery stores, great restaurants, and fresh lobster and seafood. Another 25 minutes from Ellsworth brings you to the coast with Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor on Mount Desert Island – just 45 minutes away from Beech Hill Pond. Explore the village, shops, and restaurants of Bar Harbor; hike, bike, swim and explore Acadia National Park; or drive 40 minutes back to Bangor if casino games, concerts, and theatre shows are your preference for a change of pace.
You can swim from your private sandy beach, explore the quiet coves at the north end of the lake by kayak, spend a morning paddling down to the large sandy beach with all day sun at the south end of the lake, and warm yourself by the firepit as you listen to the call of loons at night. There are books and board games inside, a Roku TV, a DVD player with movies, and year-round good neighbors living next door on one side while the large lot provides plenty of space and privacy from the owners on the other side. If you are looking for a relaxing, peaceful get-away - this might be the place for you.
Warning: there is an ancient metal wharf built out over the lake that is no longer safe to walk or stand upon, with missing handrail sections and wobbly, rusted metal footplates. Access is blocked with a warning, but this particular property may not be ideal for families with children.
