About this property
Comfortable lake home on pristine Beech Hill Pond
Situated on a very private rocky cove on Beech Hill Pond in Otis, Maine, the Golden Pond Cottage offers guests a unique slice of interior Maine lakefront.
This cottage is perched up in the pines and overlooks one of the most attractive, clear water ponds in Hancock County. The property's 2 acres provides two separate water access points, complete with docks, 1 canoe and 4 kayaks. Guests here will enjoy some the state's best fishing and swimming opportunities. Smallmouth bass and lake trout abound in this 1,200 acre pond and landlocked salmon are also routinely caught.
This cottage boasts sunset views, echoes of calling loons and a warm, cozy interior. The cottage is also a short 40 minute drive away from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, with all the wonderful sights, hiking and biking that Mount Desert Island has to offer.
The Golden Pond Cottage features three warm and inviting bedrooms, two full baths, cathedral living room, center waterside deck and spacious kitchen and dining area. The atmosphere here is pure country living, with an open interior, charming knotty pine walls and hardwood floors.
The centerpiece of the cottage is its cathedral living room with overlooking balcony, large gable windows and glass front fireplace. Its kitchen features a breakfast bar and water view dining area, and, like the living room, offers easy access to its center waterside deck through French doors.
Its large master bedroom features a queen size bed, and offers water and sunset views. Its guest rooms are cozy and decorated with country charm. One of the guest rooms offers a queen size bed and the other features a double bed. There is also a day bed provided on the balcony area for overflow sleeping. Also included are firewood, 2 TV's (YouTube TV and Roku), high speed Internet access, 2 cribs, 2 high chairs, washer, dryer, gas grill, linens, phone, paddles and life jackets. Guest's dogs are welcome here but smoking is not permitted in the cottage.
